maybe this is just a serious glitch, like getting into the tank in ironforge's deepram tram, does anyone know if there was any patches into between the time irime tamed and now maybe they removed the glitch in the patch.........

Well, the "Oily Coat" buff is applied at 20 seconds, right? And base tame is 20 seconds? She said she's taming from max range.
What if they cast it 20 secs after they get into melee range, and he cast it just as the tame finished? Maybe the tame lagged and only removed one of the two buffs, or something...

When I did it, I tried timing it so that the tame finished while the "oily coat" buff was up. I hit it several times, but with no luck.

I don't think it's a hoax, I just think that there are a lot of unknown variables that could be taken into account. Unfortunately it makes an almost endless list of possible scenarios. Not saying it's impossible, but it may be tricky to pin down the exact things required for taming or to replicate the original tame.

Thanks!
And, yeah, not a hoax. But who knows how it happened? I tried a bunch of things, in various combinations, with 75+ worgs...nada.

As a Gm told me, i must look for a "slightly different" oil stained wolf on the same area
But omg they´re all the same

yes they are all the same. they are the same mob. The GM means i think that you must look for another wolf caqusr there are no diferent variations in the same wolf.
Unless irime can i ask you to bring a new arsenal of u'r wolf from all sides and that from one from the tundra? thanks in advance

25791 = Irime's wolf's (Rasta's) NPC ID
25791 = Oil-Stained Wolf's NPC ID
It'll be the same NPC, but maybe there's a differently-scripted one or something.

Seriously? I really doubt somehow that a GM would know what the hell we are going on about. Its clearly a very very specific, difficult to reproduce and very, very uncommon occurrence. The odds of a random GM knowing anything about it is 0 - nil. They are more likely:
"Yeah (...Like...what ever) Ummmm, you've just gotta tame a slightly different one on the same area.... (Pfft stupid ass hunters... oilily wolves... honestly, they really are huntards I swear... Now, where did I drop that cheesy poof?)"
There is only one different wolf in that area as Acherontia has already pointed out to us.

Yet another edit: I did find ONE oddball wolf. He spawns in the center pool (62.2, 29.2) and races across the pond before despawning. He does NOT have the buff. I have no idea what this is all about; have tamed him and am playing with it, but there's no buff after taming, either. When I've seen him despawn, it is without the Oil-Stained buff. If you aggro him, he doesn't despawn. *ponders*
This one dose not necessarily spawn in that one local specifically, as I has also found it a few times, but if.... and I really doubt it, the GM is on the money, it may have something to do with that one. I have found and tamed that one a few times, but didn't try much more afterwards. But then you never know...
Anyway I am still a little put off by it as it just seems so oddly impossible to reproduce at this point in time.
**edit**
Actually, I may just put a ticket in too and see what the gm I get says regarding this "slighty different" wolf... I'll try and play nice with them if they can tell me.... /crossesfingersbehindback

Started taming a few hours ago. I don't bother counting; it compounds the monotony.
I've been using as identical a technique to Irime as I can manage, which entails walking around hitting my tame hotkey. No tags and no traps.
"Oily Coat" buff does not seem to effect the bug, I have tamed wolves at all stages of it with no result.
I have also toyed with the runner/despawner, hit tame while he was being siphoned by collector-tron, also afterwards before he bolts, and once while I was channeling the collector even came along and started siphoning my wolf without aggroing on me. No result.
Having put a ticket in, I hope I can gain a little more insight. The OP's clue that we must seek a "slightly different" wolf does not resonate with Irime's own allegation that the stats of his/her wolf are identical to a typical Oil-Stained Wolf.
Good luck.

Perhaps with so many of you sending a ticket in we might luck out and get a GM who could give us a real clue. ^^

i hope you are right. Still waiting for mine to be answered but the whol " a different kind of wolf" me and a guildie flew around for a while, i was taming he would look and see if it was something the owner couldnt see, nuttin. We even looked around and ggot close to them all. There is no difference in any of them. they are all the same. i tried while a wolf was being syphoned for the oil, i was taming and a bot come up and start syphoning, putting it to sleep ( Wvyrn sting),ice trap, no trap, no attacking it what so ever, start tame, stop, start again and nothing. i dont see any difference in any of the wolves there. hopefully one of us can get a nice gm who can give us some insight.
JUST IN: I got my ticket answered: The GM said there is no way to get this skin, it is a glitch or a bug! So if need be ill post a pic of the whisper from the gm. but its not that great can hardly reas it -_- fail graphics
