Oh yeah, I also saw on MMO who they drop from. It says the drop chances aren't too bad, but when this is released, I'm going to pay Chromagg yet another visit. Let me go find the page again.

Let's keep this thread on topic: there's one already for the minipets. This is for the rare tameables.

Got the PTR downloading but won't be finished before I leave, this build is defiantely bigger. Might need to wait till tonight before I can go checking again.

For those keeping an eye on things: I did a fly through Silithus, Un'goro, Hinterlands, and Feralas without finding anything new. I also passed over Winterspring (trying to find a Snowy Owl) and didn't get any pings, but I wasn't actually *looking* for it, since I know there are others more interested in finding things there than I am.

This isn't to say that nothing's been added, or that nothing will be added, but as of yet, nothing new popped up in those areas.

Well thats one less alt for me to check, off to check my others

When the servers came up, I covered all of Winterspring thoroughly and did passes over both Barrens zones, Feralas, Silithus, Azshara and Ashenvale. Definitely no luck in any of those areas for the time being.

Unfortunately Ghostcrawler stated in a twitter that he had no interest to make them tameable anytime soon. Nor did he give indication or promise if they would or would not become a family for the masses to have access to.

Throwing in Durotar, tree land and Mulgore as well since they weren't mention. Still nothing new which makes me sad.

Teledrissil non butchered in spelling, I never could spell that bloody tree right so in the guild we just dubbed it Tree land and were done with it.

Teldrassil you mean? :3 Tree land could mean many places such as Darnassus. A good way to remember it's name and a close spelling is breaking it into two parts(least it helped me) "Tel" and "Drassil". Or break the last bit into two parts "Dras" "Sil". Hope it helps a little!

Ahh, gotcha. "Lowbie night elf area" would have worked too.

Ha true, oh well I was having a look round when getting those screenies of the Windsteed. Since she's so damn slow on the PTR it made sense for me to put those two in starter areas.

I've gotten an overview video together for these new rares: http://youtu.be/tbNsNci9Ifs. It's by no means all-inclusive, but some of the new skins appear there.

While working on it, I came up with a quick breakdown of all (so far) the families that are dropping in tameable level:
- Beetle (34 -> 22)
- Fox (13 -> 9 {for all hunters})
- Nether Ray (60 -> 46)
- Shale Spider (83 -> 29 {69 exotic})
- Sporebat (60 -> 44)
- Warp Stalker (54 -> 47)

Thank you, Kalli! <3 I've updated the main post with this information. I've also noted which of the rares use skins that were formerly unique to or only tameable on one mob. All of this can be found noted below their map locations.

Where possible, I've added thumbnails beneath each rare's name to indicate which skin they are, which should help avoid confusion in the cases of the rares that are found in zones with heavy filters. Each thumbnail should link back to the Petopia page for that skin, or, in the case of the entirely new skins, link to a larger image. While I do have larger images of each of the ghostly skins (thanks, Wassa! <3), I DO NOT have thumbnails for them yet. If someone could make them for me so that I can add them to the main post, I would be tremendously appreciative!

And, of course, thanks to both Kalliope and Wain for the thumbnails and images of the unused skins!

This is me being nit-picky, but the lowest level warp stalker before 5.1 is the level 54-55 Displaced Warp Stalker. (Everyone seems to forget about these!)

You're right! I always forget them. Sorry about that; fixed my numbers.
