Honestly, even though our Factions are at war doesn't mean we have to be. Personally, I think this is why I believe this game should have a Rep Alignment system besides just being "PVP FLagged or not."
Seriously, I never Pick fights with anyone (though I'll always finish one someone else started.) But I'll gladly let people go their own merry way if they leave me and mine alone. This coming from Serious PVPer on a RPPVP Server. I just happen to believe there's a time and place for Fighting and that there's no true "War" in WARcraft. Think about it. In Real Life, Would either Faction really condone in-fighting on the Molten Front, where we have both suppose to be allied with another Faction to combat a greater Enemy? Hell no. If this was a Real War, King Varian would never support the Druids of Hyjal so long as they allow the Horde to remained Marading unchecked. Hellscream, well he'd Wage War against Hyjal itself if he thinks he could elimanate the Alliance. This is no way to run a War. It's a War neither side want to quit so neither side will ever win.
Anyway, back on topic. Few Weeks ago, I first saw Skitterflame and figured I'd try my luck with him, although I was only in it for the Challenge and didn't care much for the Spider himself. Tried several times to bring him down but couldn't seam to get the timing right. After about 7 deaths, I rezed to find a BE hunter prepping to try. Since I wasn't really interested in having him, I figured I'd let it go. Now, this hunter also happened to be a notorious Ganker on the Molten Front but she already put her Pet away and not looking for a fight, I tried to reassure her in every way I could that I wouldn't harass her. After every Emote I could think of, I placed my own trap in it's path and waved her on. After she tamed it, I /cheered her on and then went back to my dailies.
If I can treat people with a little respect and Decency, Why can't They? Maybe if we all did, there wouldn't be any "War" to start with.
