What most of us hunters that dislike it mean is that Blizzard (albeit this view might sound childish) with their story tried to really make it feel awesome, like;
(note: Caps does not indicate hostility, it's supposed to imitate enthusiasm)
"THESE ARE 8 AWESOME, UNIQUE PETS THAT YOU CANNOT HELP BUT LIKE, WITH THE STRONGEST ONE BEING DETH'TILAC"
And then three of the major eight are one, an owl that is in one or a few small ways somewhat unique, and recolored Gondria, essentially really making us scratch the back of our heads in confusion.

I would just like to point out that there is a huge difference between voicing dislike of a model (example: This reskin/coloring of spirit beast really isn't to my tastes; I prefer Gondria.) compared to something that sounds like borderline complaining (example: OMFG! It's just another lame reskin. Wtf.).
The latter is what gets people up in arms because it makes our community look pretty ungrateful and whiny. Not everybody needs to like it, but there are better ways to voice your dislike.

Qraljar.....I think you're missing the point.
Just because they're not awesome to you doesn't mean everyone else thinks that way too. I think the three we got are awesome and think, personally, a lot of people are throwing a shitfit over 3 creatures rather than just nodding and waiting for the rest to be seen.
And I agree with what Tyger and Nub said. Hit the nail on the head.

But I'm not, you're kinda missing what I meant
I meant that Blizzard admittedly overhyped alittle, and while many people can cope with it, there's also those who get easily upset (if I have to call it anything) when opposing hints get shown. (i.e. recolors)

Blizzard didn't say that, Qraljar.
8 new rare tamable beasts have been added, each of which provides a unique taming challenge. Will you be the first hunter to tame Deth'tilac, the rarest and most powerful of them all? Players will need to progress through the Hyjal Regrowth and Molten Front daily questing areas in order to unlock access to the full gamut of taming challenges.
The wording is VERY neutral. We weren't told we HAD to like them or that their models are completely new to the game, just that taming them would be a challenge. Any personal inflection is something you imposed on the announcement when you read it.
And I'm going to poke myself by noting that while both of the cats provide the same unique taming challenge, said challenge is still unique to those cats alone. And also, depending on the movement patterns, they may yet be less than identical. There really isn't a whole lot of information on Ahnka.

See, I can sorta agree with that argument myself. Thanks for wording it clearly, I'm a little dense tonight. :P it does seem a little odd, but there's no way to tell what else they have in store, really - at the same time, I can understand feeling a little apprehensive about it considering what we've seen so far.
As for being hostile, I know it was a bit abrupt but if I scare someone away from posting by saying things like 'whine' and 'STFU' there are other people here who could probably eat them alive just by being a little more coarse. :< Not saying it's appropriate or something I like seeing on the forums, but a commonly-used internet phrase frightening people away from a community is...well, they should probably get off of the Internet. And considering how hard the community came down on me just then, I think if anything they'd be reassured. xD

I thought it surely was a message intended to hype them up to a status where anticipation would be present and anxiety and hope would be wrecked. (Dramatization, those words, if I am to judge them myself)I am sure that if I think it was a message to hype them up, with so many people roaming the world, there ought to be a few others to agree x)
I'll be contemplating this deaf eye thing.. :3

Considering I'm still hyped, I'm pretty sure it's not over hyped. We've no idea what to expect next.

Omg, I just log on for the day, omg so much excite excitment, 3 new SB and more beasts on the way! Boo for the thread spiraling into more personally directed posts about each other rather than the topic.
After reading it all, I agree with points on both sides, but I believe we are done talking about it here, ya wanna keep it going, take it to PM's please.

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG I have been waiting for the blue cat ever since they released the 3 data mined pictures back around Ulduar times.
I was soooo sad that the blue one did not make the cut, and as much as I liked gondria, I pined for the blue one. I only tamed gondira for a short period, but back when we only had 5 slots I just could not feel the connection. But now.... omg now I can tame the blue kitty of my dreams!!!! and she will run next to my spectral tiger and cub and I will die in happy fits of ghostly blue! I'm so very very happy!
