Unrelated, but my little girls are cracking me up. I own three pet rats who are adorable and so inquisitive. And before anyone goes eww, domesticated rats are actually very clean creatures who clean themselves often, like cats. My girls go in a specific section of their cage; they have never used the bathroom outside of it. And they are disease free, well except the rat loving disease.

Anyway~
One of the cool things about rats is they come in handy like dogs, if you drop some good you can give it to them, or feed them some of your leftovers. Obviously just use common sense before feeding them: 'Would they be okay eating this?' Their stomachs are pretty strong, so mine get spoiled rotten, I'll admit it. XD But you can't over feed them; they'll just stash it in their cage for later if they're full. I just try and keep what I feed them healthy and not too fattening.
I just bring this up because I was checking out FR and feeding them some cherry Jello from a spoon. They were going bonkers, it was cracking me up. And even though the Jello is gone now they're still running up and jumping into my lap like, "Where's the rest of it?! What was that magical ambrosia?!"

Rats have been the cutest, smartest and best pets so far. *Snuggles with babies*

I love rats! A friend of mine used to breed them and had like 10-15 of them in her house. It was literally full of rats. She had this big stud of a male who I loved.

Aww, Kore, they sound adorable! I owned two little rattie girls a few years back, myself. They've both passed away now, but they were easily the best pets I've ever owned. Friendly, loving, hilarious... one of them had the unfortunate habit of climbing up onto high objects while I was distracted and leaping onto my shoulders.

They are so sweet! Boyfriend wasn't into the idea at all at first, but we got them and now he spoils them and coos at them just like I do. So smart too, I love calling for them and have them come running. They're always so excited to see you.
I'll try and post up a picture of my girls, got two of them sniffing at me and my phone right now, I think they know I'm talking about them.

Wild rats are a different story, but domesticated rats are AMAZING pets.
Hehehe, Kyria.

About how long did they live, if I may ask? The one complaint I'd read before getting them was their short life spans. I love how curious they are. One of my girls is like Spider-Man, I swear. Climbing around on the cage bars.

I grew up with pet rats. My first one, Ratty (Amazing name, I know.), I got when I was in first grade. He was so amazing. Best rat ever. not going to lie. When he was reaching the end of his life, he couldn't walk unless I was on my hands and knees crawling above him. Only then would he drag himself along to stay with me. Dear little thing.
Our last rat was amazing too. He LOVED people so much. Every time someone walked by he'd jump up on his little house to get some attention. He never once pee'd outside his cage either. He fought for his life for so long until we had to put him down. To be fair though, we should have put him down sooner. He was literately nothing but skin and bones. Not even joking. But he was my Mom's rat so I never really noticed until it was really far along :S It took quite a bit for Mom to put an end to his suffering.
Out of all 12 or so rats I have had, the lifespan seems to be 2-3 years. Cancer is common and that takes them out sooner.

That's so sad, I wish they lived longer.

They all have such personalities. I'm pleased there are so many rat lovers on here though, I'm used to people automatically going, "EWW!" and assuming I'm a dirty person or something. Those poor souls, going ratless all of their lives.

My little baby Tamika
I want a dragon to name after her but no idea what breed. Maybe Tundra. White body, Beige or Sand wings, Plague eyes. Also need a dragon for Janie. Charcoal body, Silver wings, Light or Wind eyes *nod nod*

Couldn't find one that would be a good dragon version of Tamika but I found the perfect second choice to Janie (first was a WC in Charcoal/Silver). Problem is she's an Imperial and costs 315,999T lol.

That brownish-white one looks like the baby I adopted about a year after Tamika. Her name was katie~ Sadly Tamika was too aggressive so we had to give her back to the adoption center, too much stress with Tamika trying to snap through the bars at her cage and no room for a second cage so I could continue to care for her
Would scatterscrolling Meila help bring interest to her? She's parentless and I'm only looking for like, less than half of a discounted scroll for her (and I don't even have a price set anymore but I have one in mind I'd like to at least aspire to which is still less than half of a PC scroll) but no one has given her any interest. She has nice colors but I've been stuck with her forever with no one bothering to give her a second glance on the AH

Eeee rats <3 I'm determined to get one some day!
And bah, I want to spend the next few days farming treasure to get Rosemary and Jayhawk gembond, but I'm going to LA. Speaking of that! I'll be in LA from Friday evening to Monday morning so if you want to contact me during that time, FR is the place to do it.
