In other news, I've decided I don't like Ho-oh's coloration and that I want the shiny. I'm going to regret this decision.

This is what I did with Ninetales. I'm still regretting it. *Cries*

The general impression the internet is giving me is that it'll take a few months of many, many resets a day to get my shiny. Fun stuff! x.x Good luck with your Ninetails hunt!

Well, I've been at my Vulpix/Ninetales hunt for around two months now, hunting for about an hour or so each day. And if you want some lulz, I YouTube'd 'shiny ho-oh' and found this gem...

Her reaction = priceless! I know how she feels though. That was pretty much my exact reaction when I found Aeonaxx. xD

But good luck! (:

If you haven't already Lupis, save your Master Ball for it. Ho-Oh is a real bitch to catch--it took me several tries because he kept struggling himself to death--and if I encountered a shiny Ho-Oh and he struggled himself to death, I would probably quit pokemon and never look back.

I feel a bit bad about it really, but one of my friends bought Pokemon HeartGold from a second-hand game store and the game save on it was hacked with x100 Master Balls and such. Since he knew I was hunting for a shiny Vulpix (and figured I would get addicted to shiny hunting and not stop even after I get my Vulpix...) he offered to trade some to me before he reset the save file, so I took 10 or so. I feel bad since I know you're meant to cope with *one* Master Ball... but the idea of a shiny Vulpix *finally* appearing and then escaping a ball I throw at it and using roar to run away... My heart would break. So many times. So there's no way I'm risking it! I'll probably keep the other Master Balls for other shinies I'm bound to hunt after. xD

Have you tried breeding for the shiny Vulpix? It's about the same amount of time investment, but requires no chance of running, and can be bred with the stats/nature you want.

Hah, I have very twisted ethics when it comes to cheating. My friend uses an action reply and the shiny braviary I have is shamelessly cheated (it is also sadly the only survivor of his game, as it crashed and wouldn't load anymore) and he also tried to get me a shiny axew--the end result was no axew, but I have 900 of every item and max cash. Which is pretty nice since it's my Black copy that I store my pokemon on, so it's kind of handy. But I don't like using exp hacks, I'd rather raise it myself.

I dunno I'm weird.

No, because my way is *much* quicker. xD Level 14 lead Pokemon in area where the highest level Pokemon is Vulpix at level 15, throw repels, all I get are Vulpix in that area. Also I've never been that interested in stats and stuff before, I'm one of those love-Pokemon-for-who-they-are people. xD!

I've heard of that. Wasn't sure it really worked in speeding the process though. And I generally agree, but I find it fun to build competitive teams after the story.

Oh yeah, I'm saving my master ball for Shiny. I'm not even going to risk damaging it even a little, lest my attack bugs for some reason and kills it.

Either way, it's gunna take me a long, long time. But luckily I'm not very motivated to move on with this game at the moment, as I'm ready to beat the League and I really really don't want to because I hate the Pokémon League. I'm going to need to powerlevel like crazy and I do not want to in the least. So it's endless soft resets for me!

Maybe at some point I'll go back to Black and level that team a bit.

Edit- as for cheating, I don't really care. xD If you have the ability to cheat, you're lucky. I'd jump for a few hacked shinies/items. But I don't want to risk ruining my game forever, and I don't have AR and/or whatever you need to get cheat stuff, so I can't.

When I bought my second-hand copy of Diamond it had a cheated shiny Raikou on it. o: I got rid of it though, as I'd prefer to only keep shinies I earned myself preferably.

Heh, a friend of mine has two of each Legendary Beast, all shiny. He offered to give me some, but I'm not a huge fan of their shiny colors, oddly enough. I think he got them through some sort of event.

Raikou looks... kinda messed up as a shiny. Orange with a green cloud-thingy on his back. Entei is also a bit meh and Suicune looks... washed out. But yeah, I believe there was an event of some kind a while ago where they handed out free shiny legendary beasts. Even if I don't like what they look like, I wouldn't mind having a shiny Suicune just cause Suicune's one of my favourite Pokemon. o:

:D I just need a Gengar,Golem,Tauros,Alakazam and Mewtwo and I will have all the Gen 1 Pokemon in card form!

The lady who I tend to buy my cards from said she can make tins for you with cards you want so I may do that! 100 common/uncommon 10 rares 10 holos and a booster pack with a tin case and dice and other stuff for $25? it's a steal! (compared to buying booster packs it is!)

The Gen that's next in closeness of me having all of them is Gen 5!

Hurray!!! Gratz on finally finding your shiny Fox :D

I've been really slow doing the pokemon games lately...Heck I still have not beaten B2 or W2!!! and I am only at the part in the MD where I saved Espeon. Mostly lately because I have the RAF going on in Wow and trying to mass level up some toons to mass gift level more toons...Must remember to play pokemon while watching tv in bed at night and get it done!!! I'am starting to become to much of a perfectionist in the games, I need to relaxe and just play without worrying about doing EVERYTHING possible at once!!

Thanks guys! :D I've been hunting for this girl for months, at the same time as praying she would be female. I wouldn't have minded a male really, but I do prefer a female since she will be used in my fire Pokemon team. I called her Trixie for now but I'm thinking of changing that in a bit. I spent all night leveling her so soon I'll be able to get my dream shiny Ninetales once she's hit level 24 and learned a few more moves I'd like first. I woke up in the morning and had to turn on my DS right away to make sure I wasn't dreaming! I still can't believe it! :D
