You said Ponderance was leaving so I went to have a look, and one thing I read on his 'goodbye message' urked me. Did you see what he wrote about Arcturis having a second spawn spot as well? He said he planned to write the information or something but never did, and left us in the dark as to what he was talking about. I'm confused and intrigued now.

Yeah I was wondering that too. I might go have a look around Grizzly for that second spot after I'm done here.

I hate to say it, since Pond has done so much for us, but somehow I have a feeling he might be having us on. I mean, a second spawn point that, after years of WotLK being out, hasn't been found? And not only that but he leaves with nothing more than a message saying 'Arcturis has a second spawn spot' and that's all, no info, nothing. Seems strange. Might have to try and get in contact with him.

Edit: Now I read it again, he says he didn't have the time to go and get the information. So basically he's passing on his speculation as fact? Hurr.

Last night I was trying to explain how much of a troll Blood Seeker is to my bf... he thought the concept of a level 15 creature in Deepholm was a joke. And when I explained how he only stays up a few seconds made him really ponder what Blizzard was thinking when they put him there. Stupid Blood Seeker.

I theorize that Blizz doesn't want us to camp Aeonaxx, so they put bloodseeker in and made him despawn after 5 seconds. I've only ever caught a glimpse of him, thank god for npc scan lol. I am greatful to the bloodseeker, he comes and pops his head out saying ''Aeonaxx doesn't wanna play yet, check back later'' and I can get on with whatever I want

God damn that rotten little bat. ¬_¬

I have no proof of this but I could pretty much confirm that this is true. You'll simply have to take my word for it. I've had a number of chats with GMs before about Aeonaxx and all of them have told me that Aeonaxx wasn't an NPC that was made to be camped. They thought that it should be something that one lucky person might see while in Deepholm. That also explains why he doesn't despawn as well; since he spawns so rarely, they want that rare chance to go to someone who was there at the right time.

However they should have known better. If they'd noted that people camped for the TLPD then this might be a bit different. For a start, they probably would have had a proper placeholder model, rather than a tiny bat which can only be seen in minimum range and only spawns for the minimum amount of time. Obviously Blood Seeker wasn't something that was meant to be found. Aeonaxx might also despawn like the TLPD if Blizz understood that people camp for these things.

I could go on about this for ages, rare spawns have always fascinated me since I found out about them. I love trying to figure them out!

I was always led to believe that he does despawn? Oh if this is true that he doesn't, I might log in early morning when I have a pee to check on him. We don't have overnight campers anymore. The last guy who was after him had his NPC scan bug on him so he quitting coming in deepholm, then he stopped playing altogether. This is great news to hear, Chaoyll, I've been so paranoid that I have to catch that ten minute despawn timer. Thank you lol

Personally, I don't like that video at all because of the fact he mounts it only to let himself be killed to prove Aeonaxx despawns if you get killed on it. This was something we probably all guessed would happen in the first place and not many people are dumb enough to let themselves be killed by Aeonaxx's whelps anyway to let this happen, so it really doesn't matter. A bit of a waste of a spawn, imo.

Anyway, I can't personally prove that Aeonaxx doesn't despawn since I've never exactly sat around and stared at it willingly for that long before, but I'm positive I've seen other people on Aeonaxx Resource saying that Aeonaxx doesn't despawn at all and remains flying in small circles (and flying slightly upwards/downwards at the same time, in case you never knew!) until someone mounts him. Then it's up to them to kill him before his whelps kill them.

Oh, and I've seen screenshots of GM conversations that state that Aeonaxx doesn't despawn as well, but never trust the word of a GM too much. They all tell us something different each.

It was also believed that, for a limited time, TLPD never despawned either.

I read into this stuff far too much sometimes. I still watch videos every now and again of Aeonaxx/TLPD kills. I know, like, EVERYTHING that Ponderance ever told us, and possibly more since it was me that came up with the whole 'possible forced spawn around the reset timer' idea. I have a massive thread about it on the TLPD/Aeonaxx Resource forums somewhere, but I can't be arsed to dig around for it now. I reckon I had some pretty good reasoning as to why a forced spawn could be possible too. I never claimed my idea as fact, though, I just thought it was an idea to be seriously considered.

I've always thought Aeonaxx would be a bit easier of a camp because of the spawn timers and the fact he just won't despawn.

aeonaxx is just shy to you Nili you need to do what i do every day. Prepare a gnome sacrifice to the RNG gods XD

I do all sorts of things like that, I gathered a bundle of gnomes and threw them from way up high, then made gnome cookies from their squashed bits.. I also ride my mount upside three times, then ride my mechanohog (in case he's grumpy and wants me off his lawn!), then I shout at Porecite to let him come play, I even killed Xaronia.. I guess I'm just too awesome and he's intimidated
