...has NO ONE NOTICED that the white riding tiger skin can now be used as a pet? One can only hope that this skin will be included elsewhere in the game, so that non-nelf hunters can tame one too. I'm banking on that Blizzard will upgrade old Bangalash to this model.
I noticed this myself and I hope that they do use the model elsewhere... Damn it I've wanted to tame one ever since running through Darn ;3;

@Karathyriel:

YAY! Someone else who does awesome backstories for their characters and pets :D I love ya *hugs*

I'm personally rather glad that I didn't start up Cerah in Cataclysm. I don't like boars. Sure, they're all over Duotar, but I don't think they really fit an Orc's personality well as a starter pet. As a previous poster said, the Night Elves have a strong connection to their cats, so baby Night Elf hunters now start with cats. Orcs have an equally strong connection to their wolves so why didn't Orcs get wolves as starter pets then? Orcs and Wolves go together like, well, like Trolls and raptors - at least they got that one right. Humans getting the Orcs' signature animals as starter pets just seems like a slap in the face to me. Give them the pigs and put wolves back with the Orcs they belong with!

Well no matter what your starter is you do get to go and tame your own pets after the initial 'training wheel' levels with the starter pets, so in some ways it doesn't matter what you get "stuck with".

I do really believe that the Orcs should get wolves, however. It doesn't matter if they are local to Durotar or not, they could be imported. It is an animal they are strongly associated with. One of the constant sound effects in Orgrimmar is the howling, baying and barking of wolves yet there isn't a single one roaming around the place, just some penned mounts in one far corner. New hunters running around with their wolves would help it make more sense. :p
