A small size increase would be okay, but I think I like them at their current size.

Yaks are supposed to be big imposing animals. While Goldilocks is adorable, I can't help but feel "adorable" isn't really the essence of a Yak! I think they should be bigger. Rhino size or somewhere close would be my preference.

I think rhino size is too big. I don't like huge pets.

Yeah no. No glyph, I like the REST of my pets their nice normal large-ish size. I don't want to shrink the rest of my pets to put just one to a nice size.

Wain wrote:They're absolutely gorgeous at that size. I'd own one irl. It's like a pet dog with horns!
But the size is very silly. I'd be shocked if they intend it and will keep it. I suspect it's just going to some default size.
Perfectly phrased, Wain.
In the meantime, I love my little yak. <3

Wow! I'm very happy abou this change! I may have to rach change to Pandaren for the a new pet theme, August Celestials.
Red Crane
Green Serpent
Black Ox
White Tiger
Though I do hope they become their own family too. I don't want them to have the rhinos horn toss though. I'd like their headbutt to either knock their target down (ala warrior throw down), or have an impale mechanic like the latest boss in BH has, (the one that pins you to the ground helpless).
Don't get me wrong, being included at all is awesome, and I'll take a Yak type Goat without batting an eye. Just some wishful thinking though. Pandaria is turnin into a magical playground for me. ^_^
Also, I foresee white yaks named Appa, (Avatar).

The problem with the glyph is that it changes all of your pets, even if you'd only like to change certain pets' sizes. It's a cool feature for players who aren't that picky, but for the rest of us....

I know, but still, if you wanted a pet bad enough, theres always gonna be minor sacrifices, most of em being unable to bring said animal into dungeons if its particularly annoying (birds, glowing things, regardless of removed out of respect or told to by the other members), size, loss of a stable slot that you absolutely refuse to relinquish for a new extra awesome pet. All in all tho, towards the discussion of the glyph, i think it was a horrible choice to make it a glyph, like, i honestly have no idea why blizz thought it'd be a good idea to force ALL pets to be tiny while in the specc containing an embedded pet size glyph when some of them are extremely small to begin with.

Yep, the tradeoffs are why everyone's voicing their size preferences here.
The glyph is absolutely fine for players who need their pets to be smaller for extended periods of time, like raiders who are considerate of the melee. A more elaborate system is likely to require more resources to develop than is practical. Ideally, yes, we could choose such things and save them like our pets' talents...but it's unfair to call the glyph a "horrible" choice, when it's the best that could be done at the time.

With the easy glyph system, you could always remove it when you change pets and swap it back in, a bit of a hassle but at least that way we can have it big and small for both parties.
EDIT: Mine decided he wanted to warm his hooves by the fire

Pic attached.

While I'd prefer them being somewhat larger, I don't really mind either way. IT'S A YAK!!! I am SO happy!!! Gosh what a lovely expansion this is turning out to be!

Nod, too much of a hassle for me.

I'll just be happy with whatever Blizzard decides. ^_^

I had a yak named Oscar (.hack reference), but I got rid of him. Yaks look...stupid with Draenei. Even the mount is too tiny.
I'm iffy on the pet size. I wouldn't mind it being larger, but it IS pretty wide like bats. If their hitbox wasn't as big as the yak itself, I'd be content with a larger yak. Blizz has an uncanny knack for making hitboxes TOO big though, as we see in bats and chimeras; you can click AWAY from them and still target them by accident. I'm glad I never see them in pvp, but jeez. Below is how I think the yak hitbox should be (bold text being the box);
.____^ - Yak top
く░░░っ) - Yak Body
ん----ん - Yak Feet
.____^
く░░░っ) - Hitbox only in the body area. Just above and just below should not count.
ん----ん
Blizzard's hitbox would probably look something like this;
+++++++++++++
++ ____^+++++
++く░░░っ)++++ (´Д`。)...
++ん----ん ++++
+++++++++++++
I think I got that accurate. Anyway, regardless of size, as long as the hitbox isn't absurdly huge, I think the Yak would be fine either big or small.
