They don't have a ground melee attack. They go into a T-pose every time they attack whilst on the ground.

I'm jealous of people with alpha access. I have a shit computer, so I never get access until the final wave when they purposely target people like me to see if the expansion will run on specific chipsets/etc.

Awesome any idea as to the significance of the name? All the others have had names linked to canine robots.

Hmm, so the replacement ones also have rattles on their tails (which are optional on the model, so the designers aren't forced to use them). That's another added feature that makes the replacements look different to the originals that is worth mentioning.

None that I can immediately think of/notice. However, I think that he is meant to be some sort of homage to the original alarm bot from Gnomeregan. When you aggro one, it will start yelling "Warning! Warning! Intruder Alert! Intruder Alert!" but nothing spawns. Now, unlike the other mech dogs, this one is not a rare or anything like that. There are about a dozen others walking around The Rusted Vault in Tiragarde Sound.

t-3000 (terminator) reference?

I took a look around Uldum to get a feel of the new hyenas and thought I'd share some screenshots.

I will say, I think they look nice in the environments, I really don't hate the model, I just think the colours could stand to be a little desaturated on some (namely red/yellow/purple) and the textures given more detail. My best friend said it well - the old hyenas looked dirty and gritty, the new ones look like they've just been freshly washed. They don't have that same scrappy vibe which is a shame, but I won't deny liking them for other reasons.

I'm a little sad about the white one truthfully. The new one is very nice as its own skin, but I loved the black/white contrast of the original and it no longer has that. And the red one's spots just look...really bad, there's no contrast at all and they're too washed out/grey.

I am hoping for Blizz to tweak the colors a bit, but otherwise I am rather happy with it. I would never consider taming the old model, but I definately will get a Hyena with this new model. To each their own.

I actually like most of the new hyenas and wouldn't mind having one. I do agree that the red could use some tweaking, though.

Heh I dont hate them.. Im sure I would tame one if I still played Im just teasing a bit as I do prefer the old ones. But as with all new things I think its a matter of getting used to
