They should have made the Molten Core raid level 90, and made it so that any toon over 90 scales down to level 90.
It's incredibly stupid to give such a short time to hit 100 to participate in a limited time event.
and yes, for a lot of people those 10 levels WILL take time, not everyone can spend 5-6 hours a day playing a game.

I don't know about anyone else, but I do feel 2 months (or slightly less, unless my Maths is wrong, which is probably is) is plenty of time to level. Let's see...that's 8 weeks. You've got 10 levels. That's around 1.2 levels a week? 5 levels a month, basically. No, my maths doesn't add up. Ignore that bit
I think that that's a perfect amount of time. I mean, yes there's gonna be Xmas around the corner and all that November buzz but honestly, the corehound mount is from an achev. Kinda like the wolf from Garry. If you don't put in that much work, then you don't get the mount. No easy way out really, as you can't pay 10k to get a boost to 100. Personally, I feel that 2 months is the perfect time to get up. Then again, I don't work (but I still do lack as much time as some people) and I don't have children *shrug*

Yes. Now, let's ask: how many chances do you get per week to run the raid?
Thus, how many chances per week do you get to get the 'not auto-drop pet'? And how many chances per week do you get the 'not auto-drop enchantment'?
Say it's 'once per week'. That means we'll have six chances to get it on each character you have. Six chances total. *Max*. That's only if you leveled to 100 within the very first week of it.
*That's* where I have my major issue.

I agree with that. Maybe each run you dont get it, you get a higher chance the next time?

They could double or triple the chance of the pet dropping every time you run it *shrugs* i wAsnt thinking on the terms of the mini pet. I was thinking of the mount, which is a reward for killing Raggy. I'm guessing the pets on a 10% drop rate, and that it will double or triple every time you run it.

The Corgi mini pet is given to everyone who just logs in during the Anniversary. It is not a drop.
The 10-year anniversary celebration will begin in-game on Friday, November 21 and will last until Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 10 a.m. PST. Everyone who logs in during this time period will receive the incredibly cuddly, feisty, and fiery new Molten Corgi to love, pet, and call their own.
Ahh, I see in Twitter that there's another, unannounced one that is a drop, Hatespark the Tiny.

Yeah. I'm talking about Hatespark The Tiny, and the enchantment that was similarly announced.
Quote:
".@FunkFreshHill @TheCrafticus Repeat MC runners will have a chance to get Hatespark the Tiny and the Flames of Ragnaros enchant illusion

"
Note: 'Repeat MC runners' and 'A chance'.
I repeat:

On the plus side, Wowhead lists Hatespark as 'cageable', so maybe people who get it will sell extras off.
... ... ... for *TONS* of gold.

This may or may not be what I'm planning to do. I'm not one for companions, and I reckon the fire corgi will be the one I have out, as it's so cute. Perhaps level it to lvl25 and hello there 20k. Only if I get more than one drop tho. If I get more than one drop I'm making myself gold. I admit it shamelessly.

I think I'm fine with the amount of time we have for this.

I was ok before but really 6 runs isn't alot now I think about it (if you speed level through the first week - which as I'll be working probably won't happen). I've only gotten two drop pets from SoO in all the runs on multiple toons I've done - not holding out hope for this one (we've had this patch for a year to put that into perspective). It really should be released as part of the pre-event and into wod. But meh. Maybe I can bribe my fiance to lvl my toon while hes on rnr

A friend points out that hopefully what they'll do is they'll make it 'runnable' constantly. And by putting the drop chances in as 'lower than 100%' and make the pet/enchant drop multiple times, they'll at least encourage people who will keep running it so that everyone will get a chance at the core hound. After all, it is a 40 man raid.
Which, yes. Is something else to keep in mind: it's a 40 man raid. This means late in the anniversary, there will be fewer and fewer people who will be running it, because everyone else will already have run it. So keep your fingers crossed that they *do* encourage enough people to run it that the 'late-bloomers' will have a chance!
My concern is that they will need healers and tanks. Unless they set it up like a battleground and all you have to do is run it with 40 people regardless of class or spec.
