i think the TCG griff looks like a big pile of hastily slapped together trash, tbh. it has mint green on it, for god's sake. and like, zero fire despite having blazing in the name.

the new one is what that one SHOULD have been. there is someone on my server who always sits around on it in stormwind and i am not even the teensiest bit jealous, though i do feel bad for them for getting hosed for 300 bucks haha.

Pretty much this. I really dislike the 'BUT PEOPLE HAVING COOL STUFF CHEAPENS IT' attitude. It's a pretendy fun game. Let others enjoy it too.

I kind of get what your saying, but what if you were lucky and found one, or your mates brought you one for your birthday? I find it sad how some people just assume, "well if you want to waste your money, your a fool and deserve less than others" attitude. I try not to judge people on their gear/items, it can b hard, but I try. You dont know how they where obtained.

As for me, I guess I'm just a more disappointed that it's essentially, yet another, very similar Flaming Hippo G. I actually much prefer the new model/coloration over the Blazing one myself, the bright red is much more appealing. But like I said, burning tail, hooves, wings... pretty much the same idea

I'm not sure how two flaming hippogryphs are the same idea if their appearances are so...different.

It was the fact the effects/ideas it had that were the same, that was disappointing for me.

I'm not trying to start an argument or say your right, I'm right, balh blah blah. Just thinking out aloud. And yes I really like the colors/model, but you know, imagine if they made it's antlers out of fire or somthing a little different. Anyway, I've said my bit, and tried to explain, it's all good

Another similarity between the two... Look at the feathering at the bone of the wing (right in the front, not where the flappy skin is)... The yellow and Blue coloration is the exact same between the two.

I don't really care if theres two mounts out there that look kind of the same. I'd still get them.

I totally agree. I was just pointing out a similarity.

I think it's kinda silly, complaining about similar looking mounts... How many rare mounts are there in WoW that have very similar mounts? The Brewfest mounts, Proto Drakes, and any other recolors. At least this one isn't just a recolor of the Blazing, they actually put some time into making it unique compared to it's counterpart.

Midnight/Headless Horseman's mount, too. XD Until I learned the key differences, I got those two mixed up all the time.

On the PTR you can get them for Free ^.^ the Armani dragonhawk and cub atleast. So on the ptr you can fly around with them haha.

Well, I'm not that good at posting stuff right in the post, but here it is for "download":

I have to say, I'm perpetually frustrated with the amount of TCG crap they keep adding.

First of all, I'm unemployed so I can't afford to chuck hundreds of dollars at a card game I won't ever play because:
Second of all, I don't live near anyone that gives a damn about playing said card game, so they just get tossed in a box, and:
Third of all, there's not even a guarantee of ONE loot card in a given box of cards.

All this means is that people put them up on eBay for enough money to pay my bills for two months straight.

I am not really willing to fork out ridiculous amounts of real cash for pixels. Yaknow? And yet if you want 90% of the neatest mounts, that's what they're forcing you to do.

I don't like it. Nossir.

It's something I'm not fond of either, but I mostly just ignore the stuff. Me? I want a magic chicken. I want it so bad that it *hurts* me. I know I'll probably never get it. Why? Because of the facts you mentioned above. So it... just is, really.

None of these things are needed to be able to play the game. None of them give you any advantages other than 'teh shiny'.

So like... what color is this one? Haven't they covered them all? Most lashtails are red, but the red (Razzashi) is a zone drop in STV, so.... iunno...

A friend suggested it'd be purchasable from the venomhide trainer, but the Obsidian is the pet version of the Venomhide mount soooooo...

It looks like the pets in ZA are unchanged. This has plusses and minuses. Plusses, because it means that none of the skins in there will be giong extinct. Minuses: getting yourself a yellowdragonhawk is a 'now or never' thing!

... well, OK. It's not. Taming one solo isn't impossible. Just tough. Post coming up on the how-to.
