Congratulations JezzebelPop! Wonderful luck indeed! I've never even seen a dud camel figurine. The odds of finding one at all must be extremely small. I hope I catch some of your good luck vibes for my mount runs.

Got my Volcanic Stone Drake tonight.

Finally got a Swift Forest Strider from the Darkmoon Faire! I opted to wait until I had all the pets and I have the bear so I have them all!




Btw it COULD have been a triple whammy of cata rares for me, when I logged off to play an alt on Saturday I left my hunter at the Abyssal Depths Poseidus spawn and I was later informed that someone I knew got it at that exact spawn about 10 mins after I logged off... Why did I have to go play that new alt of mines... -.- Darn my curiosity for the Goblin starting zone.

Thankyou Bangeal! It did take me a few months to find my first dud and they remained few and far between even until the last one. I never found 2 in the same day, usually a week or 2 between duds if I was lucky. I found my first one while being more interested in Blue Madexx and was surprised to see a camel rotating at the bottom of my screen instead of a big Scorpid. After I found another while doing Archaeology I looked up the best path and just did one or two fly-bys a day, sometimes only the one, sometimes 3 or 4 times a day. Depended on my mood really.

Saturday! I've never actually seen him myself, but I check the auction house and there is almost always a new Reins of Poseidus on a Saturday.

I think at minimum it can spawn on a friday. 72 hour timer and whatnot.

Right I've figured it out! To get rare spawns you just have to narrowly miss them once and the next time do the following.

Camp your rare spawn (in my case Poseidus) for around 4 hours, doing the occasional scout of the area until a stacker comes and makes you move.
Rant to a loved one and get annoyed because apparently YOU are in the wrong so then come on wow-petopia and rant in Everdeen's mount thread to make yourself feel better and make sure to wish them luck too!
Go for dinner which lasts around 20 mins/half an hour, watch a bit of the sports that are on (christ Jamaica, you so fast!).
Log back on to see a new person in the spot you just zoned in at so try to mount up on seahorse but miss-click on a normal ground mount (lol I looked like a fool). Watch this person spaz at you before going off to a southern spawn point so you go in the opposite direction to the northern one.

Feel your eyes almost pop out their sockets when this happens.



Voila! Rare spawn found! Time to kill and loot the beastie!




As you can see in the bottom pic there was someone who arrived a bit late. That was the same person that spazzed out at me and swam off when I logged back on. They were literally seconds too late and arrived when I was still looting and learning the reins. Did they say grats or anything? Nope! They sat in silence at the corpse for ages possibly having a massive rage in /g while I swam around gleefully on my new pony. Another thing to note is that they belong to the top raiding guild of my server! :p That's me never being invited to their guild! Not that I'd ever want to, a bit too hardcore for me to manage.

Also the time was 19:48 UK time, 20:48 server time on an EU server on a Saturday. The zone was pretty empty for most of the day, myself and 2 others for much of it. One point I was the only one there. I was terribly lucky, I was only getting around 10 mins on the computer before my fiancé got his turn.

So if you saw my last 2 posts in this thread you'll know how stupidly lucky I have been, all 3 cata mounts that drop from a rare spawn of sorts in the space of 2 weeks! I don't know why or where the luck came from but please have it all!!!

Haha, I named mine Thor for... obvious reasons. And it totally stuck, I couldn't think of naming him anything else after that.

My worgen has a Skoll named Thor as well! It really is the perfect name for him, hee!

Mine is Vihar, haha. Still storm-related! Although just using Skoll is perfectly legit with its basis in Norse lore. o_o

I've had an eventful few days myself. Yesterday Aeonaxx, today Time-Lost Proto-Drake. Both were practically right on top of me when I logged in. I only had to move a spawn point over for Aeonaxx and TLPD was flying right at me.
