You can get the PTR tome on the stable master in trueshot lodge (if you've completed mount quest)

I can confirm that Antilos is tamable

Also have pics of the Moonfeather Prowler, Llothien Prowler, and Cliffwing Hippogryph.

This might actually tempt me to visit the game for a month if only to get the tome. At the same time I'm so behind, don't even have the expansion. But it seems like if I actually want it within a reasonable time I would have to get it started now.

Honestly I would've been fine with another drop chance like the Dino one, but instead it's a grind. :/

Thunderhead Hippogryphs are also tamable.

Update: All of the Brown and White Hippogryphs in Azshara are tamable.

Update 2: Pridewing Consort and Wyvern are tamable.

Update 3: Antilus the Soarer is tamable. The Frayfeathers in Feralas are, sadly, not.

Update 4: Highperch Wind Riders are tamable. Heartrazor is not.

Update 5: Sharptalon is not tamable by Alliance. Could possibly be tamed by Horde, but haven't tested it yet. Whatever the case, that means that unless Empyrean is tamable, the Alliance cannot currently tame this color.

Update 6: Wild Gryphons and Untamed Gryphons are tamable.

Update 7: Feathermane Hunter, Pridelord Meowl, Rauren, and Veil Prowler are all tamable.

If it hasn't been documented yet, Sorrow Wing the rare blue Wyvern in Stonetalon is tamable. Sorry no images.

You bet!! And yes, I can confirm that Sorrow Wing is tamable.

Update: Canyon Cloudwing is tamable.

Update 2: Tormented Stagwing and Feathered Prowler are tamable.

Update 3: Daggerbeak is tamable.

Sharptalon is tameable by Horde. Gonna check some other Alliance-friendly ones.

Frayfeather Hippogryphs and Stagwings are tameable by Horde.

The other Cliffwing Hippogryph is tamable.

Granistad and Kurdros (2 Alliance-friendly named Gryphons in Hillsbrad) are NOT tameable by Horde.

Trained Razorbeaks and Razorbeak Skylords in the Hinterlands also not Horde tameable.

EDIT: Razorbeak Gryphons in the Hinterlands ARE tameable by Horde though.

There's a new BLACK gryphon in central Hinterlands called Jetwing that is tameable. He's 110, or probably a level scaler and not elite. He flies up high and I had to dismount and shoot to get him to aggro (he's neutral).



His ID is 16872 (a recycled ID).

Stormfeather is tamable, but you won't be able to tame him till the next xpac due to his Lvl (112)

Enraged Gryphons (summoned by going PvP and attacking an Alliance gryphon flightmaster) cannot be tamed by Horde.

UPDATE: Enraged Hippogryphs can also not be tamed.

My first thought about Feathermanes having Updraft: "I hope this means Rylaks will merge with Chimaeras!" But the realistic reason: its a way for Survival and Marksman having access to Slowfall. It'll probably be named changed to something else for unique naming

Wraithtalon is tamable, but doesn't retain his spectral or corrupted effect.

I had a look at Molten Front and the Firelands raid and didn't see any burny hippogryphs but maybe I missed them. Or they don't exist yet.

I took a look earlier, as well. Didn't see anything.

Update: Crazed Razorbeak isn't tamable.
