Pfft, issue is, a lot of those reviewers only pay attention to the gameplay. Which isn't PMD's point anyway! The best thing about PMD is the story! And Gates to Infinity definitely didn't fail to deliver in that regard. At least, to me, it didn't. XD

(Just wanna mention, though, none of the other PMD have anything to do with each other, so it doesn't really matter which PMD game you pick up. Although I would suggest getting Explorers of the Sky, as opposed to either Explorers of Time, or Explorers of Darkness, as Sky is the third.. Enhanced version of those two. It has the same story, but has some extended story stuff and side missions and blah. Definitely suggest getting it, and not Time/Darkness. Also, Blue Rescue team, as old a game it may be, is STILL very much worth getting, in my opinion. It's a great game, even if a lot of people like Time/Darkness/Sky a lot better. XD I think that Blue Rescue team has its merits, though. I loved the story in it. <3)

I forgot what I was talking about yesterday...*reads back* oh yeah...oh well lol, topic has moved on XD

I never got to play the MD much, tho I got a GBA emulator on my phone with it so it was the first time for me (think it was Red I was playing). I enjoyed the story and play style, very different for pokemon and not in a bad way. I've come to ignore most game reviews cause they usually don't match my own preferences of what I enjoy.

Working on a shirt right now with Zekrom on it...looks pretty cool so far.

Wouldn't be surprised...don't most of his pokemon get changed over to the new gen minus pikachu?

Yeah, pretty much.

He's always consistently caught at least one stage of the lowbie 'Normal/Flying' type of each gen.

1st: Pidgeotto and one episode with Pidgeot.

2nd: Shiny Noctowl

3rd: Taillow, later Swellow

4th: Starly (now Staraptor)

and 5th: Pidove (Now Unfezant (female))

So yeah...expect Ash with the new bird XD

My life these days:
- Wake up, take a shower/eat breakfast, play Pokemon.
- If I have/want to go out, I go out... but my Pikachu bag comes with me.
- Come back home, sit down and play more Pokemon.
- Find time to make dinner... then play more Pokemon.
- If I'm not playing SoulSilver or Gates to Infinity, I'm playing the online TCG with friends.
- In the evening, getting ready to go to sleep... I'll watch Pokemon episodes. I never got to watch them as a kid so I'm catching up now!

Oh, and as a side note, if I go out shopping in town... I'm keeping my eyes open for Pokemon things. Like Plasma Freeze TCG packs or general stuffz...
... HELP ME.

Whew, finally made it to victory road in W2. Although I am somewhat worried this time around since I have a very uneven team...and a HUGE weakness to ice.

Team atm:

Braviary-Akiso, lv 57
Haxorus-Fray, lv 55
Swanna-River, lv 53
Flygon-Tsuba, lv 56
Eelektrik-Taabuna, lv 56
Pinsir-Stagnamit, lv 39 (cut/strength slave)

Braviary knows fly, while Swanna knows surf, and none of my current pokemon can learn waterfall...which N said I'd be needing...This is the first time I haven't been prepared for Victory Road/Elite 4...also the first time I've made it this far without using my starter pokemon. Now to figure out where to go from here!

First game I didn't use my starter either. Should be fine with the ice weakness, I don't remember anyone having anything like that. E4 is the same as in B/W tho the champ is different. As for levels...I don't remember theirs in W2, but I think you'll be fine.

Man, I really am not the best at leveling. xD I got to E4 on by Black with pokemon in their low, low 50's. I only leveled them up to 55 for Ghetsis!

Lmao, I'd like that...every time I get to the E4, I'm in my mid-40s and trying to level them to 50 before I take E4 on. Freakin sucks cause Durants are the only good xp and only one of my pokemon has super effective attacks against it heh.

