The Legendary Birds have been and always will be my absolute favorite trio of legendary Pokemon (NOT because they're from Gen I, either!) and I will always like them more than most of the other trios that came into the series later. I like Entei and Suicune, but I've always been bothered by a few things about Raikou's design, which keeps me from liking him as much as his siblings. In close second for me is the Tao Trio from Gen V, who I prefer over the Creation Trio from Gen IV even though I really like Dialga. I personally don't mind Mewtwo and I absolutely can't stand Mew. I personally don't mind that there's quite a few legendaries, but, as stated above, it's all a matter of opinion.

I also don't like how they dumbed down the fights with the box legendaries just because you're required to catch them. Seriously, if you're going to give us an epic music track to listen to in the background, give us friggin time to listen to it, not ten seconds of 'battling' or being forced to let the game sit there doing nothing. Let us listen to the music while we're fighting the legendary! They should've gone back and took a look at how they integrated Ho-Oh/Lugia into the story in HG/SS, because they did that without dumbing down their catch rate and without 'locking' the right to try for the shiny versions. Back in Gen I, the birds and Mewtwo were impossible to catch unless you inflicted a status ailment on them, otherwise, your ball would miss completely if you tried just sitting there chucking ultra balls at them. My least favorite generation personally is Gen III even though it introduced Grovyle and Absol. To me, it just felt like a giant step backwards in comparison to the original Gold and Silver (and later, Crystal) even though I did enjoy the story.

I know I already mentioned it but I can't exclaim it enough. Despite the fact that X and Y's story wasn't that great in my opinion, the 'fight' with Xerneas was the very worst part. Really amazing cutscene, beautiful unique environment, gorgeous epic music... and you throw one Pokéball and it's caught. I never thought I'd say it, but I miss the days where you had to stock up on 100 or so Ultra Balls just so you could catch that one legendary. They were a pain in the ass back in the day... but nostalgia means that now that they've dumbed it all down, it just seems like a huge joke.

Another thing is just the gym leader fights. I never had a single problem with any of them. I don't even think I had a single Pokémon faint to any of their Pokémon. I stocked up on a bazillion items in preparation for the elite 4 and it ended up feeling like a waste because of how damned easy it all was. I had no problem. I really do miss the days where you had to battle Lance at least ten times and then you'd either win down to sheer dumb luck or because you *finally* came up with a good strategy. But this champion... this one felt like a joke to me. Also, despite the introduction of mega Pokémon, why is the champion the ONLY person to use a mega Pokémon apart from that one gym leader with the mega Lucario who basically introduces you to mega evolution anyway therefore was kinda required? I just... there were so many flaws with that game. It was so, so awesome... but still so many flaws that could've easily been avoided. No one was happy with how dumbed down it felt. I need to go back and play some of the older games sometime... and attempt Whitney's Miltank once more.

Anyway, may we redirect this rant to the Pokémon thread? It's been a little dead as of recently, maybe we can revive it and save the rant thread from falling into yet another discussion. Plus there's probably plenty of people who really don't care for Pokémon. ^^;

I am so sick of hearing about this stupid shark policy. I understand people don't like it and peaceful protest, petitions etc I'm fine with but when it gets nasty and personal sorry no. Threatening a fishermans family, really? Saying you're going to hurt his wife and children for doing a job is just over the line and its this behavior that makes people stop giving a shit about your cause no matter how worthy it is.

And channel 7 just over hype this so much its not funny. We do not need a facebook poll EVERY DAY on this. The trolls dont like it. We get it. Now can we have some I dunno news? I never once heard about the awful things in Ukraine (had to go to the BBC for that) but instead we have them killing a 4m tiger shark as "headline" news. Jesus. I've never had to unlike a news page before but ergh atleast Nine has national news on its page. I would almost believe the hype too if this had never ever happened before in Australia...but its been done for over 60yrs on the east coast! Yet the protestors arent going out to Qld and NSW to get a rent a crowd on the beaches there...-.-

I'm so used to my classes being spaced out, not having more than one or two hours of classes and lectures at once...

... But this week begins my first proper timetable of the year, and my Tuesdays consist of having *five hours* clumped together. Urrrgggggg.

So some strange company charged my credit card twice. I called the hotline and they locked my card. But I will get a new one in a week. So one week to wait is annoying me. Does anybody of you know about a company called TWX*Wbgames? It charged from the US but I live in EU and when I googled it I only found other people telling about charges to their cards they didn't ask for.

Do you or have you played any games that required a sub?

No, I played Lord of the Rings, but it's free to play. They also charged my credit card on January 17th and already again on January 20th. With two different amounts. So it can't be for a game sub. I also wasn'T at home on January 20th (was working on our new house) and didn't use my credit card. I wasn't even online that day.

