Merektha and The Golden Serpent (dungeon bosses) are tameable. Reban (unarmored undead raptor) in King's Rest is tameable. T'zala (armored undead raptor) is not.*

The smaller adder-like serpents are tameable, although only the Classic equivalent right now, not the Timeless Isle Death Adders. Hopefully they'll be included, too.

One new color of BfA toad is tameable from a Waycrest dungeon. It's the dark blue color.

Looking through the Wowhead database, it's basically everything we've wanted that's reasonable from old content as far as families go: camels, alpacas, rams, mammoths and elephants, giraffes (as stags, also big hype), kunchong, guarms, shale worms, the old snake model, demon spiders, the pigs from Legion, rams, cloud serpents (classed as serpents). Lots of stuff!

Most of the undead stuff doesn't show up in the family listings, except Shadowlands stuff, but some of it does appear on the mob page (for example, Riplimb/Rageface from Firelands, which seem to be tagged as tamable as dogs). The one "family"/wider model exception that feels odd to me is beavers - either as rodents *or* riverbeasts; kinda brutosaurs as well but they are huge. Some individual models or mobs that could be considered reasonable (Celestials, Grong, some other notables) don't seem to be there but I think that's fine given the rest of the stuff we're hopefully getting!

Actually, the pigs were updated on BFA, and we need another gorilla replacement, we need Grong, idk why grong models didn’t appear on wild beasts and we had to stick to ugly gorillas

unsure how i feel about the wind serpents being tameable.
They are dragons. We even see some that can talk and are very clearly more sentient and self aware than all other beasts.
On the other hand, I do think they look awesome.
But it still feels very weird.
Oh well.

There's a bunch of animals that can talk to be fair. Gorillas, raptors, tigers, etc.

Most Cloud Serpents are basically animals.

Usually the exceptions are Wild Gods or something like Grong and his family where either magic or technology has amplified their intelligence.

Just cherry picking a few I found on Wowhead, but CHECK THIS OUT. If you check Wowhead's databases per pet spec, you'll see a lot of cool new stuff.
https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/npc=129 ... pterrordax First armored tameable pterrordax.
https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/npc=43438/corborus Shale Worms are tameable as Shale Beasts, along with Shale Spiders.
https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/npc=296 ... -pit-viper pythons are tameable as serpents! Includes the Pandaria ones!
https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/npc=135483/alpaca Alpacas are tameable along with camels as...Camels!
https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/npc=106 ... spiderling Edgelord spiders!
https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/npc=103 ... aw-scorpid NIGHTHOLD SCORPIDS!
https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/npc=134 ... choly-mule DONKEYS!
https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/npc=160051/nemaeus Lairons are now Feathermanes.
https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/npc=9498/gorishi-grub One tameable grub! They just gotta fix the rest!
https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/npc=123 ... ack-leaper All the Krag'wa toads are tameable! Well, only some, but the colors!
https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/npc=165 ... t-tauralus Tauralus are oxen!
https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/npc=169747/maw-roach Maw roaches!
https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/npc=76945/ironcrusher The last of Beastlord Darmak's pets can be ours now, as a Mammoth!

On the Shale Beasts note, there's a special one with a glow on it, but it requires doing some obnoxious stuff in Siege of Orgrimmar.
https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/npc=715 ... e#comments
And a funny note: We better have Shadowlands before Brewfest.
https://shadowlands.wowhead.com/npc=235 ... pink-elekk

Tauraluses are finally tameable, and all the beasts above, i know most people will be disappointed that larions will be feathermanes, but thank god I learned it, there’s never been a day more exciting than this when it comes to betas

@Wain

I noticed on Twitter that you were looking to find a source for the armored Iron Horde Elekk. Went to check WoWhead and asked someone who is taming stuff on the beta to verify and Steeltusk (WoD vignette/rare) is tameable

Undead raptor confirmed. Requires King's Rest, but that's a trivial thing to do.

I'm so excited with all these new pets. I am still holding my breath for a sprite darter though. If we can tame cloud serpents why not? I want one so bad.

I can’t wait to get a black mammoth, I’ve been waiting since the day I saw those majestic tall beasts, I’ve expected them to be exotic, but I’m happier that they’re not exotic for the people who play MM and SV, and those stitched dogs are not for me, still hyped for a soulseeker
