Well, I gotta say it's not the best of abilities for use at level 10, especially as in the beta you cannot use the skill until your pet hits level 20 (which I'm really hoping is unintentional). Being level 20 on my human hunter now, I've got to say I hardly use it, and the only time I do is to stop mobs from hitting me when I overaggro from Glimmergrin (my fox) just to give me that extra few secs of shooting time.

Out of BW or Exotics, I'd say BW would suit for level 10, just seeing as there are barely any exotics to tame at that level. Plus, with BW, it would improve both yours and your pets survivability at that level, having that extra DPS kick behind you.

My two thoughts anyhow,

Tansy,
Human Huntress

Chimera's and corehounds are the only two exotics I can think of at that level, off the top of my head. I'm pretty sure just about everyone agree's with you, though. BW would be nice at that level.

There are lowbie worms in RFC as well.

That's really annoying that intimidation is broken on the beta. >_< Hopefully it'll get fixed in the next build - pretty hard to test it otherwise.

So, just a thought here...why not add a reduction to Intimidation's cost under Improved Kill Command...have it's focus cost reduced by 5/10, bumping it down to 25. Would make me use it a wee bit more in the field anyhow, so far only really used it for elites, like Stitches!

Oh, and Kill Command is ace, level 25 fox crit for 356 ^-^

Intimidation in pre-80 pvp is still pretty strong. I would assume they're still trying to keep post-85 pvp from becoming too much of an insta-gib fest for new players to find any joy in it. BM is just in a sorry spot. It has no defining move other than TBW which really isn't all that special.

As far as intimidation being useless it's not, it's just situational. Using a tenacity pet gives you Charge and Intimidation. Using Intimidation in pvp allows you to blow your shots on someone while they're stunned. It's also useful for soloing elites and such although it's not as good when soloing old content bosses who are immune to the stun (I believe the aggro doesn't go through unless the stun does.)

I just had a thought, and it's about BM's "signature" and how it could be changed and worked around.

So the two signatures of BM are BRK and Exotics. Since GC isn't going to give us Bestial Wrath at 10, and probably thinks that the 4 points of Beast Mastery represent the zenith of BM, what could be done is this: Separate the ability to tame Exotics from the 4 extra skill points, and let Beast Masters have Exotics at 10, but not the 4 points. Keep Beast Mastery as the final talent, and replace "tame Exotics" with "unlock your pet's full skill", i.e. the third skill pets are supposed to get.

Now I know this gives MM and Surv hunters another reason to complain, but it does help the problem BM's have right now. We get one of our signatures at lvl 10, and the rest of the talent stays at the pinnacle of the tree and gives our pets some more oomph.

I do not consider Exotic pets "under powered", come Cataclysm. I can't wait for more epic Exotics, in the Cataclysm beta/after Cataclysm comes out!

What if the level 10 BM ability was a shot that had a different effect depending on your current pet?

Currently, or rather in the next build, the BM specialty is a 20% increase in damage for your pet, increased by mastery. Intimidation is being moved to a learned level 30 ability.

And it's still BM only?

Just curious.

That I am not sure of. I don't think so, though. I think it's just being made baseline. But we'll find out around Tuesday.

O_O

Intimidation AND scatter shot baseline? Be still, my heart... That would be pretty damned insane.

You don't PvP; you don't have to be excited.

If it lets me annoy flagged people, I'm all for it.

Oh believe me, it would.

We'd have a baseline stun and a baseline disorient, plus whatever our pet has...plus whichever talents. That's a significant amount of lockdown. Can blow someone up before they even realize you're there. Given, this is already possible, but when you get two BASELINE interrupts we've never had before....well, let's just say I fear the hell out of marks hunters with readiness. Lol. :D

(I'm a little skeptical that we'd get both baseline for these reasons, but man, if we did....the whining that would ensue!!!)

I can't promise you it'll be baseline, but I'm guessing that's the most likely scenario. Then again, they might have stuck it back into the talent tree. But with the phrasing being "Learned at level 30." I have my doubts about that.

Yeah, this will indeed be interesting.

It certainly seems fitting, that with us becoming ranged rogues, we'd get some CC. Stunlocking hunters are scary! :D

I can just laugh at rogues too, so much of their CC is being removed.

That's why I fear nerfs if they're going to give us so many options baseline! Although we WOULD need them, in all fairness....

Regardless, this should overall be an improvement in our quality of life. ^_^ More tools for more situations!
