Okay, the amount of possibilities is awesome. I've no doubt it'll be fixed at some point, but it's really cool in the meantime.

I'm not so sure only cause in my little mind it would mean altering the entire mechanic of the item.
My fear is them removing it completely. I can't see how they could hotfix this one.

I suspect that's why we haven't seen any changes yet. The devs don't want to remove a function that they specifically added for player enjoyment. And yet, these side effects were clearly not intended.

Hopefully the verdict will be that Mimiron's tech allows for a little weirdness so the non-beasts can stay and that somehow, only the problematic spell effects (read: exploitable nearly-invisible pets) will be removed.

I'm pretty sure the most likely bandaid fix would be to make it so the essence swapper couldn't be used while you or your pet is in combat; that would grandfather in people who have their Hatis already swapped, but prevent further shenanigans because almost all of the "creative use of aesthetic mechanics" are coming from abilities that don't last long enough to drop combat and finish the channel. I suppose if you had a REALLY quick friend they could kill off the mobs attacking the pet while you channel the last second or two for a polymorph look, and a tenacity pet could thunderclap lower level mobs to death after a successful non-poly, and then pray that combat drops fast enough?

I don't know if there's a way to mass reset everybody's Hatis, but I suspect that'd be the next step once whatever fix (bandaid or permanent) was decided on and enacted. Everybody'd have to re-morph their "legit" Hati looks, which could be a problem if you'd, say, made Hati a Loque and then abandoned your actual Loque or something to prevent Dire Stable from duplicating it, but I suspect not many people would be in that sort of circumstance.

(Apologies if I've mostly already said this—can't remember what I have or haven't said and where :x also saw my first other hunter with a "weird" Hati today, woo!)

I imagine they could do what they did with talents and only allow you to use the essence swapper in a rested xp area. I'm not saying I want that to happen, but it seems like a feasible solution without removing the item completely, should they decide to fix it at all.

I am tempted to work on the BM artifact now though so that I can run around with some weird little minion.

I hope they don't fix this soon my hunter is only 102 and like WOD I am using her first to hit max level since she is my cute and fluffy panda of death but if they do oh well another thing I missed the first was the direhorn babies.

got the lost vikings quest pet but it only copies eric not all three

we need to compile a list of special hati skins.
any other quests that replace the hunter pet I can check out?

wow you guys have been busy. i still havent picked what i wanted for my hati since i keep it as my louq tart most of the time.

Mind control (engineer) does not work. You can cast the essence swapper, but appearance doesn't change. I tried it on higher quality murloc models. If anyone figure out a way to make it work, let us know.

I just wish there was a way to remove the lightning effect from Hati. I love the Fleshbeast I found, but the lightning effect is pretty ugly.

That being said, and on topic with the quest NPCs, wasn't there one where you had Zen'Kiki as a follower? Or some other druid? If I could get a Tauren Cat or Bear as a Hati form, I'd die happy.

How'd you get Haiti to be active while also having them active ? Haiti disappears if i don't have my pet active, but with my pet active i can't seem to get this to work.

Also guess all we need now is to remember all the quests, instances and raids that had a pet bar somewhere in it and we might be able to get some more crazy transformations.

I'm a sad person, at this time i'm not able to do this since i don't have a Hunter to play around with but i will soon. Though by the time i'm done leveling this would be patched, but i wouldn't be exactly surprised if this is intentional since your pet is "cursed" and is reforming Hati's atoms to match the cursed form. On a side note there is a screenshot on Wowhead depicting a Saurok Hati, any word on this?

How did you get your berserker so big? Mine comes out half size of my character after tame.

OR: Here me out:

They could INSTEAD just remove the Essence Swapper altogether, and give us an ability to swap out Hati with one of our stabled pets once we hit 110. That would remove the skin swap problem, Hati nameplate, AND lightning effect, which I know would make many of us happy. I've always wanted to be able to run around with two of my pets that I've actually bonded with. Replacing Hati's skin with one of mine was a bearable fix, but honestly the perma-Hati name and lightning effect kills the feel of it being the original. ^^;

Just my opinion though.

For those who didn't do it yet, there's a quest in Grizzly Hills that gives you Budd and a pet bar. Maybe he works with Hati?
