I have an idea of what needing the item to attack her might mean. It means that no random person who doesn't know who or what she is is going to go, "Oohh shiny." and then kill her, loot a new mount, decide they don't like it and never use it again. Since people will need the item to attack her first, people will probably have to camp with the item in their bags. Meaning that only people who intend to get her can. If that's the intention, I welcome it with open arms.

I didn't want to make a new thread when I knew this one was here. I just found this and I'm pretty sure no one's seen this before. Apparently you can kill her now! I'm guessing you need that item, whatever it was, to be able to attack her, but I wasn't aware that item was available yet. By the looks of things though, she doesn't drop anything yet. I'm betting she will eventually though!

I asked him how he got the item and this was the reply:

"Glad you asked! He was gathering a raid on a world boss, a Game Master took note and discussed some tanking/aggro with them, then later gave him the item 'to test with' I cant recall the name of it right now though, sky shard maybe? well we used it and it worked."

Hrm. Something sounds fishy about that, but if it's true, it's true. I don't see anything that stands out as it being a video from a private server, I guess we'll find out.

Okay, so, when this popped up on MMO-C today...

Thundering Ruby Cloud Serpent (New) Summons and dismisses a rideable thundering cloud serpent. This is a flying mount. Requires Cloud Serpent Riding from the Order of the Cloud Serpent. Account wide. 1.5 sec cast.

I became interested. Can someone who actually has their beta installed (AKA. Not me!) go and check Alani out and see if this mount might have anything to do with her, please?

And before anyone says that it might just be any old cloud serpent, it was the only new cloud serpent implemented this patch. Which means there's most likely something a bit different about this one. And Alani kinda matches the description if she's going to have a matching mount like Time-Lost, since she's, you know, ruby coloured. And thundering.

Well, the new beta patch isn't up yet, but it still required the item to make her go all "RAWR"
I wouldn't be surprised if she dropped this, though.

I'm pretty sure that mount was implemented quite a few patches ago... The only mount I'm seeing at all for this build is the Thundering Ruby Cloud Serpent. And well then... Wait we shall!

I just made an account here just so I could post this:

I was doing a new quest that implemented in the latest beta build, and look what I got while looting one of the mobs: http://i.imgur.com/iWN35.jpg

Check my chat log and bags. Also check my minimap for my location. It's the area in the Vale of Eteranal Blossoms where a load of quillen hang around. These quillen are called Stone Guardian.

I'll be farming these now. :]
