After taming with the abandon method and summoning, the buff disappeared after 6 seconds.
Beyond that, I attempted taming, summoning, dismissing, and summoning again. Didn't help.
Tamed, summoned, dismissed, logged out, summoned. Didn't work.
It's possible that the buff checks for current HP, but I don't know about that.
It might be that untimed frenzy buffs already won't stick upon taming.
EDIT: IMPORTANT NOTE TO STRESS: THE FRENZY IS NOT TIMED
Since I haven't been following what was actually said about taming these new guys with their buffs... do all of the ones tamed with buffs lose said buffs after so many minutes/seconds? Or are there some pets that never lose the buff?
I can see the problem not being so bad if all of the pets lose the buff within the first hour of being tamed (or upon dying)... but I have always thought the buffs do not go away once the pet was tamed... hence the reason I (and I think everyone else) have been so upset over it when someone even brings it up...

I don't see the Vamiric Duskbat from Tirisfal Glades here at the first page. When tamed with the petabanond, it keeps its buff, Draining Touch (Melee attacks have a chance to steal health)
Just so you know ^^

That's because of a lack of visual component, Brainader. Hence, taming one is kinda hard to justify.
Would you mind checking to see if said buff will clear on death? If not, then you ought to report it.

I'll try to check that at the end of my "looking for new pets" round, since i abandoned him right after i tamed him
edit
Yes, he does lose the buff upon death ^^

Cialbi wrote:That's one tough tame you're looking at there. It can be done with one tank, if the tank switches to attacking the other core rager so that the stacking debuff that Golemagg applies to teh tank when attacked has a chance to clear (said debuff is basically a sunder with no limit on how many time it can stack). The core ragers can't be killed if Golemagg is still aive, and they despawn when Golemagg dies IIRC. Hence, you can build up a nice threat buffer on one of the core ragers, before taming. you will be needing a healer, since these puppies hit hard when in close proximity to Golemagg.
I don't know if the glowing horns have to do with the buff they get from Golemagg or not. If the visual effect is part of the buff, then either the core hound loses the buff upon being tamed, or you have one OP core hound that you should ditch in favor of some Ancient Core Hound.
I've tamed this with no issue tbh--have solo'd MC, and when you 2-man it, all you have to do is pull one of the corehounds when the other & boss are pulled. The tame is pretty painless really--it seems like it'd be a lot worse than it is. In fact, once we tame-abandoned both beasts (not the special method, just a standard abandon) to get them outta the way for the boss fight!

So, since this whole thread came up and someone found out about Spiteflayer and his awesome Feltaint, Ive been out and about checking his spawn now and then for him.
Literally, 2 minutes ago, i go out and I spam /tar spit as usual, and he comes up, I was so happy! I did the tame and disband macro, logged out and back in, called him out and boasted upon his beauty.
I was sitting there thinking to myself 'I wonder if this effect persists through death'
Literally, 3 seconds later; Im dead. I blink my eye, and Im dead.
I look around me, there is fire everywhere, looking up I see a huge molten tail go off into the distance. Deathwing.
I was just like -_____-; SO that concludes to my question if the effect lasts or not. - I run to my body and rez, and I rez Spite. No effect, I died on the inside q.q
Atleast I got the achievement. /twitch
I just tamed Spiteflayer, and to avoid the same problem as you, I immediately HS; now it has the Feltaint buff.
The buff says "Increases damage taken by 15%. Increases damage dealt by 15%." Now, will this buff be considered one oft he exploits as mentioned in page 1?

No it's fine you have a pet that was not intended to have that buff so it deals more damage
ofc it's an exploit

@smashfanDS: Just let your pet die, revive it, and all will be well!
@amrasillias: Technically not an exploit yet, since in this case the Feltaint was entirely accidental afaik. Once the pet dies and the buff is removed, then the potential of the buff being exploited is eliminated.
@Acherontia: My experience with Golemagg from soloing MC probably made me overly cautious after seeing my turtle killed while in Shell Shield on that fight

Then I found out what the problem was, and just had my turtle attack one of the core hounds every once in a while until the debuff stacks fell off.
Not sure how quickly I'll get ahold of the xpac, so I may run MC later this week (untouched alts will be plentiful

) and try this for the sake of science. Or Petopia.

For those working to get old pets (sholazar spirits, for example) that you abandoned due to not having enough space in your stable back then - be persistent.
I ticketed to have my ooze (Spirit of Koosu) returned. I wasn't on when they apparently returned the pet, but went to my stable to find a Skoll pet I'd abandoned some time ago instead.
I ticketed again, got a reply (after it being escalated) within an hour, and spoke to a GM who was able to find it (couldnt remember what I had named it, but remembered the rough time it was abandoned - around 3.0.8

) and got back the ooze pet no trouble.

This is reassuring, I've been ticketing GMs to try and get my hydra back but they keep saying it isn't recoverable. I'm gonna put in another ticket and see how it goes from there.

Spiteflayer was mentioned some time ago in the thread, but never made the front page. Yes, its a damage buff just like the tainted beasts. In fact, it's the same buff.
I don't advise using it, for that reason.

A unique, yellow-skinned bird with two vomiting heads?
Too much to pass up, even if just for vanity purposes.
"TwoBirdFlu" is one I'm not letting go of. I'd get rid of the arakkoa ghost-bird first. Or the oil-drenched creatures.

hello,
This technic works with Furious Howl ( rare ) in mulgore / north thunder bluff . Just slowly down his life , wait he pop as Ghost wolf - lay trap - tame - spam macro .
Cool for low level taming ( take care if you let him die once , u would get a classic white wolf )
Hug.

Np--there's three mobs in total that turn into a Ghost Wolf and are tameable, but I only linked the most common (Ghostpaw Runner). The Alphas and Ghost Howl are also both tameable like this, though--but it's lost in convo mid-thread

A few update notes:
1) Golemagg is the hardest solo boss in MC, in my opinion. But, he is killable, and warcraft hunters union has a nice write-up on how to do it. It takes a bit of luck, and some time. (Though, should be a ton easier at 85)
2) I *love* my on-fire boar in the underwater zones! With all the swim pet pathing issues, it really lets me know easily where he is and if he has gotten out of place. (When I need to hit "passive", get him to trot back to me, and re-target him for a new charge). Thanks again (for the umpteenth time) for these pet tame tips.
