Snowy wrote:People are speculating (from what I've seen) that customisation may not be in ORAS just to make it feel more like the original Ruby and Sapphire but I think that'd be a bad decision. If they remove customisation now, people will ask why and generally won't be pleased. As Seilahyn said, it made the trainer feel more like 'you'. I know I wouldn't be happy if they removed it.

You know what I'd like to see make a return though? Your lead Pokemon following behind you again. I loved that feature for really adorable silly reasons but I was sad to see it removed.

I also wonder if they'll stick with Pokemon Amie in the new games. If they remove it in future games, how are people gunna get their Sylveons? o: (And by my logic, EVERYONE should have Sylveons.)
The bolded text is something I agree with 1,000%. I loved that about HG/SS, and I was sad that it didn't make a return in Black and White since it was a gimmick. Still, I loved checking to see how my lead Pokemon was feeling, even if it sometimes led to my trainer losing a bodypart (when my Feraligatr was chewing on my sneakers -- with me in them!) and all the hilarity that would ensue when certain 'mon gave certain messages. This feature showed me what a lovable goofball Kismet, my Entei, was. He was always so happy (which was amusing considering the scare me gave me when I first encountered him after the Burned Tower story event).

Scyther poked your belly! (The more blood, the more he loves you!)
Charizard is rolling around in the grass! (*FWOOM!*)
Feraligatr is chewing on your sneakers! Scold it? (Yes/No) (There go my legs...)
Whoah! Regice just hugged you! (*KER-FREEZE!*)
Groudon jumped for joy! (*THUD!!!*)

That aside, I also hope the Amie will make a return. Not only because it's needed for Sylveon, but it would be such a giant step backwards not to include it. Like how in the original Ruby and Sapphire, there was no day/night cycle, and due to being on a different system, no compatibility with G/S/C, so no Espeon or Umbreon for you. u_u The remakes should be compatible with X and Y, though, so you could just trade a Sylveon over from there, but still. Not seeing my 'mon look back at me or breaking out of a status condition to keep me from worrying would make me sad.

Does that carry over to battles?

I am guessing that the person there is a digger guy from the secret base stuff...guessing he uses a Flygon, and we'll have to fight him at some point(s).

You can dress up pikachu...for some reason I have a feeling it'll be a very limited number of Pokémon you can dress up...probably just the "cute" ones, like that one park that only let cute Pokémon in...

Oh, god, Amity Square from the gen IV games was the only thing I absolutely HATED about those games. The restrictions of what 'mon were 'cute' made absolutely no sense! How is Riolu not cute enough?! There was even a black belt who was complaining about it, and had every right to. "Discrimination, I tell you!"

But, unlike Amity Square, if there is a limit to what Pokemon can and can't be dressed up, it would at least make some sense to why they would be restricted. Imagine trying to get a Charizard, or something else tough looking to dress up in something silly and/or frou-frou? Roast trainer! Unless said Charizard enjoyed dressing up, that is. If the clothes did carry to battle, and if something able to be dressed up could mega evolve, would the clothes be torn to shreds? o_O

I'm sorry if I don't make much sense, it's early and I just woke up.

It'd be like when the Hulk "transforms". Magically his shorts somehow still fit him while all his other clothing gets shredded to pieces.

I'm getting rather amusing images of Charizards in froofy dresses getting all embarrassed when they transform and the dress gets ripped off. If Machamp ever gets a mega... let's hope his little black panties have some magic stretching power like the Hulk.

Mega info:

Mega Metagross gains the Tough Claws ability (power boost on Physical Contact attacks like Meteor Mash or Hammer Arm.)

Mega Metagross gets a big Speed Boost as well as boosts to all stats bar HP. So a bigger Offensive Tank.

Mega Diancie gets Magic Bounce (reflects status moves like Taunt or Thunder Wave or Entry Hazards back at the user).

Mega Diancie gets a big Speed boost as well as boosts to both attacking stats...at the cost of both her defensive stats getting reduced.

Also:

The pikachu cosplay English names:

Pikachu Belle

Pikachu Rock Star

Pikachu PH. D.

Pikachu Pop Star

Pikachu Libre

These seem to tie in with the five contest stats from RSE.

Trailer: Features Mega Metagross, The Pikachu cosplays, Secret bases, the first 5 Gym Leaders, and the first 2 E4 members.

I'm personally ridiculously fond of Charizard Y, I prefer it to normal Charizard (Sue me), Charizard X is okay, mega Absol looks nice but all the others... meh.

Also I'm really praying that this game isn't as piss easy to beat as X & Y were. Urg the battles during the story mode was so dull, it was so kiddy-friendly compared to the older games it was ridiculous.

I hear ya. I certainly liked B/W better in terms of story and such. I liked how the gym leaders felt like actual characters that did stuff outside of their gym as well.

The new games shouldn't be as easy as XY if they're true remakes of Ruby/Sapphire. Now, those two weren't ridiculously hard either, but every Pokemon game until BW has been challenging in some way (BW wasn't as easy as XY, but it was still relatively easy imo. At least it had a good story unlike XY)

I like some of the megas, but none have really…called to me, I guess. They're just cool, my favorite probably being Mega Ampharos

Wow, I really thought I was alone on disliking X & Y's story so I wasn't gunna mention it. o.O I really didn't like it either, it felt like such a downgrade from the amazing story they did for Black & White. Plus I really couldn't help but hate every single one of the companion characters. Heck, I thought that the Looker side story was better than the rest of the game. (I only got around to doing that recently and... wow. Why did I hold it off for so long? It was so good! Why did they put in so much effort into these side characters and so little effort into the main ones?)

And yet, as much as I can complain about it, I've covered nearly 500 hours on it now just hunting for shinies, wonder trading, online battling, etc. No excuse for the story though!

Aside from both versions of Mega Charizard, I'm extremely fond of the mega forms for Lucario, Gengar, Blaziken, Tyranitar, and Gardevoir (shiny). I would like Mega Absol more, but the emo hair covering the left eye really bothers me. I'm still in two minds about Mega Metagross even after seeing clearer images of it.

While the companion characters in XY didn't bother me personally, they're nowhere as well done as Bianca and Cheren were in B/W. Hugh in B2/W2 was a little too whiny for me.

Heck I disliked Bianca for being a bit of an airheaded character and for always whining about how she wasn't as good as me or Cheren, but I still thought her character was at least portrayed well. And N as well was just... wow. I felt so, so bad for him. I've never felt bad for a character in a Pokémon game before. And sure Black & White's gameplay wasn't as tricky as previous games either but it was still at least not 'easy', at least for me. X & Y didn't have a single trainer or gym leader with a full party of Pokémon either and that bugged me a lot.

I forgot about N. *facedesks* Yes, N was amazing. And the development he's gone through between the original games and the sequels made him even better.

Could someone elaborate on the GTS? If I put a shiny Mewtwo I got from a wonder trade in looking for a Male (Shiny isn't a choosable option) Vulpix, will it just automatically trade when someone offers a normal Vulpix? Or will it show me the offers I've gotten and let me accept/decline? Don't want to lose a nice shiny for a normal Vulpix.

Also, how does chaining for shinies work? Sweet Scent lures groups and I heard it is a good way to shiny farm... but what if the poke you want doesn't come in groups? Does it still attract more pokemon to the area?

Editç
Oh yeah' bought Black v2 today.
