Getting really sick of all the negative publicity the cops are getting. You know what doesn't make headlines? ALL the plethora of other cops who are doing their jobs right! All the situations that end peacefully! All the criminals who are off the streets. That doesn't make headlines. What does is the small percentage of bad cops. And people are soooo Fucking stupid. /bangs head on wall

God Christmas this year is just depressing me so much. I'm so tired, stressed and almost in tears because my family sucks so bad. I'm so done.

My mom and I were just talking about this. Mainly it's a problem with the media trying to sensationalize everything to sell papers, it hasn't been about truth or reporting for a long time. Last summer when my daughter was learning to ride her bike, she was doing it in a parking lot that was big and empty with her grandfather. A policeman was sitting there in his car writing reports. She wanted to say hi to him so she did. He was very polite and took time from reports to talk to her. After he finished his reports he came over to her and told her how brave she had been when she fell and got right back on. He then gave her his card and a special coin the cops carry around here called a challenge point. It made her day.

Ehhh, basically it boils down to cops who do their job correctly should not get praise and patted on the head just for doing their job right. Meanwhile, there is a percentage of cops, no matter how small, who are doing terrible things and happily getting away with it.

It's no surprise that bad cops get publicity, they should be called out.

I disagree that they should not get called out to the point it demonizes an entire occupation, that is not right. So called news who report just to get a rise and neglect to actually make the public aware of the percentage of good vs bad should shut the fuck up. They cease to be true reporters and do absolutely no good for anyone other than their pocket book.

Ugh my tooth pain is beyond awful right now. The dentist poking around did NOT help. I still have a few weeks to wait until I can get the problematic little bastard pulled out/removed.

I'm sooo angry.. Pain turns me into a snarly feral cat.. Grr.

A thing with the kind of people who tend to do bad things if they are cops is that they don't chnage unless they get publicly called out for it. It's kind of like that arrogant kid at school who thinks he knows everything, call them out on their bullshit and they change.

That works with the ciops here at least XD Here we do that to anyone who does something wrong

It's fine, Jurz. And I know how you feel. It's been seven years since my own dog had to be put down, and I still get upset whenever I remember. I grew up with her, practically, and I wasn't able to say goodbye...

I'm no longer in a relationship. I'm actually pretty relieved about it, it stopped feeling like a relationship a while back and I'd been agonizing over what I was going to say about it, because I wasn't exactly happy. So when he finally said something, it was a big relief.
