I just checked the bnet menu to see that the update CONVENIENTLY started the moment I looked. What wonderful timing that was. Time for my weekly dose of futile pink elekk checking, among other things I've logged out near.

Amber Guardian (Mogu'shan Vaults): Still does not retain its name.
Ventun the Ravenous and Lor the Loyal (Torghast): Still not spawning
Pink Elekk (Terokkar Forest, Outlands): Still friendly. still labeled tameable (come ON!)
Blood Seeker (Deepholm): Still impossible to find, little jerk
First Guardian of Kalliope (Bastion): Still does not retain its name.
Plant Hydras (Various zones): Still elemental. I know I can check Wowhead for this, but I still check manually since Wowhead's slow to change things.
(yes, I still hold hope for those even though I know it will never happen)

Still need someone else to check the two shadehounds in Torghast, just to verify if I can't see them anymore due to seeing them before. I don't have any other hunters to level.

I've updated Petopia with all the matching mounts from 9.1. Some will match new pets, some will provide a matching mount for old pets for the first time. You can see them all further down the list here:

I've also added matching mounts for the new untameable models (wilderlings, corpseflies, devourers, razorwings, etc.) but they won't appear in that chart since it focuses only on tameable looks. Those mounts do appear on the individual look pages for untameable looks, if you want to see them.

Next I need to do matching companion pets, but the info on which of those are officially in 9.1 seems a bit obscure. It doesn't help when there are pets like, for example, one pet has a shardhide icon for the item that teaches it, a broker worm icon for the spell in the pet journal, and a gromit for its actual model.

I just decided to tweak the family pages on Petopia to display the looks with larger thumbnails (170 px, instead of 100 px wide).

What do you think? Does this display the looks better? Or are they too big now?

The original 100 px size is over 15 years old and was set at a time when internet speeds were a lot lower. But we can't go too big or it just becomes difficult to browse.

That looks so much better, especially for those who have bigger fingers if their using a phone, I primarily use my phone unless I post screenshots

Yeah, that is a lot better.

Definitely looks better, especially to help spot the different looks on those with extremely similar looks. No more sitting ten inches away from the monitor either! (Joking of course. I sit twelve inches away).

New build today. Still no changes to Devourers, Gromits, Corpseflies, or Razorwings.

Nyemi is still underground.

I checked the same things I have my alts parked at;

Amethyst Guardian: Still doesn't keep its name.
Ventun the Ravenous and Lor the Loyal: Still not spawning for me.
Pink Elekk: Still untameable due to being friendly.
First Guardian of Kalliope: Still does not retain its name.
Plant Hydras: Still elemental.
Blood Seeker: I give up trying to find this. Seen enough Aeonaxx to never want to come back to this zone again.

I don't think we'll see much more in the pet department for this patch, except for maybe Razorwings at some point.

I finally found the Haofeng quest up in VEB today. He retains his name in 9.1 too.

The only ones left to check are:
Blood Seeker 3868 Deepholm
Junkyard D.0.G. 151773 Operation: Mechagon (Dungeon)

Still bugged and can't check:
Nyemi 177334 Rare Korthia (she's spawning under the world)

Were removed from their instance and may be gone for good in 9.1:
Lor the Loyal 166934 Torghast, Tower of the Damned (Dungeon)
Ventun the Ravenous 166933 Torghast, Tower of the Damned (Dungeon)

The two shadehounds hurt. I wanted both of them. Good to see Haofeng is covered though. On another note, I found another NPC that doesn't keep its name; Ol' Big Head in Maldraxxus. It's a random NPC and nothing of importance to any quests, but still a uniquely-named NPC that's tameable.

No changes to Devourers, Gromits, Razorwings, Corpseflies, or Wilderlings with this build.

Oh, good idea! I've added it to the suggestion list. Are there any others I've missed?

No changes to any beast families in 9.1. Zelnithop is a rare again.

Chances are we won't get anything new until the patch drops. Still, end of the month is the release date for 9.1.

Yeah, only 12 days till 9.1, so our chances aren't looking so great for any of the new models, other than shardhides and one aquilon. But we can keep hoping!

On the bright side, all the new colours for older models and the gorgeous boar model update are both very welcome!

Could be that we get a 8.3 where stuff is hotfixed in post release.

But hopefully we just get a flagging build next week.
