Not hate, exactly, but dislike...
I don't like the spiders with the spindly skinny legs. The tarantula-types with the big fat legs I don't care much for, but I can handle them. But the skinny, kind-of-realistic kind? *shivers*
I tried to tame on just to see, but I had to release it within 15 minutes because it was giving me the heebies just to look at the poor thing.

I couldn't agree more. This started out as "this beast annoys me because of this frustrating situation" which was kinda fun. Now it's become pretty mean-spirited. Surprise surprise.
Hey, I'm not seeing anyone making voodoo dolls, burning effigies, or foaming at the mouth.
...Well, there was Ryai's rant about Deathy, but Ryai does tend to get a bit dramatic.
Anyways, I guess my point is that you may not like hearing about your favorite pet being described in certain ways, but it's not a personal attack against you.

Aye my rant about spirit beasts was not a personal attack on anyone. Just my feelings on them in general and thats what all the others who ahve posted here are doing. I kind of found that post to be insulteing basicly saying I have a problem for not likeing something.

Son of Arugal. That !^(@#!&@^#! &**!#^!% was the bane of my first character, a holy priest, who tried to level in Silverpine. I was miffed when they eventually got nerfed, and more miffed now that they're gone altogether. I can't keep getting my revenge on them now.
Before someone asks, the Hellfire Peninsula Felreaver was a kitten compared to the Son of Arugal.

I'd agree, except during my entire time leveling through HFP we had three, count them THREE
BUGGED Reavers running around that made no noise, no stomps, and didn't even show up as a model, it was like a silent ghost that would roflstomp you, and you'd only know cause you'd see the "You are entering combat", then a glitched Felreaver Nameplate, then death.... sudden death.

Oh, I forgot to add I don't like rhinos.
They're cute and all, but to tame as a pet, they're too loud and too big.
Much like Corehounds. They're nice to have, but gawd they make so much noise when they're just walking beside you.
D:
I had a rhino for my tank pet once.
Went into Deadmines just to fart around.
Trying to go through the entrance to get to the instance was a pain.
Same with SFK. I swear there are some places that big pets just aren't able to fit.
Idk how Reptar (my King Krush) even gets through SFK and he's just too damn tall.

Despite my having and cherishing Arcturis, my reaction to your earlier post was summed up nicely by Pwncess:
Pwncess wrote:cowmuflage wrote:All spirit beasts apart from the crab. Just can't stand them. Loque'nahak looks like he has not eaten in weeks and could drop dead any minute, Arcturis looks like something a ghost would vomit up, Skoll looks like a wolf stuck his tail in a wall socket and Gondria looks like a blackcurrent flavoured ghost.
LOL I'm sorry, but that actually made me laugh.

Wasps. My new hatred is wasps.
They're either too tiny, too large, or too noisy. NEVER "just right". The large model is fine for pvp, but I didn't sell my soul, so it irritates me. There are three colors I like; Orange boss wasp, Green boss wasp, and White regular wasp. The boss wasps are too large and the hitbox is insanely huge, so I can't goof around with them. The white one, while awesome and simple, is like a pocket knife at best. A MASTIFF LOOKS MORE INTIMIDATING THAN THAT TINY BUG.
Grow up or get smaller, you blasted bugs!

Well, can't do much about wasp size, but I do know that you can
get rid of the incessant buzzing. I had to do this myself before I was driven to the point of abandoning Zora (unique rare in Silithus).

Never liked Gorillas much. They look just silly, and their swim animation is ugh.
I used to hate bears, but actually, I love 'em now, for no reason.
Saber worgs. Hate the model. I love Skoll though. xD

I don't know.
there are pets I wouldn't tame, for the simple reason that they don't appeal to me.
does that mean I "hate them"?
sorry, there are far more awful things in this life that merit our disgust or our derision than the appearance of pixels in a game.
maybe as you get older you start realizing that "hate" even when spoken/written in the context of this thread, ends up poisoning your life. if you can write "I hate such-and-such", then a part of that will reflect on your life.
if you take the attitude "it just doesn't appeal to me", then you have removed a whole mess o' negative from your life.
words.
you might think words don't have any impact, but they do.
your choice of words reflects on many things.
that said, I LOVE the look of most of the birds in WoW, but the SOUND they make grates on my nerves. has a bit of a nails-on-chalkboard feel to it.
which is really a shame, because I STILL intend on taming Olm when he re-appears in the game.

I hate hate!
Edit: Sorry Sukurachi, I did take your post seriously and I actually agree to an extent, but I think this is more of a light-hearted thread to say which creatures we find revolting.
I'm just feeling naughty right now, can't help myself.

See I don't view this thread like that at all. I would never take a game so seriously that I would apply it to a real-world personality/outlook on life.
I will admit, I do feel a bit offended that you would say that those who hate certain pixels in a game will 'wise up' as they get older. No offense, but I am older. I consider myself wise enough to leave the negativity real life gives me outside of a game. If you choose not to, that's fine, but please realize some of us may not be the exact same personality as you and do not need to 'grow up' to realize that.

