OK so I have figured this out so far.

I removed all my gear and weapons and it boils down to how close you are from the wolf.

at the EXACT distance, put the immo trap and cast tame.
I can prettymuch kill and tame exactly so that at the end of the tame he is dead. but upon revive he is not with a sword.....

Am I missing something?

They may have hotfixed this

Dropped imo trap as survival
Tamed on first tick
Died as tamed
Hit revive as soon as the tame ended
relogged and ressed it with no sword.

The revive doesn't cast but he does dissapear

Wouldn't a hotfix require a patch, or at the least a server restart? I've been online steady and people are still taming these types of pets.

i keep getting dc'ed every few seconds now :\

I don't know, I've been getting constantly kicked off, and so has my boyfriend at the same time on a different server.

Guildie literally *just* tamed the Blue Carrion bird with the mist, and before her was another who got the fire pig. I think these are still working fine.

By being exactly at a short distance from the wolf. I can pretty much immo trap and tame and get him to die as the tame finishes.

I had to remove all my gear to slow the killing but event hough he is deat when the tame finishes, it does not work.

What am I missing?

I had your constellation about seven times before the right tame.
It´s just a matter of milliseconds i think.

At the right tame, the body despawned in the moment of tame/die.
"This is it!" i thougt and there he was

I have tamed him, with the sword, within the past hour. So I highly doubt that it has been hotfixed.

However I am now getting d/c every little while.

and the poster above me is right, his body will disappear when the process is done, if it works.

I just tamed him as well, it seems it was buggy for a bit on my end but I got it.

Same with the dc issues now - been at it almost 9 hours.....

So am I, but I notice I'm losing all Internet as well.

What ISP are all of you on? I wonder if it's specific to that?

Loads of people are having the same d/c issue. Apparently it's a problem on AT&T's end. There's a thread about it on the WoW forums but now I'm not even able to connect to battle.net.

Sucks how as soon as I found out about these awesome pets I start to get chain d/ced

EDIT: Well the disconnects stopped and after a bit of trial and error I managed to tame this pet Here's hoping Blizz doesn't hotfix this or anything..

Metaphorical brick wall. Been at this for a few hours now. Since other people are having luck after lamenting their frustration on these boards I'll try as well. Wish me luck

Amagah Finally! After about 10 hours I got him!

Did the strip down method and punched him in the face til he was 2185 health - dropped the trap - waited just as the first tick disappeared - popped the tame - he died I started rez - he wasn't in my inventory but the rez was going - logged out - he was on my char screen with no knife in his head - logged back in - he was in a stable slot - rezzed him and BLAM! knife in head !

Myself and a fellow hunter in my server went to get this. We both solo tamed using Immolation trap only.

I've been a lurker for a while, but this is my first post. Just wanted to confirm that The Lone Hunter has not been "hotfixed" as of yet. I just tamed him w/ his lovely dagger

just got him, took me 3 tries. im pretty good at this i suppose. back in the day i got the worgen (i hate you for stealing wolfy blizz!!!) on my first try lol. almost the same concept here. pretty nice lol
