The other problem is that my mum has work now, which means she's out all day and the other cats would be the only ones keeping her company a lot of the time. When we brought her back the first time, the other two remembered her so there's no problem there. It's all up to my mum and... whatever decision she goes with, I'll support that, but I can't say I won't be disappointed if she decides to let her keep her, but I'll also feel guilty if we bring her back and she's not as happy as she was... Even if she's getting overfed, she was happy, and taking her from one house to another and back again will no doubt confuse her a little. That's also probably part of the reason she left again.
Another, slightly more petty thing that bothers me is that this woman called her Nancy when she found her, and whenever she speaks to us she refers to her as Nancy and *urg*... thanks to her, I can't stand that name. She's OUR cat and she's called POPPY. Not Nancy. She would be dead without this woman's help, so I thank her for that, but ever since then she's gotten it into her head that Poppy belongs to her and... urg, piss off. :/
This might sound bizzare but do you think she lured her back and maybe kept her inside so she couldn't get back to you? This woman sounds like she wants to keep your cat and the fact she wants you to tell the vet that she's now her cat makes me very suspicious - if you found someones cat and knew who it belonged to don't you think you'd tell them? If you keep cats indoors for 2 weeks or so they associate that as their home...I would take her back. She's your beloved pet, if this woman wants a cat she can go rescue one. She sounds like a freak tbh.
Honestly if she has other cats for company thats enough for them. They don't need people all the time like a dog. Cats are solitary creatures. We have 2 cats and I work all day, they seem very happy just being with each other. They only get upset when we both go on holiday but during the day they are fine. They are also indoor cats so maybe its time Poppy became one too

^^ This, so much this!!!!! A person who steals anothers cat from a loving home, cannot be thinking whats in the best interest of the cat. That she not only stole the cat once (resulting in Poppy being in poor fitness/health) but has now stolen her again!?!
I'd personally get Poppy back from her captor, and call the police to report the woman for theft!!! Stealing is NOT ok, it is NOT fine, and letting her Keep Poppy is telling her that what she did was Alright and who's to say she won't do it again with another person's furry family member?

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your words, I really do. (:
As I say though, it's still completely up to my mum. :/ If I lived at home I'd feel the need to speak up more about it, but since I'm not, the most I can do is offer my opinion and hope that my mum does the right thing. The woman who has Poppy did say she won't let her get fat again, but we barely know her, so god knows if she's telling the truth or not. I really do want her back, personally... My mum's having a good long think about it. I'll also tell her I got some opinions off you guys too and tell her what you said. I'm on the edge here. I just don't know what to do... which is funny, because there's nothing I really can do... >___<

Oh snowy what a horrible situation. I hope your mum does go and get her back <3
MAJOR WORK RANT: Omfg I will be the entirety of my team tomorrow (4 ppl eseentially) as one person FORGOT they have leave, 1 x on holidays, 1x offsite and 1x sick ...so I tell the manager that I think perhaps i should stay here (im meant to go do a task at a offsite location - very meaninal work and something that can defiantly wait) as i will be the ONLY support person here and i get "the <blank> are priority" WHAT! So I have to go do what i see as waste an entire morning doing this stupid insignificant task cause the senior staff member there is too fucking lazy to do it herself (the previous one did her own filing) while i do my job plus THREE others tomorrow....just the mind boggles. The shere arrogance of some people just makes me want to scream and strangle them. /dies x.x

She probably lured your cat back with that sweetened milk. This lady sounds like she really doesn't care about Poppy. If she can't even feed her right (and I don't believe for a second that she will suddenly start feeding her right), will she also neglect to take her to the vet if she gets hurt/sick?
Poppy is FAR better off with you and your mom then someone who seems to conveniently forget things for months at a time.

It seems like my mum's warming up to the idea of what you guys are saying. I literally copy/pasted all your responses into a Facebook post where I was talking to my mum (unable to call her right now so it's the best I can do) and she thinks you're all right. I had to laugh a bit when my mum said she *did* call the vet... but not to tell them that the cat was now under someone else's care. She called them to explain what had happened and not to treat Poppy under that woman's name! She's now also got the police and RSPCA involved. Having exact dates for when she went missing helps, luckily I remember that sort of thing.
I'm still not entirely sure of the whole situation since I live half an hour away from my mum but by the sounds of things, my mum isn't happy anymore with the idea of this woman keeping her. Apparently, she did indeed 'lure' her in with food. Poppy didn't go straight to the house, it took about a week of getting her attention with food and milk before she even came inside. So it's not like she went back because she prefers it there, which warms my heart a little to think about. If Poppy's gone and got herself lost once, it can happen again, and that's what I've put it down to. So, as far as we're both concerned, she's lured Poppy in, made her an indoor cat and waited until she settled there happily before calling us and telling us she was happy there and that she's now her cat. And that's not right *at all*.
Sorry for basically taking over the rant thread with this guys, but it's a sore situation that really needs venting about. :/

You're fine Snowy and I'm glad your mom took our responses to heart. We're all animal lovers here and we'd not see to this woman stealing this cat.

I am so glad your mom got the cops and animal control involved. This woman sounds off somehow. I hope you can get Poppy back safely. Might wanna have your mom keep an eye on the yard too, and call the cops if she finds anything weird.

I hate my job. I love seeing movies for free, and I love most of my coworkers, but I hate my bosses. Don't change my schedule and not tell me then blame me for not showing up...

I don't PVP but... what's wrong with a chimera? They have a slow, and they're big and floppy and hard to target around; I'd think they'd be a great choice.
(A lot of pvpers seem to be jerks though, from my experience.)

Yesterday I manage to hurt myself pretty badly. I wrenched my shoulder/neck and I've been in pretty horrible pain since.
I have to keep my head at an angle or else It will hurt too bad. I couldn't even sit earlier, I had to lie down with a heating pad.
My mother has helped me by putting Bengay on the area and it seems to be helping a little, but I really wish it would stop hurting.
It was so bad, when it happened, I was actually screaming, I know it sounds like a baby thing to do, but I swear, it's awful. I actually went a little hoarse..
:/ If it doesn't get better soon I might go to the hospital... I don't know if that's a decent reason to go though.. :S