Rikaku sums up how I feel about your post while being nice about it because quite frankly, I found your post a tad offensive.
This thread is not attacking anyone personally, and it's not necessarily reflective of our view in real life. Hate used with its real meaning and intention connotates extreme negativity, yes, however, I'd say the majority of people, when they use it, mean an extreme dislike.
Also, I should think Petopia of all places would be the last place to judge people about feelings about people. I mean, we're the place people go to to express their absolute love of pets even though they're just pixels. If we can come here to express how much we love our pixels, I see no reason why we shouldn't be allowed to express our dislike of them as well.

out of curiosity, how old are you?
I'm not trying to be confrontational.
there are just things that change when you go through certain events/changes in your life.
I've lost loved ones... by the dozen.
Ive been close to death myself, on at least two occasions.
I guess that just changes my perspective on what out there I should feel any passion for, and what I should just let flow off my back like water off a duck's back.
as I approach my 50's, I just don't see things the same way I did when I was 20, or even when I was 30, or 40.
I just feel strongly about the way the word "hate" is bandied about by so many people these days.
In the end, it seems to desensitize us to the actual meaning of "hate".
I don't know if that makes more sense to you, regarding my view on the word.
anyway, enough of my preaching and derailing the thread.
back to the beasts that you all dislike.
(spiders.. I am deathly afraid of spiders...)

Lol, here comes the post that's going to get me banninated. Ohwells. I've had some fun times on here, I'll miss a lot of you.
Sukurachi, I'm sorry about all the terrible misfortunes you've suffered through, but please explain to me how in the fuck any of what you said even remotely pertains to anything else in this thread?
I know the type of person you are. You're lonely, probably don't get a lot of social interaction outside of the internet, so you seek attention by playing your trump card: a sob story that you spew at inappropriate times in the hopes that you'll be showered with misplaced pity. Why in the hell else would you spill your life story on Petopia, of all places? Let me put this in perspective: this began as a harmless thread about pixelated nonexistant creatures in a video game, and you turned around and started talking about how hard your life has been and how offensive my thread is because I used the word "hate" in reference to the aforementioned pixelated nonexistant creatures.
I'm not sure you get where I'm coming from. I'll set up a similar situation for you. Lets say Bob and his friend Timmy are having a conversation:
Bob: Hey Timmy, have you seen the movie Inception? It's pretty good.
Timmy: Bob, you're so insensitive. I haven't had time to see any movies because I've been too busy signing up to donate my good kidney to an orphanage full of sick children. You're clearly oblivious to the way the world works and should feel sorry for me.
Bob: lulwat?
<FIN>
I'm fucking sick of walking on eggshells on a World of Warcraft forum because some people are just circling around like vultures, just LOOKING for something they can spin so it makes THEM look like a victim. It's just ridiculous... like, I can't even wrap my head around how stupid this is. Offended because of my thread title: "Creatures you've grown to hate?" Wow. Just... wow.
You're all going to think I'm being completely insensitive, but you know what? Life's hard. We've all had tough shit to deal with. But strong-willed people can deal with these unfortunate life events without exploiting them for attention.
inb4 shit storm.

I can respect that. I can state that I've had a lot of emotional hardship in my life. However, I do not wish to post my age or my emotional hardships, not because I feel 'inadequate' (for lack of a better word) in comparison to your statement, but because I do prefer the anonymity of the internet and do not wish to post openly about my age or other personal affects.
And trust me, I'm not being sarcastic, nor am I putting down your view of the word 'hate'. I can completely agree with it.
I suppose all I am trying to say is that... I understnad hate is a very powerful word and in reality it should be used with that power in mind, but if I use the word "hate" about something as 'innocent' as a video game or TV show, then I am obviously not taking the video game or movie with them same seriousness I do real life. I'm not sure if that makes sense, but basically, I try to keep my fantasy world of video games a seperate identity from my real-world issues.
and with that I will stop the derailing and agree.
No me gusta spiders. At all. They freak me out in-game. Especially those ones from Azuremyst!

To be honest, I personally don't think age has anything to do with OPINIONS about a video game. Any person young or old can have faced a lot of hardships. I've faced my fair share just as much as the next person.
However, I feel that it's silly to say people should act a certain way on a set of forums, especially forums that embrace people for loving pixellated creatures.
Unspoken rule of the internet: If you see a thread you don't like, no one's forcing you to read it or comment on it. That sounds mean, but it's true. Now, I don't think you can't have an opinion, by all means, please do, but don't try to enforce your opinion on others, especially when it's not pertinent to the thread.
Some of us happen to really dislike some of the features/creatures/etc of this game and this thread was created to express that. Many, many other threads have been created to express peoples love for these very same creatures.
To go back on topic: I'm terrified of spiders in real life, and I want really badly to like the ones in game (I think the purple skin is amazing looking), but they still manage to creep me out in game. When I started seeing that Blizzard was making a trend of super sizing all the rare spawn spiders, I was like: O_O.
Hell, the first time I ever fought Hadronax, I cried. >_<
Oddly enough, the only spider model I really "hate" are the black widow ones. I shudder in real life every time I see one.
