Just got this shot of my black tiger. I've fallen in love. He needs a proper name.

Just getting a better look at the dragon turtle model to compare to the missing parts from WMV:





The shell really stands out to me now, you can see in WMV how the folded ridges are actually three dimensional and stick out, but the in-game model just has a smoothed over look without any detailing. Also the way the spikes seem cut off at the sides of the shell where they protrude more in WMV. The missing fins as well of course.

Oh wow! I didn't even notice the missing things. Perhaps that's why I kept thinking something was missing.

Yeah, I honestly hadn't noticed at first in beta either until I was staring at my turtle going "Wait, don't they have a cute little webbed tail?" And then all the other parts started popping out at me.

I assume it's just not rendering properly in game, hopefully it gets fixed. I'm mainly upset about the shell difference, but I'm really really fond of the tail and ear fins.

Yup, I've heard opinions both for and against the webbing. It's one of the features that I personally love, but the shell is bothering me even more.

easy fix for the webbing; make it appear when they swim! The spiky shell needs fixing though, I think the model viewer one looks more dragon-ish.

Oh yeah... the shell really needs to be fixed. It looks so lame when it's less spikey. XD

I personally like the fins. Especially on the tail. I feel the turtle is just... sort of bland without them. =/

They should use both. There problem fixed.

Wow.. those pictures.. anyone else have a "whats the difference between these photos" moment? Sat there staring thinking ok.. something doesnt belong in the photo.. wheres waldo kinda thing going on.

Oh man, I hope they change the turtles. I really don't like the current model they're using, it's so boring. The shell ridges make them so much better.

Hmm, it looks like the skin has been mapped onto the wrong model entirely. How weird.

I'm guessing they changed them on purpose and went with the smoother look, again, on purpose to help differentiate them from the other turtles that are spiky and angular.

Those dragon turtles are really beautiful and I find it sad the webbing isnt there anymore.

Considering they have them in WoW model viewer, I'm guessing it's just a bug. I reported it on the forums (a bug is a bug) so perhaps they'll fix them soon.

IMO, WMV = Snapping Turtle look, current beta = sea turtle/leatherback turtle kinda look, personally I like both but I would prefer the spikier "meaner" lookin one, as snapping turtles are my absolute favorite of turtles.

I like the look that's currently in beta. It looks more natural than what's in WMV.

So glad it wasnt just me. I kept looking to my new friend thinking he was missing some things. I do hope they fix at least the tail and shell...loved loved loved the web tail and shell.

I still stand that they might aswell use both
