It seems "New Spirit Beasts" threads have been all the rage for allot of folks for quite some time now, self included no doubt

I mean this when I say this but, I think you are the best "fantasy" creature artist I've ever seen. Your stuff is just gorgeous and amazing. You have an amazing talent!!!

You should see what people can do on deviant art, I really wish I had 1/2 the tallent some of them had...

I find it funny though that the same topic can keep coming up over and over... eg. "the next spirit beast". Not that I mind either, but if people are asking for wind serpents again, I' think I'll just post the one they may have missed.

Oh hey SB has ED as avatar. I saw Cowboy Bebop on Adult Swim last weekend, made me go get my dvd set of it and watch a episode. Soo good.

I would like a Loque'nahak type of Tenacity Bear. I love Arcturis... somewhat... , but I would like Arc to be able to tank/swipe in order to keep up my AOE pulls.

Arc and Gondria transparent skins are cool at first but they get old. I love the lightning look of Skoll and the Loque'nahak skin too.

Back when spirit beasts were first announced, I actually thought they retained their "pre-sb" family skill... I think it was because of the prowl. I would have expected Skoll to have the wolf howl and Arc to have swipe. Ah well.

At least one creature from each family, and no more "ghost" looks unless it's more than just "transparent model with glowing eyes and smoke). Since Cataclysm is dealing with the elements, give the SB's elemental appearances.

Wind Serpent with wings that resemble swirling air and a cloud-like skin.
Turtle with a shell like earth and plants growing from it (homage to the World Tortoise and Torterra).
Devilsaur with skin that resembles the side of a cliff, craggy and rough.
Crab with an ever-changing watery shell, like the refraction of light through the water on the bottom of a pool.
Gorilla with a stony body criss-crossed with magma veins, similar to Obsidius from Godzilla: Unleashed.
Spider with a dark ethereal body, like darkness itself given physical form.

Well my opinion would be for a cool pet is the pet off of Oblivion the only 1 you get on the game, now for spirit beast it would have to be a wind serpent or hydra, and core hound i dont care if it looks funky lol

I like all of those except the devilsaur - remember though, there should always be *some sort* of energy effect for any spirit beast, even if it's fairly subtle.

Nah, that'd be too much like the Gorilla. But it could have flecks of precious metals in its hide, giving it a gleaming appearance

I love Skoll's lightning effect. That's so great. I'd love for a lightning-like effect on a good-looking white/whitish Devilsaur Spirit Beast. To me, it's gotta look good. Like Loque'nahak, not Arcturis or Gondria. I do not like Gondria's look.

Skoll flavored...spirit hawk... named Chidori.... I'm just sayin...

Actually, I could see something with the staghooves from Shaman Tier shoulders.

Honestly, I'm less jazzed about the whole "spiritbeast" category nowadays. I mean, before they were just "fun" pets that looked massively cool... Now they are going to have healing utility (still not sure how that gets to be useful as a hunter focusing on DPS, but...). If SBs retained their "class" skills like swipe for bear and whatnot, I'd get more into them. I have trouble with a spirit bear that acts like a cat.

Stepping into the realms of final fantasy 6, I would love to see a spirit beast version of this.