So apparently my Brother-in-law "A" is VERY depressed. We know that he does suffer from depression, but takes meds for it, but today it seems to have really hit him hard. At 1:45pm my sister called me to see if I could pick up my nephew from school, as she needs to take "A" to the hospital to talk with someone, she just managed to frag him out of bed!
I know they've been having financial issues for quite some time, struggling each month to make the rent. Then there is an issue with his work when the ownership of the restaurant got changed over, some paperwork went missing and "A" can't get EI for the 2 weeks he was off work because the records of employment are MIA!!! Right after Christmas to!!!
Not only with that struggle going on, but they just had another baby (he's ~1month old now) so there is that stress added as well. It doesn't help that my sister has a $50K student loan to pay off, and has not worked for at least 2yrs... (who takes interior design courses during a recession, and then moves to a small town (well technically city, but its SMALL) and expects to find work?)

Anyways off to pick up my nephew now, try and get cleaning done....and hope that if sht hits the fan, I can toss my sister a bit of money for rent...of course then I probably wont be able to help people get the things they need on another site...
I really need to get my art a bit better so I can try doing commissions...

Doesn't sound good. But I never payed anything with my credit card in LOTR. So how did they get my data? I have an appointment with my bank tomorrow to clear things up.

When my annoying housemate comes down to annoy me while I do dishes and just blabs on about 'stuff I probably didn't know existed in WoW'. BITCH I PLAYED THAT GAME FOR FUCKING SEVEN YEARS LONGER THAN YOU. Stop trying to be a smart arse, noob. And get on with the fucking chores we've set out for you. They're there on the whiteboard because me, Corey and Sam have done them ourselves a thousand times over and you've done NOTHING. SO FUCKING DO THEM.

I just lost so much money today.
I cook for one of my moms friends. They pay me for it. Today I made my famous Meatloaf because they love it. I made everything perfect and got it all done. But my today they came early before I could work out the price. Its the price for food + $15 for labor.
Dad was up there doing the dishes and he normally does the pricing for me because I stress the fuck out when it comes to ANY math. Even1+1. I freak out. I stress. I break down.
So I go get the door and go "Dad can you please finish the sticky note with the price?" And of course he doesnt. So Im now up there with the guy explaining all the things he's now got and then I'm like "Oh if you can wait a moment. We're still working out the price" and I see its NOT done. So I stress the fuck out and throw together some shitty price and call it done. With my stressed out break down math, the Meatloaf + Mashed potatoes + peas and pearl onions was $20 total.
Which means I only got $5 for food. I spent twice that on food.

I feel like fucking shit. I feel like I'm in grade school again failing because I have these mental break downs when it comes to math. It proves to me that I am a retard and will never amount to anything, just like my 5th grade teacher said. He was right. I thought he was just being an ass.
I kinda wish my parents would just come out right and tell me "Yes, you do have a mental disorder. You are retarded. Sorry about that." But they wont. Just tell me the fucking truth. The proof is RIGHT HERE.

Now if they come back and are like "Oh hey lets get more meatloaf and shit" and then they see the ACTUAL price that I charge them next time, they'll be like "WELL IT COST ONLY $20 LAST TIME WHAT GIVES"
and then I will fucking break down crying and look like more of a tool.

It's tough being put on the spot for that kind of thing, I'm sure if you explain what happened they'd understand. If they do get the same order in the future maybe just mention "Just so you know there was an addition error the day you got this before, I came up with a ballpark price off the top of my head, but it turned out to be way under. That's my fault and I'm sorry about any confusion. Just so you're aware the real price will be $___ so you're not surprised next time." or something along those lines. They might even reimburse you for that other hiccup if they're nice. Lots of people blank out if they're stressed and having to come up with something like that really quickly.

I suppose I could, if I don't break down on the spot. They're not bad people, after all. They're good friends of the family. But still. I'd hate for the whole "Oh poor Bowno" thing to start up in their family.

Thank you though, Vephriel. Seriously. I do mean it. You are right. I'm sure I'm not the first one who has stressed out over being on the spot like that, and I'm sure I wont be the last. That made me feel a bit better.

Also, Bowno, there's a thing called 'dysnumeria'. It's like dyslexia except for numbers. My mother has it, and as a result even though she's nearly 80, I still do her math for her (even figuring tips at dinner).

She's not stupid, or 'retarded' (far from it, her verbal skills are better than mine by a damnsight and she has two degrees, one of which is in biology).

But when it comes to numbers... yeah. What you should do is try to find help for the problem. You probably won't be able to get completely rid of it, but you can find out how to work around it and the anxiety that comes with it. But knowing what it's called is a good step to finding help.
