I agree that this is possibly the best gen! My nostalgia drives me to say Gen 2 is, just because it has my favorite Pokemon (Croconaw and that line), and about the time Gold and Silver came out is when I got a Gameboy. But really, each gen has only been getting better with new features and Pokemon.

There are a few things they took out that I miss, like crafting Pokeballs from Gen 2, or Secret Hideouts from Gen 3 (and 4, though I couldn't seem to use those), and even having the Pokemon walk around with you from the G/S remakes... I couldn't get into Gen 5 because of the lack of previous gen Pokemon that were catchable, and I didn't like many of the gens Pokemon at the time. I never actually beat Black version, nor did I get Black of White 2. Kind of regret it now, because there were a lot of features in that that I'm sure I would have loved, and apparently it has a great storyline. And, go figure, two of my Pokemon in my X team are gen 5. xD

This gen is just absolutely amazing though. I seriously love the music, especially in the town with the Mega Evolution guru. Also the gym battle theme! I like a good number of the Pokemon, and there are only a few that I'm not too fond of. I like that a large number of Pokemon from previous gens are catcheable, and that there's going to be a system to trade over the few that aren't, even if it's going to cost money. I love the trainer customization, Pokemon Amie, the stat training system - although, even if it's simplified from the previous version by a lot, I still don't really understand it xD. And the storyline! It might seem a bit kiddish, but I think it's really rather fun.

I think the only issues I might have with this game are that it's very easy to overlevel for something, and also that you're just handed a bunch of Pokemon. Not that that's a bad thing, just I never have any room! I feel bad for taking Lucario, he's just going to sit in my PC. I had a full team I loved already D:

I have positively fallen for Honedge in this. I just adore the lil possessed sentient sword! I like Doublade too, tho not sure how I'll feel about Aegislash. This guy has become one of my favs along with Golurk. And this game really brings the personalities out on them as well! Definitely agreeing that this game is the best one yet!

Any of you guys also fallen for any of the Gen 6?

I love my Honedge!!! Such a cool idea for a pokemon. (though I can't see the image you're trying to link)

The biggest surprise for me so far has been Furfrou. :) I didn't think it would be my type of thing at all, but I captured one on a whim. It was male, and I named him Sesshoumaru. Then I caught a Honedge and named it Tenseiga, so now I'm quite fond of them together.

I'm really enjoying Gen 6 though overall. :) I love my Froakie's evolutions, I can't wait to get Noivern, and Skiddo is too adorable. Also looking forward to those cute Halloweeny pokemon (I can't think of their names atm).

I named my Fletchling 'Pontiac' because I had no idea what to call it at the time of capturing. It wasn't really one I was dying to have, I just figured it would come in handy early. So I was staring at it thinking "what do I even name a fire bird" and...yeah....but I'm rather fond of the nickname now.

I'm adoring this gen so far! While not all the new pokemon are exactly my favorites, there are plenty that I love. And really, it just seems like they perfected so many things in this game. The movement, the graphics, the little things that make you more bonded to your team (like how their emotes/how you talk to them changes when you bond more, aaah), the animations and... well, everything. I really think this is how pokemon should always have been, heh. I'm having tons of fun and I'm not even to the second gym.

...Yeah I play really slowly. >.> My team is in the high 20s and I'm still trying to catch everything I can in route 7.

Also team update (hah like anything changed really)

Nathen, Quilladin, level 28
Cindy, Fletchinder, level 28
Lyal, Linoone, level 26
Ashbringer, Honedge, level 18 (got some catching up to do)

Alas, I'm probably going to retire Lyal and fill his spot with... something. I'm great at this planning thing. Might get an Espurr, though I think I want Malamar more. Oh and a Tyrunt. And and-

...Ahem. But yes. I'm really falling for my team. The Fletchling evolution tree might be my favorite of all the classic bird pokemon, I absolutely adore them and the fact that they're shaped/marked like Cedar Waxwings is great because they're awesome looking birds. And Honedge's dex entry is so incredibly vicious, I love it!

Ahahaha, no I totally agree though. The stylization of the 3D animations just exudes personality and it suits the game so well. They've been making steps over the years of course, once they started adding more animations in, but X/Y really clicks with me in how the pokemon are portrayed. I'm feeling much closer to them and even finding myself noticing ones that I didn't care about in the past simply because they look a lot better now.

I was worried initially that it would change the feel of the game too much, and that it wouldn't quite be the same without those sprites we all know and love, but I've been nothing but impressed so far. I was also hesitant that the 3D wouldn't look very good, you know how sometimes those cell shaded computer animation styles look sort of cheap and tacky? That was my concern when we started seeing a few teasers, but it looks far better than I could have hoped.

Delphox is my favourite of the three by far, but I'm not sure if that's made more so by the fact that I really dislike both Chesnaught and Greninja. :/ I ADORE Braixen, and I'm warming up more and more each day to Delphox, especially so now that mine's evolved into one. I'm so happy the wand didn't vanish and it's still tucked up her sleeve! Mine's called Trixie. <3 Took me ages to soft reset for a female haha.

In terms of actual Pokémon this gen, I like some and dislike others, but I'd say I still prefer it over gen 4. To me that gen was just a flop. Out of 107 new Pokémon, I only really ever liked the Shinx evolution line, Glameow/Purugly, Floatzel and Leafeon. In terms of gameplay though, this generation is the best BY FAR. I mean, yeah, what we have now could never have been done even a few years ago, but they've taken a step in the best direction possible.

The only things I've found so far that I could complain about are the rollerskates which I find hard to control at times and that the Pokémon breeder dude no longer lets you know if you have an egg available. Unless I've been doing something wrong, you just have to walk up to him and hope one's there.

Maybe it's like in Gen IV where the Day-Care Man would be facing towards the screen when he didn't have an egg for you, and facing to the side when he did? It was a subtle indication, but helpful when you noticed it and started keeping an eye out.

I'm also loving Gen VI. Honedge and its evolutions have challenged Misdreavus and Mismagius for the position of my absolute favorite Ghost-type 'mon. I also absolutely love the mix of generations they did here, and believe that they did a wonderful job of it. Adding Riolu in at the beginning like they did in Black/White 2 made me really happy, since Lucario is one 'mon I ALWAYS have to have in my team for it to feel complete. I've never been so hyped for a new generation of Pokémon since the release of the original Gold and Silver versions, and while Gen II remains my favorite for the time being, Gen VI may end up dethroning it.

I used to be disappointed at Fennekin's evolutions for being bipedal, but I absolutely love Braixen now, and I can't wait till mine evolves. I was originally going to choose Chespin, because I liked Chesnaught the most out of the final forms, and Greninja's tongue as a scarf is something I find rather unsettling, but I like the design aside from that.

I'm just sad that it's only one Legendary Bird depending on the Kalos starter you pick, like how it was only one Legendary Beast back in FireRed/LeafGreen depending on your starter. A nice callback to that, and though I'm sad that it'll be Zapdos appearing in my game and not Articuno, I can just transfer one of mine come December... which is my only gripe, pretty much. I wish the Pokémon Bank was available now, so I can transfer my shiny Charizard and shiny Braviary over from Black, but that's just me being impatient. It's better they make sure that nothing goes wrong with it before releasing it, after all. ^_^

Never thought I'd say this...but thank ARCEUS for Combee/Vespiquen

Thanks to Combee having Sweet Scent right away, I'm able to force horde battles easier XD. Helps me catch those Horde-only 'mons easier and I love it.
