I think I speak for everyone here when I say...

I will be happy to ditch my Sambas for this lovely tiger! Rare or not!

My Sambas wasn't really intended...but more of a rescue pet.

I love the new skin and will be getting it for sure. Most likely on my Worgen hunter and not on my 3 hunter, the Night Elf, though at 74 now, she'll likely be 85 before this patch is out.

Why not on her? HER model is outdated and blocky-I look at her as she runs and her blocky arms and shoulders make me cringe. Putting this pretty little kitty would do both it and her a disservice.

My point being, I love these new almost realistic pets and plan on getting them-but they look a bit off next to some of the older looking models of player characters in the game.

By her, you mean the night elf, right?

If you read the Q & A, Blizz stated they do plan to update the older character models. They just don't know when. So there is hope! Probably wont happen til after the expansion.

I just hope these cranes are ferocity. Or that they introduce a spec choice like they're doing for players.

On the topic of the tigers.... i have a bit of a middle ground view. I love the new tiger models, but I don't think they should just put the new tiger in place of the existing ones. However, I think they should redo the old models, with especial attention towards stylizing them to their vanilla shape/charm. That way they don't run into making it a matter of dealing with bad graphics for the charm, or using a nice model you don't feel attached to. also they could leave one cat somewhere who uses the original model for nostalgia purposes.

Just my brainstorming for the moment. The blizz panel mentioning updating the old graphics got me thinking on the right and wrong approaches to this issue.

That tiger is gorgeous. They need to update the wolf models to look more like wolves, too. I love wolves and would adore a wolf that you know, LOOKED like a wolf. Not just some saber dog or floofy sponge.

New tiger, gem cats, cranes...I wonder what else Blizzard will have in store for us with the new expansion. I do hope that they get around to updating old models and improving the poly count/skeleton/rigging/etc on them. But I also understand that it is a resource sink and no matter what they do, a lot of people are going to pull the "omg y u spend time on old, we want NEW CONTENT RAAAR!" card. Which is dumb.

Hell, if they fix old models, maybe human males won't have to suffer through that chronic cleft lip problem.

Yeeahhh...no, you don't speak for me, thank you very much. I like the new tiger, and I probably will make a spot for it in Tahl's pride...but I specifically went looking for his Sambas, aka Emmanuel, because I liked his appearance. I won't be giving him up.

Oh please. Tahl was being pretty darn polite - no one is attacking you here, just disagreeing. :1 I don't have Sambas, but I don't think I'll be getting the tiger either...I already have a cat I love.

Yeah, I'm not into this tiger, though I'm pleased to see another option for cat lovers.

*makes a face at Leo* Course, I can't exactly speak as a Sambas "fan," but he's not going anywhere either. He is special.

Dang, the fluffy new tiger placed next to the 2002 blocky tiger is pretty funny.

Player models are currently on the revamp, so I hope they'll maybe get to some of the more common and outdated creature models too. Most of the original critters in the game look frighteningly primitive, and other popular creatures like the regular tiger model look really dated.

The new tiger is a beautiful model, and I like it a lot. But Kalhoun will be sticking with his Sambas - they match so perfectly it's like they're long lost twins, goofy face and all. I may tame the tiger because I can, but I'd never "ditch" my silly poofy lion for it.

Hrmph.. my earlier post got eaten it seems? Odd.

I know WoW is cartoony and all, but I do rather like the current Tiger face. It may not be the highest quality and a bit blocky, but I'd take it over the new rounder face. (I mean the one like Rakshiri in my sig, not the old old mega-blocky Tiger it's pictured next to.)

All in all, not saying I totally wouldn't tame this Tiger when it comes out if I'm still playing(I really do not like the sound of this new talent system at all). I wouldn't replace any current cats for him, but I would add him into my pride.
