Hehe i like the pink/purple pets. If i ever return to WoW again, and these exsist i will have to make a Belf barbie huntress with all the pink/purple pets... and they all will be named girly names like Bubblegum, Candyfloss etc

All those sporebats would look great, the last dark/black one would have worked great in the dead mire

All the moths would work, though not sure about the first personally

All three of those dragonhawks would be fantastic

The first and fourth rhinos would work, especially the fourth one

Those two raptors would have worked awesome in netherstorm

The red bat doesn't do it for me, but that last one does

That second last wasp looks fantastic

As far as that big pink post goes, the dark pink fox would work, i could see that on azuremyst isle. the firefly, both wind serpents, the dragonhawk, crystal owl, and parrot all work

Ever wondered what a Corehound/Drakeadon progeny might look like? No? That's ok, I wondered it for you. The answer is... horrendous.

Since corehound and drakeadon skins are so similar I tried blending their colour channels. For the most part they look like abominations, but I thought they were amusing enough to post a few pics

If ravens ever become tameable (and if seagulls can, why not?), you can actually get five other really lovely dark colours out of just the one skin simply by colour channel swaps:



(The original skin is actually a very dark blue)

Those little ravens are cute. ^_^ You're right about those corehounds though...they don't seem to blend well.

The corehounds actually work in a really weird way - not in-game, but artistically, they're almost kind of nice because the colors are complimentary for the most part - and when they're not, the fire kind of brings them together.

I can't say I'd tame one, but it'd be nice to see a painting based on 'em, is what I mean.

I love my current seagull, but would definitely replace it with one of those brown or green ravens!

Actually, the two corehounds with red and bluish mixes look kind of neat.

I'm totally in love with the blonde rhino. It's so super cute! Also....wtb a pink corehound! But no, really, I don't have a corehound because I'm not thrilled with the skins out there. I love love love the dark dark red one, especially. I'd tame that and drag him around with me everywhere.

Ooh, I actually rather like this one. With purple flames it would be awesome.

I love the way they've given the ravens that dark metallic sheen, much like real raven colouration. So it looks good no matter what colour you change it to.

The ravens are all lovely.

i love that the ravens feel is very soft, kinda muted but the sun spots where the light shines on them are really prominent (good way) and the colors are very noticable instead of slight hints that can come with models that are naturally very dark. For the models that only have dark skins i really am surprised they came out as vivid as they did (very much like the monkeys, were you were worried (well kay, i dunno if you were worried about them or not lol ) that they'd come out not so great because they're, to quote you, dark and sombre)

I was surprised how vivid the ravens are, too. I think they got the colouring for the in-game skin very much right. "Black" birds look matte black in dull light, but catch them at the right light and the colouring glistens. It made it possible to switch the underlying colour (blue) and still make it look natural. I've seen wild birds with a green or purple sheen very much like how these ones turned out.

Will do. I expect they won't be very exciting though, as they're just a base colour on a body of brown rock. Not much room for anything unusual.

Kurken actually has blue flame. Light, silvery blue. I can change it to black and see how it looks. I can do this because the "flame" is in a separate image file. I made it pink for the Goth-pink Kurken in the pink gallery post.

Unfortunately I don't think I can change the flames on other corehounds. The flames don't seem to be in an image file you can just swap in, they seem to be bound up in the model itself. Probably some flame effect aura from a library somewhere. I assume this is why the Shadowmoon green corehounds have a separate model to the red ones, even though they're the same shape. They probably had to give it a separate model just to give it the right flame colour. Otherwise you get a green corehound with red flames, like Gomegaz.

As requested, some shale spiders I was most concerned with creating the two missing basic colours: blue and yellow. I also created an aqua, magenta, very pretty light green, peach, pink and two whites. Note the coloured prismatic effect on the legs of the second white one, and some subtle prismatic rainbow effects under the eyes of both white ones.

WOW. Those shale spiders are absolutely gorgeous. I'd tame the first blue one, the grass green one and that last white one in a second! And you know, maybe the second pink one, too. So pretty!
