Could it possibly be your internet providers, Vare? Or is it only FR that's having this loading problem?

Man, I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with the site Vare. D: That seems very strange that it's only FR, do you use any sort of firewall or program that maybe accidentally blocked it? If other websites are loading fine I can only assume it's something with your computer's security, or as Alex said, your internet provider for some strange reason.

It is only FR :/ And the only firewall I have is the default Windows one, which I have turned off a couple times to no joy. I have noticed that my connection hasn't been the strongest recently due to wind storms in my area but again it's only FR that is having trouble loading. Up until now I've not changed any settings. The only things I can think of right now is attempting to contact FR through Facebook or something or a virus scan.

I'm trying my best to be patient and nice, but I finally have to rant a bit...
I've been waiting for a particular art order since July 21st. The artist took a bunch of orders, made everyone pay in gems up front, then a week later, went on hiatus due to college. Ok... I can understand waiting a bit while the artist is at school, but they were supposed to be back and working on all the orders sometime here in December and I still have yet to hear anything. I even left a message on the artists page asking politely for them to contact me when they are able to sometime here in Dec before they start on my order as I'd like to edit it a bit, since the dragon in question has pretty much completely changed his apparel since July. I even said I'd be willing to pay extra for these changes if needed. I still haven't gotten any reply and the person is very active on other threads on FR, so it's not like they just haven't been online to see it. WTF. I'm sorry, but I'm an artist as well and I think it's terribly rude to make so many people pay upfront, then wait SO long to get their order. If you're THAT busy, then please for the love of whatever, DON'T OPEN YOUR SHOP FOR ORDERS (and especially don't make people pay upfront) if you can't get to said orders in a timely fashion. This is ridiculous...

Crikey o.O I make custom items for a living and NEVER make people wait this long - heck, I don't take payment until I am about to start an order. College is understandable, but they should have refunded and offered to take payment again when they are able to work :/ some people are just unbelievable!
Vare - I am often greeted by that screen, and I just reset my router as I assumed it was my internet connection (which is often shocking). I hope you get it sorted soon

I do that all the time. Most of the dragons sitting in my lair need some gene or another I want to finish them (mostly glimmer and now butterfly, with a large scattering of poi/tox). Inevitably, they sit there for months and then get sold/exalted and the cycle starts over. Gems are the source of a lot of my lair problems. It takes me months to save enough for 1 gene, and my patience wears out long before I can sell enough dragons for gems. I don't have anything fancy so most of mine sell for 10 gems if I'm lucky.
Ash, that stinks.

Making someone pay in advance, wait that long, and be unresponsive on top of that is completely inappropriate.

Okay, I'm pretty convinced right now that one of FR's "optimisations" has increased the site's bandwidth or something. My router crashed a moment ago so I remotely restarted it, and lo and behold FR is screwed up again. And only FR. It has to be something like that, and if that's true then that fucking sucks for me as I live out in the middle of nowhere meaning I can't stay at a decent strength for long. Especially when we get strong winds like we did a short while ago. I might have to quit FR and not by choice.

I turned and left the router off all night. Only problem is I live with other people who tend to wake up long before I do. So it's been on for about 2 hours before I tried again and guess what? FR won't load again. (EDIT: A few tries and it started loading albeit extremely slowly.) I am seriously upset by this now and I'm confident it's FR's fault. I wish there were some way of finding out what's going on cos I can't keep turning the router off for 30 minutes every time FR stops working, mostly because my brother also practically lives on the Internet so it wouldn't be fair especially since everything else is fine. Even WoW.
That forced hiatus might actually come to pass, which pisses me off with NotN so close as well. I doubt much will happen but I'd would appreciate if anyone can investigate somehow.

Im still trying to get more than one response from ppl on the help/bug forum. Been pming with one of the mods but nothing yet. They all suggest its your connection which is bull.. i asked about the bandwith but havent gotten an answer yet

Short of finding an Internet café that doesn't require me paying for and taking a train to get to just to log in, or somehow switching ISPs quickly (after convincing the bill-payer) and hope that it's better than my current one it sounds like there's nothing I can do.

This may sound as a weird suggestion and might not help at all.. but have you tried Unlocator? Tricking your computer to think its somewhere else? It probably wont help if you live in a rural area.. but its all i could think off.
Just made a thread on the discussion forum to see if other have that problem---
its super weird it started acting like this... since you been running the site without problem. Btw check your Pm if you need help

Vare, my husband suggested putting adblock plus on and resting your browser, which is more than a clear. If you need help with that he would be happy to walk you through it.

Tarn - Thank you, I had a look at it but from what I understood it only affects streaming sites like sports, Disney, Cartoon Network etc. I don't think it's a location problem.
Syleye - Thank you and your husband but I already have ABP installed. I even tried pausing/turning it off which sadly made no difference.
I got the chance to turn the router off for around 20 minutes and it's been stable since *knocks rapidly on her wooden desk*. Let's hope it doesn't pack up again.
