God I'm so far gone with Espurr people are going to start calling me Espurr instead of crazy. /has been on tumblr waaay too much in the Espurr tags

So, I finally made it to the town with the second gym and like, I traded a random Luvdisc I caught for one of the NPC's Steelix (I made sure to take her scale though) and um, wow. Dis Steelix. Lvl 20 and she has 100 defense. She's Impish nature so her defense is boosted, and then her characteristic is 'capable of taking hits' which iirc affects pokemons stats and this one is either health or defense? I don't really know much about characteristics but holy craaaaaaaaap I have a hell of a taaaank now *___* I've never been wholly fond of Steelix, like, I like em but I was never big on em. But this may change things-- for the time being

Oh and I got my baby Chompy (the little t-rex) and he's perfect as well! I totally forgot to save in both cases before hand incase their natures weren't right (though NPC trades are set I think..?) and out of a crazy fluke they are both amazing. *huggles her collection of lovelies* I need more slots for my party ;A; I'm getting way attached to all these pokemon and I've practically only just started!

So I've almost finished the story and, without spoiling anything, I can't say I'm all that happy with it. While the legendary's appearance (Xerneas in my case) was pretty epic, the story for these games just feel so... eh. Like they're nothing special at all and don't even come about properly until at least half way through the game. And Team Flare's reason for existing is worse than even Team Plasma's, I didn't think it could get anymore facepalm-worthy.

And I can't even begin to explain how much I hate the 'companions' in this game, Shauna especially. Omgdieplz.

Amazing gameplay, but a really poor story imo. As I say though, I haven't exactly finished yet, I'm moving on to the final gym now, but I expected more...

I felt the same. I have Y, and it was great seeing how Yveltal showed up, but it seemed random. There was barely any talk of him before and he just sorta randomly appears...also the king dude only saw him like 3x. Everything felt short and kinda rushed toward the end.

I liked the companions tho, and I feel bad for Shuana.

I didn't like them based on the fact that they're kinda forced upon you and go, "Well, we're friends now whether we like it or not, soooo let's give you a nickname so we feel closer to you." and then you barely see them at all for the rest of the damned game. Plus I found them all just generally annoying. Yes, even Calem, who seemed so whiny every time he loses to you in a Pokémon battle. I really hate Calem so far, though keep in mind I'm only at the fifth gym. He just seems so rude. x.x "Hey, let's fight over the mega ring! ...Just so you know, I'm gunna win." ...Uh thanks Calem, real friendly there, aren't you? Not a little arrogant or anything?

I do like Shauna though. Maybe it's because of the near-romantic fireworks thing, but she just seems really sincere and nice, which I like. She fits with the personality I made for my trainer anyway, heh.

Man everyone I know sits there calling Shauna "obnoxious" and complaining about the "forced shipping with player character" WHICH IS NONEXISTENT THEY ARE CHILDREN AND SHE'S JUST A VERY EAGER AND FRIENDLY PERSON.

I've never played B/W or their sequels but the fact that Team Plasma is a giant piss take of PETA is bloody funny as all hell to me. Bout time someone did that

My problem with her is rather petty actually, but that's not the reason at all haha. I didn't even take much notice of the fireworks thing. >.> It's just the musical notes at the end of EVERY damned sentence. That and, I dunno, 'cutesy' girl characters, especially in anime or anime-esque things like Pokémon just annoy the bloody hell out of me. Don't judge me. u___u

Plus to me she's like a slightly smarter version of Bianca. And oh my god I hated Bianca beyond belief. I nearly threw my DS out the window when she showed up again in White 2. >:c I just asjfndjkfndjlfbnsdjkl... Guh. I can't wait to finish the story and leave these guys behind. x'D

When I went to pick up my X&Y games I also bough the Xerneas/Yvetal DS case. Well my daughter was looking at it and she says to me:

Kayla: Mommy, who is that?
Me: That is Xerneas
Kayla: What is Xerneas?
Me: Xerneas is a good pokemon who shares life with everyone. It is a nice deer pokemon.
Kayla: I like Xerneas *turns case over* who is that?
Me: That is Yvetal, it is mean pokemon who takes life.

Aww. I'm probably one of the only ones who feels that Yveltal is very misunderstood. I personally feel that he did what he did out of mercy for all those who were suffering and close to death rather than just to fuel his own rebirth. I didn't get any menacing vibes from him at all during the cutscene where he awakens, and I found the short little cry he gives at the end when he lands to be rather endearing. I don't hate Xerneas or anything, I feel he/she is quite benevolent, and I'm sorry if it sounds like I'm getting on to you, I promise I'm not, I'm just giving my two yen.

And that's a nice case! I saw a similar one at Walmart earlier that I was so tempted to grab, but I'm quite fond of my Origin Forme Giratina/Sky Forme Shaymin case, and it's still in good shape after all these years.

His Shell Smash should make him nasty without making him too fast for trick room...he has rapid spin to make bad things go away. He could be useful.

I know I'm late to the companions conversation but I wanted to put my opinion in

I, honestly, do not like the companions. I don't see a point in FOUR of them either...I thought it was an interesting take when they started to introduce more than just your main rival but...FOUR!? Four people that are basically stalking me!? o.o and the girl IS A LOT like Bianca imo, and I just want to slap the other three

and...Doom Chicken?...YESS! ALL OF MY YESS! I FULLY APPROVE!
