Photoshop/GIMP also do a pretty good job sprucing photos up. :P
Edit: Not that Veph's shots aren't nice, but since she has a border around them they've been touched up somewhat. :)

GW2 looks so beautiful already I don't mess with the screenshots other than resizing them and adding a border as my own little touch. :) Here's a raw screenshot in full size: http://img607.imageshack.us/img607/83/gw865.png

I guess perks of having a computer tech for a boyfriend, he builds our gaming PCs and always makes sure I can play the games I want in highest detail. All I know is I run GW2 with maximum settings in all graphics options, anti-aliasing turned on, and render sampling set to Supersample so it renders the game at a higher resolution than my screen.

This game is beautiful even on the lowest settings.

I'm just wondering if there is a way to increase the quality of the jpg screenshots GW2 takes. Mine I can easily see all the jpg compression artifacts. WoW has the command /console SET screenshotQuality "10" does GW2 have something like that?

That sounds amazing, I'm hoping to get a new PC by the end of the year that'll let me play GW2 in a much better quality than my current. I didn't realize just how much detail I was missing out on until I saw your shots.

I want.

You can have your screenshots save as .bmp instead of .jpg. :) The filesizes will be huge, but if you don't care about that it's definitely better quality.

Create a shortcut to Gw2.exe by right clicking it and clicking "Create Shortcut".
Right click the shortcut that you just created and click "Properties".
Scroll all the way to the end of the text in the "Target" field.
After the closed quotes, make a space and then type -bmp
Click "Apply" and close the properties window.

Ah, I haven't been retouching my GW2 shots either, but yours are so nice they almost look touched up! Goes to show you just how well they've done this game then, imo. :)

I'm looking forward to having my tech savvy boyfriend help me build my own gaming PC so that I'll be able to do this too. :D

Rata Sum and Metrica Province are such beautiful areas. I really love the sci-fi/aztec/egyptian sort of blend the asuran architecture has. The jungles are so lush and colourful at night as well.

Also, I think I'm becoming rather attached to my Murellow. I'm sure some people think they're ugly, but I find them fascinating. I liked reading this blurb about them over at the official blog. I named mine Chupacabra.

There are a some killable tuna in at least one zone, but I can't currently remember where I was when I killed them. As for the former, I've yet to see any killable whales in the game, up to where I'm at in terms of exploration. :P
Nice. I'm not going to get my hopes up on the whale as I understand why they would not have killable ones in game.

I need to start turning my graphics up for screenshots. I didn't realize I was having to play at the lowest settings until I was playing around with some friends the other night. Anyway, few more shots I've taken while out and about leveling.

I love taking screens from vista points, they're so beautiful.

This poor little moa decided that he was cold the other night and he would not leave this torch fire. xD I checked on him a couple of times.

I was having some fun with the dye system and really liked how this shot turned out with the colors and lighting.

A bunch of us derping about in the Asura capital. So, fire effects in this game are really cool; you can actually see the shimmer in the air around the fire and in the air after the fire fades for a second as if it were actually hot. These shots don't showcase it as well as having someone blow fire right into your camera. xD

Me too, Tyger. You can just get the best shots from it. And that color looks nice on you. :3

Oh dear gods, that thing is ugly!!!! Kinda ugly cute...perfect name for it though Veph!

What I am looking forward to is getting a Fen wolf, that thing looks so pretty in your screenshot!

At what level do you learn to "tame" new creatures?

You can tame creatures at any time and at any level. They don't even have to be the same level as you, all you have to do is find a Juvenile version of the beast, walk up, and Charm it by hitting F. Instant, no cast time. It makes it easy for hard tames (when they're surrounded by high level aggressive mobs, for instance). You can do kamikaze runs where you rush in, charm the beast, then die if you really want it. It's pretty handy.

Fern wolves are beautiful.

You 'charm' them at whatever level. and yeah...Veph said the rest. :3

coolz...guess I need to figure out where Fern wolves are...do I need to do something with my "active" pet?

Nope, you don't have to do anything. There are Juvenile Fern Hounds in The Grove (Sylvari City). You always carry all of your pets with you, you can swap between two active ones, but the rest are there.

And to keep on topic, here's some random screenshots!
