SHINY VULPIX FINALLY. Omg it's been 619 eggs. And it's been a slow hunt, cause I've only had small periods of time to hatch eggs recently. Today I've been able to sit down and get on with it and I was determined to get my shiny today. Only 12 eggs later... SHINY! Sadly, it's a male, but he does have Drought which makes me happy. I can deal with him being male even though I had some female names planned. xD; Just need a decent male name now!

Congrats! Aww, I'm sorry it turned out to be male, but that makes him extremely rare, and even moreso since he has his DW ability! I'm sorry I can't be of much help on the names front, the only name suggestion I can offer up is Kitsune.

Well, there's a 25% chance for Vulpix to be male so it's not uber rare but I've warmed up to him enough already that I don't even care if he's male. :3 He's (temporarily) called Sebastian but I can't think of anything better. D: *Browses the interwebs for names*

Thanks for the options! I ended up naming him Elusive though. (: I wanted it to be Rarity, but that just makes me think of MLP haha. So I went with a word that has the same meaning and, in my opinion, sounds a little more masculine. I think it suits. (: I'm already working on leveling him up, I've already maxed his affection and he needs EV training soon as well. With a Modest nature, perfect IV in Sp. Atk and Drought, this is going to be awesome. *-*

Wow, sounds like you hit the jackpot with your shiny Vulpix! He's got everything! Personally, I've always seen Vulpix/Ninetales as male anyway, but that's just me. ^.^ Congratulations!!!

So, I've decided to try farming horde battles for a few shinies (and changing locations will keep me sane), with Yanma being my main target since it, along with Ponyta, is a shiny I've been after with no luck for years. I've already got a 'mon for Sweet Scent, two False Swipers, and more than enough of each type of poke ball, so I'm pretty much set. I know that this won't be nearly as easy as finding shinies in Friend Safaris, but I wanted to try one of the other methods for a while even though I probably won't find anything for a long time. XD

Yeah, though I bred another Vulpix with an Everstone with my Japanese Ditto to ensure that Modest was the nature he had anyway. :3 Then I just had to pray that Drought was the ability that the shiny was born with. xD Thank goodness it was! And yeah, I know, accidental perfect Sp. Atk IV caught me off guard. o.o I never fuss with IVs but I always like to check them just to see what they're like. After he's been EV trained he's gunna be awesome, I know it!

Vulpix/Ninetales always felt very feminine to me but a male isn't the end of the world, I've gotten used to him already and love my Elusive to bits. <3

Wooo shiny vulpixes abound! 700+ eggs and two DS systems (jacked bf's game since he was willing to help me), after only 3ish boxes he hatched a shiny female vulpix with drought (nature was everstoned to modest) and about 21 boxes on my game. So fucking happy to finally have it but so fucking pissed at RNG.

I'm estatic and stressed at the same time at this.

God help me if I shiny breed again.

So, I'm sitting here farming hordes hoping for a shiny Yanma, and instead, I find a shiny Nosepass. XD *facepalm* I did catch something quite nifty and helpful, though. If the shiny that appears in the horde isn't on screen, the screen darkens for a second!

I'm curious, though, do I still have a chance to find a shiny Yanma even though I found this Nosepass or am I screwed and won't find any more shinies on this route?

Yes you can still find a shiny on the route. There is no route shiny limit, shiny is merely an RNG that can be influenced though certain actions (radar/hoard hunting, etc) but there is no limit to how many shinies you can find or the routs you find them on.

Thanks for the answer, Makoes. I'm sorry I'm having all this crazy luck with shinies like this, I feel horrible about it. x_x

Would anybody like a golden chibi moai? Nosepass isn't a favorite of mine, but the shiny form looks pretty nice.

Yaaaaay we both got our Vulpix. :3 Kinda jealous ours are the same but yours turned out to be female. xD In saying that, mine's a Ninetales now at level 50 (Leveling is so very easy these days... He'll be level 100 at the end of today without a doubt.) and I'm so in love with him. :3 Congrats though!

OMG!!!! FINALLY GOT MY SHINY PONYTA!!!!!! So happy, she's rash nature, sadly has 'run away' ability, but I'll live with that. Named her Starlight ^^ such a pretty blue girl.
Now to get a different region ditto and go for a shiny skrelp! Going to try and eventually have a full shiny team, just need to decide all the members. But definitly ponyta and skrelp, maybe a shiny mega pokemon...hmmmm.
YAY SHINY PONYTA!!!!!!!!!!!

Grats! I admit, I'm a little jealous that yours ended up female, but I love my boy to bits and wouldn't trade him for anything. <3 Starlight's a nice name, do you plan on evolving her or keeping her as a Ponyta?

At least Honedge is gendered...goletts aren't and I'm wondering where nearly 700 eggs are actually coming from...*still no shiny*

That's a tough question T.T I love the blue flames of ponyta, and I love rapidash more then ponyta, but the flames turn grey...I dunno, I might just save before evolving and then see what rapidash looks like in-game and decide if I want to keep her evolved or not...or hunt another one @.@

I did pick my next shiny hunt, Pikachu!! Found a jpn male Pikachu in my boxes, and a female modest natured pikachu!! So going to breed a modest shiny Pikachu to eventually evolve into Raichu for my shiny team.

then skrelp will hopefully be next, along with Sawsbuck ^^

Shiny planned team so far:
Ponyta (fire)
Pikachu (electric)
Skrelp (water/poison)
Sawsbuck (grass/normal)
