On one hand, he's adorable. On the other, I hate you and your amazing art skills. SO. I can conclude you are simultaneously amazing and awful.

Look at how much Lupis has progressed throughout this thread though! She was good to begin with... but now she's AMAZING.

Don't you dare Qinni, everyone has their own style and their own flair. The joy of art of that it is subjective, and as much as I also adore Lupis's work, I really enjoy yours as well.
That and from personal experience, practice really does make better. And Lupis has tirelessly been drawing pets for people here for such a long time and it has paid off, they are seriously getting better all the time.
But like I said, it in no way does that make anyone's "better", as I really love a lot of what you do as well.

I just had a look at Qinni's deviantART for the first time... Fuuuuuuu... Everyone is so much better than me. D: I really need to practice my digital stuff especially. But! I am on a Computer Games Art course. Which does involve a lot of concept art drawing. So I have hope for myself. :3 Maybe one day I'll be confident enough to make my own dA account.

Haha, I tend to avoid the DA pages of people I idolize, it's always a blow to my ego. xD But honestly, like Spiritbinder so eloquently put it, art is subjective and art is practice based. Gods know I've been fawning over Qinni's pen and pencil work for ages now, and while I haven't seen much of your stuff, Snowy, I'm going to bet that your art is pretty great too. And if you don't think it's perfect, well, draw moar. xD The main reason this thread is still running, despite how long these drawings are starting to take, is that it's making me draw a lot more than I used to, and draw stuff I wouldn't usually try. The practice is great and there's the added bonus of providing art to people who want it. ^.^
And on a completely different topic, I'm working on the line art for your water strider, Equeon!

I wish you artists would all appreciate your own abilities! You all get flocked, which should be proof enough that everyone's work resonates with an audience.

And I completely agree with Lupis about it being practice-based - writing is like that too.

As I always say drawing is not a talent it's a skill and skills can be learned by anyone with enough practice.

Yes and no, some people have raw talent (cows!) and it's can be easier for them to get out exactly what they see in their head, but your spot on about the practice. Even people who struggle with stick figures can come surpass a lazy talented artist with practice.

True true. Another thing I will say is critique's are good. I can't count how many good artists on DA get angry at critiques or call it hate. Hate and critiques are not the same. critiques are there to help you learn things you have done wrong, Yes they can sometimes sound harsh but it's still helpful stuff! You have to learn to handle them like a adult and not get angry at the person giving you the critique.
Remember a fresh pair of eyes can spot mistakes and things that look wrong in your drawings that you yourself can't see so it's always good to ask for them and show someone it! Trust me I would be drawing shitty art today if it was not for the critiques and stuff I got at animation school.
Sorry Lupis for that spam btw XD

Last one complete! Sorry for the wait, Equeon!
And what's this? A wild tutorial has appeared!
http://fc09.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2013/ ... 5sviud.png
Okay, so it's not a very helpful tutorial, but it gives a basic idea of the steps I go through to make these. Average time it takes is... Uh, around 6 hours, recently.
Anyway, you know what this means. Now open to three new requests. Keep in mind the rules and what I will and won't draw! Accepting three requests, and I must get *at least* one first requester.

Oh yes, this will be fun! I've been itching to draw a Crocolisk, and a sha creature should be very interesting. Accepted, both of you. ^.^

It's so hard to single out any work for praise, since they're all so wonderful, but oh my god, that water strider. Love the detail!
