NOOOO!! I have to go retame my little hyena now, I can't stand the thought of losing him. I always would switch pets in and out for my last stable slot since I didn't know what I wanted but Arcuturis be gone I am going to get my little red back simply because I always loved that skin.

Hah, great name! xD Thanks for checking. I like the colour changers sometimes, but I feel like a dog shouldn't be changing colours... *shrug*

My hearts been bleeding since I first saw this post. Nanaki and I have been partners since lv 32, when I was first able to tame the Red hyena! It's one thing for blizzard to change a skin, its another for them to change the skin AND the family, while still retaining the same pet ID#.
This is one change that I am really &*$!!!%^&%^&%^&^%&%^&^$%^#$^$#%^%^$%^$%^^#%@#%@%^%^&^*^&$#$%#^ off about...to put mildly.

Nanaki is THEE one pet I love above all others, there is a very special storry behind his tame and the person who helped me to get him. Nanaki IS my Partner, the other half of my Hunter.

Don't get upset yet - they may still change the id. If you're worried about it though, I'd recommend starting a suggestion thread on the beta forums. Point out that people are worried about having their beloved pet change completely. Perhaps they'll listen.

Especially considering the pet family itself is changing to a completely different type....it's one thing to change the colour of a pet you already had (Silvermane Stalkers), but to suddenly have not only a new pet, a new skin, AND a new family....I can't see them not changing the NPC IDs really.

for now, I am holding my breath and waiting to see what happens after the pets get thier pass over. I am hoping that it'll get sorted out, in the meantime I sit here worring, hoping that things will be alright.

Any new news on wether or not this is still the same, or is there news on when the pet pass will occure??

According to the last cata.wowhead update they still have the same ID, so the beast should still turn into a mastiff when switching from live to beta. But then Wowhead is over a week out of date now.

One thing people with beta access can do is simply enter the monastery and leave a suggestion on the Scarlet Tracking Hound that they should assign it a new ID to avoid this translation issue.
