I want the cat 'so badly,' as you put it, as a constant companion--not a brief DPS cooldown--on my main. Not only that, I feel the 'if you want X so badly, reroll to X class!' more than a little insulting. Whether I roll a monk or not should be entirely independent of this model.

Thats funny seeing as thats how alot of Hunters treat each other but instead of class it's spec.

:S (useally allways comes up when Hydras are talked about ) I know I've been told that more than a few times!

At least another spec isn't an entirely different class.

Eh, not really...but I've had a bellyful of the Exotic debate in the beta forums in the past few weeks, so I'd rather not get into it here. All I will say is that if it's an existing non-Exotic family, it shouldn't be made Exotic. If it's not an existing family, it's up to the developers. Exotics themselves are one of BM's things.

To me it is in some cases that I've seen on this site.

Well i'm not really talking about exotics. Infact not at all really more the lines of people who go " Oh you want a pretty skin then you'll have to go BM" or the whole silly "it looks weird/odd so it must have to be an exotic even tho the most weird/odd looking familys are not exotics"
It's just so god darn silly! and thats enough of that for me I think we both understand each other!

If this does become tameable make it a bloody cat and not a SB so everyone can enjoy that as I don't see why every ghosty thing has to be a SB (besides like the ghostsaber) whos to say a mate of a god can't just be a animal and not some ghosty spirit thing?.

I wouldn't say it's a matter of "pretty skin must be a spirit beast". And there are loads of really gorgeous non-spirit beast skins.

I'd say it's a matter of this thing has an appearance like some sort of spirit or animal demigod so to me a spirit beast makes sense.

Then again, I thought Olm should be a SB but he isn't, so who knows? :)

Agreed, Cow.

And really, the whole, "Just switch to BM" is a lot like "Switch to another class". You have to relearn the mechanics of a spec. If you ask any hunter, they'll probably tell you that playing BM is not like playing Surv. If it was, then why would so many people swear by one spec and say they can't do the others? It's still a different play style.

And if everyone is so tired of cat spirit beasts, make it a regular cat. Then all the hunters are happy. Besides, like Wain said there are some spectral peculiar skins that aren't SBs. Ghost saber and Olm to name a few. If Corehounds weren't their own family I would've lumped them into SBs too.

And oh, why we're at it, how 'bout my fire mage gets her phoe--OH WAIT NO THEN HUNTERS WOULD WANT ONE. :\

Thats the thing everyone is saying it should be a SB for both those reasons. I just think it's silly thats all. :S I kinda like the skin but I'd never touch it with a 10 foot poll if it was a SB unless it was common or something

That would be kind of hilarious. And fitting! There are SO MANY KITTENS after all....

Yes! They seem to have a healthy breeding stock!

I think having it be common skin would be great! It's just looks so spirit beast like so the natural assumption is that it would be one. But imagine being able to tame one of the cute little kittens that roam the palace! But of course, they'd have to be neutral or hostile. Aren't they friendly now??

Yes, very friendly! And sleepy!

Oh, you mean friendly in terms of faction - that too. ;)

Those kids have got to grow up so I could see a pride of adult or teenish ones in another place.

But if it was just a cat instead of a spirit beast, we'd have the same gripes about it...'but we have so many cats already!' If the gripe's going to be the same, why not put it where it looks like it belongs? Of course, Olm is the wild card that may stir the pot, but I can't say I'd be terribly disappointed either way. A teensy bit disappointed if it was a cat, but I'm pretty sure I could overlook that for the sake of glowy blueness.

Some hunters already want phoenixes. I'm not one of them--a wee bit too elemental for my tastes (says the hunter with Skoll and a shale spider).

Well you'd just get the "we have too many cat SB " You'll allways have complaints no matter what sadly. Blizz just can't ever please us

Oh golly I'd not want phoenixes to be tameable they lore wise are elemental's that are bird like. I'd like them to stay that way. XD

This can all be solved by some cats getting a new skeleton of some kind! We're painfully aware of how large the cat family is because they all basically move the same way, regardless of which model base they are. Even the hunched cats feel the same. Urg.

And add me to the "no to phoenixes" pile. Definitely too elemental.
