Maye its the great grand daddy of the ravenger? I remember going on quests for the eggs. (That long forgotten family ould use some love, come to think of it.) Just an idle guess of course.
I think they will possibly add another family later in beta (didn't they do that with porcupines?) or sometime on live like with direhorns, which would be fine by me.
I am also curious to see what "old beasts to new families" will entail. (I bet grubs/larva end up in the worm family.) If they are feeling flexible enough to just rename some of the families it could open up a lot of possibilities. Like instead of calling it the shale spider family, call it shale beast. boom, shale worms for everyone. some creative naming to the existing dinosaur families could also be a good excuse for adding more dinos, dread ravens and the like.
So at the moment it seems likely that a "Rylak" is a type of chimaera. At least this spell uses a chimaera icon:
http://wod.wowhead.com/spell=155459
Though the spell refers to fire and heat, but chimaeras traditionally used frost breath. :/

.Yup, these are the three new hunter families (with TONS of additions to older families) (Muffinus)
.Still no clefthoof/talbuk though, considering it for the future, we'll see how things shake out during beta. (Muffinus)

the new beast models look really, really cool, are the hippo's considered ''riverbeasts'' for taming? also those sporebats wow <3
Yep! That's a Riverbeast, the sporebats also have cool glowy bits/particles (it's hard to tell in screenies) (Muffinus)
and I assume some of those new boars will be tameable, correct?
Yep, lots of new and savage skins for the older families #teamsavage (Muffinus)
I haven't seen that mentioned here on the forums yet (though I could have missed it) but it looks like we gonna get some added goodies to existing families :D
Check out some arty stuff?

Plus, confirmation that Clefthooves and Talbuk are at least candidates for the future or possible even for this release expansion! That's hopeful enough for me.

How many new hunter pets are there going to be in WoD? How many of them will be exotic?
3 new families, 1 of which is exotic, and many new models/skins for existing families.

Do we know which one is exotic?

The last info we had (one of JF's tweets) was that Hook Wasp was the new exotic family. It's marked on the OP :) Unfortunately we haven't seen a model for them yet.

There was a new hunter weapon model that looked very much like what we might expect from a hook wasp. Maybe that was it?

I hope Hydras fall under "many new models/skins for existing families" and isn't being counted as 1 of the 3 new families. I could technically see Hydras going both ways on that one, but I hope the 3 new are actually new.

Edit: Ahh the tweets between Celestalon, Muffinis, and Aura_Warrior confirmed that River Beast, Hydra, and the Hook Wasp was the three new families being added. Guess I'm a day late and a dollar short :?

Aaaaaalways.....

Edit: On a serious note, I really love the boars. The wolves I feel a bit meh about. Like, I don't hate them, but I don't particularly like them either. I can't decide if it's the manes making their heads look huge, or just the bulk of the head itself. I'm wondering if maybe they made the muzzle a little narrower and perhaps shorter, it might fit better?

I like the talbuks as like a new mob, but not to replace the current one. The current ones are beautiful and slender and graceful. I think the new ones would make great talbuk stags, though.

The new clefthooves are just meh to me. I don't care for those enormous tusks at all.

I really like the new chimaeras, mostly the "fuzzy" one I believe you guys called it? They do look skinny, but the model itself just has an overall "plagued" look to me, so I think the skinniness of it fits. Again, I don't think I'd like them to entirely replace the original models, but rather just be an addition to what we already have.

I hope there's at least one version of the new hydra skin that's unique and given to a rare spawn.
