Today's my first day back to work after vacation. I wasn't looking forward to it of course (I miss vacation), but generally I don't mind my work.

When I got to my office tonight though I see that while I was gone they had absolutely nobody fill in for me.

Which means I have about 2 weeks of paperwork literally overflowing from my inbox, it's so fucking ridiculous. I'm not going to stress myself over rushing through this because it's not my damn fault they didn't bother to have someone do this while I was away. Everyone knew I was gone.

If these invoices don't get paid in time it's not my damn problem.

Ugh I'm going to be catching up for weeks.

I keep seeing this rant in Tumblr and Deviant art and that is the "selling/drawing original work vs Fanart" one.

I see people saying drawing fanart is not as good as original stuff or that you have not as much talent. We all know making something look like something else is hard work so you just look dumb if you say that to someone.

Look I'm not going to say I have a lot of experience at selling work. I've only had 3 tables at 3 cons (two being the same con different years) but even I can tell you fanart sells and original stuff is bloody hard to sell unless it's super duper good and I mean really good. The reason people buy fanart is because they want something they know and something they like.

Hell I'd love to sell my own ideas but I also like selling my fanart of things I like too!

Please don't even say people who draw fanart are not as talented or have as good imaginations as people who only draw original work. It's just not true at all.

Tried to use in-game voice chat to talk with friend. Apparently it doesn't work. At all. (Double checked both of our firewalls, everything was properly done, but we don't even get a mic by our names.) I'm vaguely frustrated.

I just want to RP...I want character development, and contact but there doesn't seem to be anything happening this evening T.T
I really want to get into RP but aside from one person (who unfortunately kept driving me into uncomfortable situations), I haven't had much chance to RP in WoW T.T

*Sigh* I can't help but feel a bit angry when I see someone who snagged a job like it's so easy to do. Half the people I know had a single job interview and got it. My boyfriend's been trying for MONTHS but nothing. He even has work experience but no one wants him. :/ He feels bad because he's having to live off me meanwhile and, while I can completely afford to and don't mind at all, I can tell he doesn't like it one bit. I really want him to get a job, he'll be so much happier then. But I just can't feel happy for these people (A lot of whom are friends.) who are getting jobs just that easy. Some of them don't even need them because they get student loans. My boyfriend's got NOTHING.

The other day, I was buying some comics from Forbidden Planet and the guy behind the till started mumbling about how unhappy he was having to run TWO JOBS. Uh, shut up and be happy you have TWO FREAKING JOBS, or hand one over to my boyfriend kthnxbai. Not only that but he works at Forbidden Planet and GAME! Like... the best two possible places to work for minimum wage in Middlesbrough. Geek and gaming shops? CAN I HAVE YOUR JOBS?!

I really hope he finds work soon. Then maybe I won't feel so bad for secretly looking for jobs too... >.< I don't *need* one, but a bit of extra money can't hurt.

Also, yay, doing nothing for Halloween again. Hopefully next year I'll be living with friends who'll actually put effort into these things. :/

I got my first job half a year ago due to luck, but my coworkers gave me plenty tips for when I apply for my next job. Make sure you/he checks back with the manager of the place after you/he apply. If you don't check back they will most likely not hire you. Make sure you stop by the place often so they know you are still interested (even after you are interviewed)

I can relate to your bf. I have nothing. I got 2 scholarships but they're not much so all I really have is my job (and she cut back my hours!--sorry for the one second rant  )

I hope those somewhat helped

I've been looking for a job for about 2 years now. :/ So trust me, I feel the pain. I'm going to college now to help my chances.

Didn't get to make a costume (again) this year. I have my old pyramid head one but I'm kind of tired of using that one every other year.
It might rain but it doesn't look like it will be bad. We hardly get anyone trick or treating in this town any more anyway. Just waiting for mom to get home now to see what the plans with the neighbors are.

I want to be better again, sick sucks. Right now my nose is so bad from all the crap coming out that I've been getting nosebleeds ;-; Why am I getting so bloody sick, so often, and having it cling so damn tightly to me this year? I've had frequently occurring colds before, but never have they been this bad and lasted as long as these one have been. Murrrrrrr. Really doesn't help that my cheque from the ministry for december's support is being held cause I haven't been able to work with my employment counsellor for a while now due to being sick.

C'mon guys, really, it's not like I want to be sick! And I told her I was sick! I saw her when I was sick instead of cancelling the last appointment I had with her! Give me a bloody break! I have to call this one place as soon as I can talk properly again, call the ministry so they'll release my cheque, and go in on the 13th to see my employment counsellor for a psych test or whatever with some people so they can make some sort of plan for me to handle my depression and anxiety. I -was- going to do all of it on tuesday since that's when I returned home after the weekend ('twas staying at bf's) but I ended up falling sick again!

*flip flops* I don't even know why I'm trying anymore. I was fricking done years ago.

I know them feels :( I have applied 5 times for higher positions at my current workplace and even tho I act in those roles often I'm told "You have no experience compared to x applicants" doesn't matter that I can do the do job and am more than qualified...it gets really discouraging to say the least but never give up!

My partner has tried for years to get a higher paid job in IT but hes been knocked back everytime so he got a HR license and drives trucks on the mines now for double the pay. It's not his ideal job and he really misses IT but sometimes i guess you have to think outside the box these days.

it is fucking 3 in the morning and the fire alarms are going off because some drunken asshole decided it would be fun to crack the fire sprinkler pipes

and when i went outside all i was thinking about was throwing clothes on and getting out so i wore my flimsy robe bc i wasn’t really awake

and this drunk guy came up and started to try and get me to mess around with him and got angry when i told him to piss off (other, not-drunk dude who i later spent most of the time talking to and who was p physically imposing got him to go away)

it took nearly twenty minutes for the fire department to show up and when they finally got there it was another ten minutes before they figured out what was going on

and they still haven’t turned off the alarms

and i have a midterm exam in chem today

EDIT: AND THEN I ACCIDENTALLY DELETED MY ENTIRE WORLD OF WARCRAFT FILE (WHICH, WHEN LOOKING THROUGH MY TRASH, NO LONGER EXISTS???) WHEN TRYING TO DELETE MY CACHE BC IT'S THREE AM AND I'M TIRED
FUCKING GREAT
ABSOLUTELY FUCKING GREAT

i'm so cold i'm gonna puke omg

Thanks for the tips guys. (': It really is discouraging when no one wants to hire you... and the one person who does call you back tells you to 'call them back when you have work experience'. Uh, if I had work, I wouldn't be wanting this job?! I hate this system, it's horrible. Luckily due to my boyfriend being on the job centre (He gets no money though thanks to my student loans, another retarded system.) he gets wage incentive in a few weeks time, meaning employers will get paid to take him on. Hopefully that helps some. It's just so stressful and urg... if uni wasn't enough for me.

Some new place down the road just opened and said they were looking for staff, he's already applied and I'm gunna bug him like crazy to get down there.
