I can understand where people come from due to personal preferences of what is worth what, but Kraai clearly wanted this mount, and it was worth what she paid for it or she would not have got it in the 1st place. I know that I can spend up to $150+ on a big weekend and have nothing to show for it but a hanger over and a few fun, blurry memories....
Do that a few times and BAM! you could have had a spectral tiger that you will always get to use and keep.

This game /is/ my hobby and has been hardcore for the past year. I haven't had a single shred of burnout nor can I see myself having burnout because I literally /always/ have something to do - Thus this $600 was pretty much the equivalent of a vacation in the mountains for me.
Part of the reason I bought this as well is so that I have the gold to put towards getting my final grail. Top 100 guilds are selling Heroic Ragnaros kills for 500kish after their Dragon Soul progression and having not only this - but the one thing I want more than anything in my hands - would actually feel like I worked hard towards something. [[Which is a big deal to me.]]

Also: Cat Mounts have some of the most fluid animations in the game. Why not ghost kitty? :3

Since you're obviously directing this comment towards me since I'm the only person who mentioned this kind of thing at all - I know it's a hobby. I don't care what people do with their money, if I had the cash to waste away I would most likely buy a Spectral Tiger as well, given the chance. My comment wasn't intended to be mean or anything along those lines, I just have to wonder sometimes how people can either win this card and not be tempted to sell it or to buy it for that much money. Even for people who have a good bit of spare cash, that can be a lot.

Grats on the tiger, since I didn't say it before, I'm happy for you really, but some people on here really don't know how to take a bit of a joke. >.>

Um if you really want to take credit for my comment, you can, but sadly it was not aimed at you, or anyone in particular. If you really want to know what sparked my interest it was a combination of someone saying the same thing in raid yesterday...again... and the post directly posted above my initial post, I think it was zedxrgal's? But still it was not aimed at her, I was going off my personal experience

And yes, I 1/2 won this card myself. I started buying packing in the hope I would get one. I brought about 4 or 5 packs. Then one day in a crazy fit I brought a whole box $125 worth in one shot. And to my absolute delight ther was one within the box. I knew how much they were worth, but I was buying the dam things for that exact card. I would have not sold it, nor did I.

I did, for a while, buy card packs in the hopes I would get something cool. Not necessarily the Spectral Tiger, just some fun loot cards, I never found any though apart from the Landro's card which I got in the cards with the Cataclysm CE. The idea of being able to open a pack of cards and finding a loot card inside is pretty exciting, but I don't have the money right now for that. I'll probably do it again one day once I have more money (Christmas totally drained me. xD) but that wouldn't stop it being tempting to sell a loot card if I found one. I probably wouldn't though, especially if I'm still big into WoW.

The trouble with the TCG mounts is that one day WoW will end and they will go pop and disappear. Now I can understand that about subscription fees etc as well but for the time spent and entertainment the sub is not that bad value for money. But $500 for a mount that *will* not exist whether you like it or not at some (probably not all that distant) future just seems a little excessive to me. If I won the lottery or something then yeah, what the hell, I'd buy 'em all. But unless I could pay for one with in-game gold I don't think I'll ever get one (used to buy packs to try and get some loot cards, never got a single one), though if they put a Barrens Giraffe mount in through the TCG I'd be sorely tempted.

Alot of them also have in-game parallels (burning hippogryph/blazing hippogryph, spectral tiger/spectral horse/wolf, bear/darkmoon bear etc) as well. I do wish there was a different colored savage raptor or woolly rhino available in-game though.

Everquest has been going for how many years now? They've never had even close to the amount of support and numbers WoW has.
The game isn't going anywhere for a long time.

I quit my guild today.
I have never /once/ been late to a raid and I've always pushed myself to my limits for DPS. They've done nothing but treat me like crap, lie about helping me get the Firelands meta and call off raids last minute thus causing me to miss Christmas Parties and family events. Last week I stated I /might/ be late due to going out to my birthday dinner. Nobody said happy birthday. I left the dinner early and got on an hour early.
This week I had to leave early due to a family event. It'd be after Ultraxion which the GM kept calling after anyways without really letting us push any farther - He told me "Are you always going to have to do something on raid nights?" despite the obvious and then decided to bench me because it's "too hard to find a pug."
Yeah no. I'd rather not raid than raid with people demanding they're going to roll on mounts on their alts in group 2 when they're doing Heroic Ragnaros anyyways on their MAIN for the mount and I don't want to put up with people bashing the entirety of my group because we don't do enough DPS compared to the fully heroic firelands group.
Douchebags. The lot of them aside from like...2-3 people.

Sitting around in Orgrimmar with some friends afterwards I was like "wanna do dungins?" - Guess what they went and helped me finish?

Since you said my name I felt I should respond. And no my comment wasn't meant to be mean or offensive to anyone at all. The issue is, for me, the mounts DO sell for a lot of real life money. Money I could really really use. It's a gorgeous mount and yes I wouldn't turn one away but at the same time I'd be very hard pressed not to sell it for real money if I got the card for it. I've never had that much gold in game in all my years of playing to buy one nor have I seen one for sale. lol

I'm seriously temped to just call a group for a week to knock out as many achievements in there as possible. 2/7H being the minimum requirement to get in to worm out the derp raiders on an RP server. However - Would that actually work? We'd still need a full 10. - _ -

I'm seriously getting sick of "raiding" guilds on this server. Either they treat people like crap, the gm ninja loots mounts or they just /suck/.

For some reason, a lot of 'the best' raiding guilds seem to be like that. They're too busy being all high and mighty and stuck up their own arses to care about anyone who's not super important to their raiding team and guild. And that's one big reason I've given up on 'hardcore' raiding altogether now, it causes too much stress and it's depressing when you find out no one really cares about you and they're basically just using you for your DPS or whatever. I'll stick to older tier raiding and mount hunting.

However she was offering a Blazing Hippogryph for trade for it.

Guess what popped up on the Horde Auction house for 90k later that evening?



Obviously I'm excited and shocked I managed to get it for such a low price.
The wings seem...off to me though. I think I'd like it way more if that yellow weren't such a large chunk. It has my favorite face amonst all the birdhorses though and really is a hell of a lot more beautiful than Flameward.
