What I'm assuming will happen is that Blizzard will flag all of our accounts with the beta, meaning that when we log into Battle.net the Cataclysm beta will show up there under our games.

From there we have to download the client (it will be huge, expect to spend a full day just downloading and installing it). I'm sure we won't have to go through any potentially suspicious emails with the new Battle.net system.

Hrm, good point, that's probably safer.

The cataclysm beta shows up next to your other games in your BNet account. Just log in there, click it, and then choose download client.

No idea. The information I sent in was what everyone gave me, and I assume it's correct. I'm still a bit curious how exactly you get the beta up and running once your account is flagged for it.

Poking around now...do you need to create a beta profile first, or was that only for the original beta opt-ins?

lol no idea i did it because i was hoping to get a inv. through the mail but maybe do it just in case? i honeslty have no idea. i keep checking my account lol.

As it turns out, I found a blue post on when our accounts will likely be flagged.

I would say about 2 weeks or so, maybe sooner. All winners will be added to the Beta in the order they are received.

So it may be a bit. The faster you send it in, the sooner we get into Beta. The have about 500 possible emails to go through, but still. I can't wait to see it.

A couple weeks? Okay then, I can be patient.

Congrats to the winners. Used to be in Petopians (anyone remember Yojimbow? Did that one event we had in UC. That was fun), but I decided to delete my Hunter, for reasons that totally elude me at the moment.

This isn't a dig at anyone here or anything, but this furthers my theory on the whole beta "invite" deal being all political hulabaloo. First off, it's not random as they claim. I know someone who's been in Vanilla, BC, WotLK and now Cata betas. That's not random. And Blizzard only designed these contests, in my estimation, to hide the fact that they pick and choose who they want in beta. I don't fit their mold, since I'm the casual player who's been around since just after BCs release and just got my second 80 a few months ago.

I dont get it. And at this rate, never will.

Well, I found that I DO have beta on my WoW account now.

I'd like the people who won the beta contest to please check if they have it, if possible, please.

'Cuz I was 99% sure I fell for a scam, and if we do have beta on our winners, then that means it wasn't a scam and I can feel that much less like a schmuck.
