Somebody's sig got me to thinking, have you tried messing with the lava spiders yet, ie Kirix and his molten front family? Maybe make the grey darker almost into black and keep the green, or whatever other various color combos.

A pure blue (since the in-game one is purple-blue), and a cyan:



Lilac pink, mid-pink and hot pink (no pun intended, sorry):

A dark crimson. I was trying to go for an aging spider whose fires were dying out:



Three multicoloured ones.The green-yellow is the same colour-scheme as the in-game green one, but the shades are very different. I like the effect. I'm especially fond of the red-blue. These colours are also fairly (deliberately) dim.

That crimson one is so gorgeous! I almost wish the red one we have in game looked like that since the red and orange look so similar as they are currently.

I was wondering.....feel like playing around with crocolisks?

I'm loving the two deep color ones, the crimson and purple, would love one like kirix but with a darker carapace, more like black, that would be quite striking

*mumbles quietly* I'd forgotten how gorgeous the lava spider base is. That just sealed it.

I'm a little curious if there's a way of getting a yellow lava spider with a little more contrast on the feet, maybe with white tips? It always feels the most "solid" of the live skins and I'm wondering if that's the only way it looks at all half-decent.

Man, if I could get that dark blue one, I'd *really* have the perfect spider. (My Deth is named TARDIS. >.>)

So, green but with a darker carapace? Are these anything like what you were after? They're very similar, obviously, but the first is more bluish-black. I'm not sure which I prefer.

Here's a couple with more contrast. The latter has the white feet but the yellow is less saturated as well, unfortunately. I don't think it looks as good, as it loses the strong "lemon butter" colour that makes the yellow so awesome. I'll have another crack at it later.




And while I was making those, a few others I produced...

A darker, high contrast orange, and a dark high contrast red (which I prefer to the one I posted previously). The black of the carapace really goes well with the dark red:



Bright cyan with white toes (I think it worked better than the yellow did), and a dark purple:

love the new black green one and the black purple is awesome, i'd probably have to name it blacklight

I see a Vephriel spider though i kidna love the purple one too (you should have made the glow green then im sure Vephriel would nag blizzard until they made that skin )

As requested by Veph, some crocs.

I tried some of each model. Most of the ones I generated were fairly somber, as they look strange in saturated bright colours. The older model is a bit more forgiving of that, but they still looked a bit plastic if I used colours that were too strong. Anyway Cataclysm model first:

A couple of true blacks (the in-game "black" is more of a dark magenta). I couldn't decide which fin colour I preferred:



Strong dark blue with red fins:



A brighter green than the in-game one:



Dark purple:



Something different. Red with blue fins. I like the way it came out:

I generated a lot of old-model crocs of all kinds of colours, but in the end discarded most of the bright and saturated ones, even though I was sad to throw out some of them.

Blue:



Teal and dark purple. I really like the markings on these. One one way and one the other:

Two greens, one with a bit of purple:



Olive brown and teal. I think she turned out really well:
