To be quite honest, I'm thoroughly glad they won't be exotic. BM does have plenty of love, in fact, when those changes to AotH go through, it's being predicted to be one of the top DPS specs--how is that not love? (By the way, BM is also simming above SV in DPS right now as well. )

The thing I'm most disappointed about with Hydras is that they're recycling an already existing buff. We already have 2 pets that give the 5% crit buff...surely there was something else they could have been given.

Mildly surprised the hydras are non-exotic, but not completely, since I'd had a feeling for some reason...

I was in PTR and saw Sandfur in Sholazar Basin, I was JRogerr.

I've moved my last PTR char hordeside, so now I have one of each faction. Am in the Petopians channel on both!

Gonna have to disagree on top DPS. BM is still below SV and MM. I tested the SV on a dummy and BM was like 1k or so lower than SV. Thats not love at all. But we'll see when the buff comes.....though I'd much prefer Hydras going exotic than the buff, since BMs are about our rare beasties. We share a lot with the others as is.

It is live; I'm staring at my ap right now. 829 sounds terribly low; keep in mind that this buff only applies to AotH at level 85, so a hunter below 85 won't have it.

it went live on US servers around 7pm CST during raids. you'll have to refresh your hawk buff for it to show the change.

edit: my spell book hawk still says 829ap, but the actual buff is 2600ap with 3/3 OwN.

i tested BM out on Omnitron 18K dps (pet did 44% dmg) and the Twilight Dragons 19K dps (pet did 42% dmg) on normal 25man, was about 1200-1400 dps behind the MM hunters.

Seems the tooltips are different...the BUFF itself is correct but the tooltip isnt. I refreshed the buff and the tooltip still didnt say 2600.

I've heard a lot of different talk about taming hydras. Are there ANY hydras that are tameable at the moment?

not on live...and from what I read they aren't tameable on PTR.....yet

Not at the moment, no. HOWEVER, in Patch 4.1 they will be, or so people are saying.

My tooltip on live currently makes no mention of a specific number:

A powerful stance which increases your ranged attack power, increasing the damage you do. Use it at all times.

The buff itself reads:

Increases ranged attack power by 2000.

On my character sheet (in PvP gear), my ranged ap drops 2k without it.

Getting back to the topic at hand, I'm going to update the title of this thread to reflect that hydras are not currently tamable on the PTR in this particular build....yet.
