That's true, but the r-slur is extremely insensitive to those with mental disabilities :?
the chart that the meme originated from isn't bad but I don't like the idea of those people who are malicious hiding behind what they say is a harmless meme to make fun of mental disabilities :s

People shouldn't hide behind it, I know. It just shows that you can have something perfectly innocent and then suddenly, once one person does a bad, everyone does a bad, and hide behind the meme. It's not always the source that's the problem, it's the people that use it.

If I used it, hmm...Scarlet Rain, I'd be. Now that sounds quite cool, I likey.

Another baby rant... I now have a pair of Zephyr Dancers, one with facet and one without. They both need Windbound Plumages. Both of them. My god. Why do I do this to myself? Why?

I'm autistic and get called retarded and special all the time. I don't like the moonmoon meme and I'm tired of the tumblr/sjw hate on here too.

Rant: I like the fire festival but some of the orange shades used in skins hurt my eyes

At least I'm not the only one, Scarlet :?
my girlfriend's brother has autism and she's extremely protective of him and I am as well so seeing this thrown around so lightly is a tender spot to me.

I have semantic-pragmatic language disorder, which is apparently somewhere on the spectrum. I don't really know what to think about this all. I think the r-word is only really useful in a medical context (it usually means slow or delayed, or even stopped).

The creators initials happened to make "Moon Moon". There, problem solved. Maybe he worded it wrong initially, but now people are taking it too far.

Also, I do not understand people who wish to be referred to as, not a gender, but an animal. Dog/dogs/dogself. I don't wish do offend anyone, but I just really don't understand it. Is it. A furry thing, or perhaps a roleplay thing?
I aint calling anyone dogself/tigerself cause that's not a damn pronoun. It's stupid as all hell and grammatically incorrect. But yeah seems like every little thing is ableist now and it pisses me off.

I don't think that Moon Moon started out as ableist. It's just easy to forget what 'special' refers to.

It's definitely NOT a furry thing rofl xD I'm not even sure where it comes from. From my understanding its people that are still in the ":D IM A WEREWOLF IRL" stage, which is usually gone through at a much much younger age and stopped fairly quickly.

But yeah. The Moon Moon thing was created as a "teehee look at how dumb this name generator is omg it gave me Moon Moon". Not made to be offensive to any one.

I think it might be a therian thing? Or otherkin, I've seen it a bit in both the therian and otherkin communities.

By the by, if anyone starts getting on your for "appropriation" or shit because of keeping, like, pets or plants or whines about people stepping on plants because it's oppression to certain kin: please ignore them because they are 100% without a doubt troll made to make fun of otherkin.
Not all of us in the otherkin community are that fuckin' touchy e_____e;

I don't think Moon Moon is ableist and I have both OCD and Aspergers. I do think ableist is used too freely nowadays. It weakens it's meaning.

Just don't do that tigerself stuff, Alex. Pleeeeease. I beg yooooou. *sobs*

Agreed cow. I got a few aspergers friends, even some with speech impediments and mental retardation(mildly) and none of them found Moon Moon offensive. None. They thought Moon Moon was hilarious.

The person who sparked the meme literally said "the most retarded wolf".

I don't like it. If other people do - I can't stop them.
But that doesn't mean I have to like it or be happy about it's existence.
That's all.

Nounself pronouns
Starting in early 2014, or perhaps late 2013, a community of non-binary gender people on the social blogging site Tumblr.com came up with the idea of "nounself pronouns." (Some call these "otherkin pronouns," but few otherkin use them, and not all using them are otherkin.) By adapting any noun of one's choosing into a pronoun, one can create a wide variety of very personal and descriptive pronouns. The sets can be themed around concepts that have nothing to do with gender, such as nature, technology, or abstract concepts. Some of the earliest sets of nounself pronouns, which might actually be from earlier than 2014, are the fairy themed set "fae, fae, faer, faers, faeself", and the bunny themed set "bun, bun, buns, buns, bunself". During 2014, the community created about a hundred sets of such pronouns, and many were adopted as the pronouns of particular non-binary people, so they're seeing actual use. Unlike most neologistic pronouns that are listed on this wiki page, which are intended to be used for all people regardless of gender, nounself pronouns are intended to be used by only a small number of people who feel that they express what is distinctive about themselves. Nounself pronouns are a creative and often light-hearted experiment in gender expression. Nounself pronouns can be especially difficult to use for people who speak English as a second language, or who are neurodivergent or disabled. For this reason, if you ask others to call you by nounself pronouns, it's good etiquette to offer a secondary set of more standard pronouns, for accessibility.[107]

Just if anyone was interested in the origins or about it.

Yep. Still can't and likely won't take any 'nounself' people seriously.....cause it doesn't make sense grammatically and just sounds silly.

Also Scarlet, the person also apologized a long time ago for that. Not saying you have to like it, but I just felt that should also be noted. He made a public apology eons ago.

Yes, I know that. I follow her on a few sites because I like her artwork. I have no problem with her since she apologized. I was just pointing out the fact she used the word originally

I won't keep going on about it because I feel like i'm seriously derailing this thread. Sorry

@Jun; nah, it isn't my thing. It doesn't bother me if people use things like that but I'm fine with just regular she/they/he pronouns with no real preference to which are used lol

@Scarlet; oH thats right it was a non-binary thing that people flipped to jeer at otherkin that's where I got that from,,,,

and yea, the use of the r-slur is what really puts me off with that meme :s no matter how far you run, people will know the original post used it and that's something that can never really be erased. and like Scarlet said, I can't stop others if they like it, it sorta makes me grimace slightly when people do, but...

also holy shit yea this is like seriously derailing the thread :? though not really cause it's connected to FR through drama??? I don't even know anymore

According to that chart, I am "Fierce Wolf". It's like.... yeah, no dip, I'm a wolf! I have teeth, I'm probably fierce. So thanks for the name, captain obvious chart.

My friend hatched coatls a little while ago, and they're all gorgeous. I also recently acquired a gorgeous Pearlcatcher baby via a gifting thread, and when I looked at the combination he made with one of my friends coatls, I fell in love.

Too bad they're both male :I

I mean, i'll wait until the next round of hatchling my friend can have from her pair, but knowing my luck either they'll produce babies on the wrong side of my PC's colors, or they'll all be male. Or both. And coatl cooldowns are sooooo long ;_;

Saw a dragon on the ah named "Donotexaltme". -.- Although it stings, if someone paid for that dragon with their money they are free to do whatever they want with it. If that means exalting it, then they will. Once it is passed on, it is not yours. You cannot tell someone what to do with their money.
