Oh so I wont shovel out like $100 like you would for wow?
Not quite lol, iirc you can get the expansions grouped into one set too. They're older so they arent too expensive.

Oooh, do I have to buy all the previous expansions to play Guild Wars 2? I was thinking it was it's own sequel/separate game. Darn, hehe.

I'm not sure on that, but for HoM stuff iirc you do. That opens special pets etc.

Oh no you don't need to play GWs to play GW2 it's a standalone sequal. As said above you only need to play GWs if you want HoM but that's not something you need just extra.

Haha sorry if I was being confusing at all! XD
But yeah the HoM is only for getting extra goodies (minipets/ranger pets/items/titles) for GW2. You most definitely will not need GW1 to get it(GW2).
Tip: having a GW1 toon lets you reserve a name(the names of your GW toons) for GW2 (as long as I understand it correctly). :O

is anyone able to post a screenie of their GW character?
I'm moderately curious about this game's "look and feel"
Is there a free trial out there too?

You may want to bare in mind that the GW2 is not be a lot like the original GWs. At least as far I know, but if you want, I know you can get a free trial of GW.

GW2 looks very much different from GW. The graphics and interface have improved loads.

That looks pretty neat. Gameplay looks pretty smooth. It seems a Ranger is kind of a rogue/hunter hybrid in this game?

Rogue? No. I do think classes are going to be more pure this time around though.
How it works now is you get the one class as your main spec and the attribute that is tied to that, then you pick another "class" as your additional...thing.
Like my ranger right now is a Ragner/Necro or "RN" she has access to both ranger and necro skills 100%. Only limitations are the way stats work, you get the one primary stat as an extra for whatever your main is, and you get some stat types for your additional deal just not the baseline stat for it.
Man IDK how to explain this. XD

Kind of like RIFT with being able to customize yourself into several different hybrid options?
