Although I think my ranges are little more eclectic and out there compared to a lot of people's here. 
But really, unless you're going for super tight or very specific ranges (double obs with bright terts, for example), it's a lot of trial and error to figure out what looks good. I paired at least one or two sets of dragons by just slapping them together in the nesting grounds because both their CDs were up and it was kind of like, oh hey, those are totally random but they kinda look awesome. xD