Ghetsis had what, all ice type pokemon...damn near killed my team. Just glad I managed to squeak through, flygon is my savior with all the different types or moves it can learn.
Going to have to take a sneak peak through my book to see what I'll need for Victory road, I'd like to replace one of my pokemon with a fire type. I miss having a fire type...but which one to pick...Maybe I'll encounter a heatmor and raise that up as I go through Victory road. Should probably switch River Swanna out for something that can use waterfall (and surf) as well.

Ghetsis didn't have any ice types. He's got Cofagrigus (ghost), Bouffalant (normal), Seismitoad (water/ground), Bisharp (dark/steel), Eelektross (electric), and Hydreigon (dark/dragon). Not sure where you got ice from, none of them even have ice-type attacks. Maybe you're thinking of N, cause he does use one ice-type pokemon Vanilluxe. None of his other pokemon have ice-type moves tho.

There's Heatmors in Victory road. And the victory road in Black/White I never really found that challenging. Really not that many trainers it seems. Plus there's a doctor about half-way thru.

This is one of the few games where I didn't care for almost all the fire types sadly. I wish Emboar didn't look like a Mexican wrestler cause a fire pig was a damn cool idea. One of the best fire types in the game is Darmanitan (tho I don't really care for him much either lol, I'm pretty picky). Volcarona is pretty awesome tho, but I don't think you can get that one til post game sadly. Heck, in White 2, I don't even have a fire type as part of my team. In it, my team consists of Metagross (physic/steel), Haxorus (dragon), Bisharp (dark/steel), Golurk (ground/ghost), Kyurem (combined with Zekrom, dragon/ice), and Gigalith (rock). My glaring weakness is to fighting, but Golurk and Metagross can take care of that fairly well.

In White, my team is Zekrom (replaced my Scolipede), Emboar, Haxorus, Carracosta, Golurk and Bisharp. I think you'll be fine with just about whatever you take tho.

Urg I can't beat Lance in SoulSilver. All my Pokémon are level 50/51 but they're also all fire types and I'm getting my ass handed to me by his Gyarados and Aerodactyl. My best bet for beating his Gyarados is to learn an electric move which does x4 damage to it... but none of my Pokémon can learn *any* electric attacks. Urrrrrrrrrg.

And no, I'm not going to level up another Pokémon and use that instead. I'm building a fire Pokémon team for a reason. But has anyone ever done anything similar and managed to get past him?

Never tried the single typing before. I'd have a heck of a time picking just one lol.

I thought this comic was hilarious.

Ahahah, I love pokédex entries. They're super fun for RP but imagining them in a real-life setting is both hilarious and horrifying.

Also, a good friend introduced me to an app that lets you customize pokémon to your specifications (shiny, attacks, etc) and then put them on your game. Hacking in pokémon without all the trouble of actually hacking, basically. It's cheating in every way and my god I love it. SHINIES EVERYWHERE. This makes me so incredibly happy.

I just realised. If I'm gunna have to level up another Pokémon just to beat this guy only to then never even use that Pokémon again, why don't I just borrow my friend's level 100 Mewtwo? xD That's what I'll probably end up doing lol. I don't consider it cheating because, either way, I'm using a Pokémon I'll never touch again. I'll use Mewtwo to get past the elite four again, Lance's bitchface Gyarados and Aerodactyl and then I'll kill this three Dragonites and his Charizard with my team to make myself feel a bit better about it. xD

I knew there would be problems with leveling an all-fire team, but it's fun! I've honestly been completely fine up until now. Every gym went just as normal really. I expected the Pokémon League to be tough so I leveled my team all to 50 before going in. I faceroll'd the elite four. But Lance?! Nope.

In case anyone's interested, I'm using Ninetales, Charizard, Flareon, Houndoom, Rapidash and Arcanine. It feels good to act like a gym leader or something. xD

In B/W to get Volcarona pre-E4, you gotta surf to route 17, get to the the biiig island. A guy in the house there gives you a larvesta egg if you have an open party slot. Then you just gotta lvl it to 59.

In B2/W2 you can get Volcarona directly as soon as you reach the World Tournament by going through Relic Passage into Relic Castle and catching it.
