nope, thats just a imaged painted onto a screenshot.
that said, it is a hopeful indicator that they aren't looking for a slimmed down fanboy tug tug model either

Well, technically Blizzard did make it, that was part of the Art panel where they jokingly had Pandaren in a variety of situations. They are not official models though, just concepts.

So far, the Blizzard art is looking good. Those are some pudgy female Pandaren. I would approve greatly.

Yes yes yes! All these great fanarts seem to give the pandaren females something very fun: sass. They just have this sassy, bold look to them, and I love it!!!

If I had to choose between those two I'd pick the first, though something in the middle would be best. But as I said, that could easily be done by providing different faces so everyone can get what they want. I REALLY hope Blizzard has learned from their mistakes. ><
And I have to agree that the stuff Ijomi posted is spot on!

I see the males being an outlet for blizzards traditional view of fun, oriental themed drunken brawlers. Which is likely why they have stumbled over making a showable female Pandaren, despite having vast regions of the new expansion and hundreds of side models finalized. They've probably been having difficulty finalizing a theme that they think fits the Pandarens. Granted there are the basics: it will need to be stocky, yet feminine, and needs to fit the oriental theme. It is a highly Americanized game, so they'll likely be a good bit "front heavy." On another branch of thought, having almost a little old Chinese lady theme would definitely fit the race's theme. However I'm not entirely sure how that would fit in with player variety. Perhaps they could make 5 different visual styles for them and you choose which one you think fits the theme you want for your character.

See, I could actually go either way on this.
Big, jolly, bouncy awesome panda gals? Sweet. Just plain fun.
But they could also take an unexpected route, and base the females more on Red Pandas. You know, those slim adorable little cuties, the fox-like cousins to Great Pandas. That could make a very sleek, interesting model, if it was done well. Especially if it had heavily asian features.
My main beef with the Worgen models was that they had HORRIBLE customization. Every Worgen looks almost exactly the same. As long as they manage not to do that with the Pandas, and have a good looking model, I'm alright with that! The worst thing that could happen for me, would be if the male and female were almost indistinguishable from each other. EUGH!

But.....red pandas and panda bears aren't the same, are they? I thought red pandas were more closely related to raccoons. In fact, wasn't there something about that a page or two back?
I personally hope they don't go that route, because they aren't even the same species! That'd be like making male worgen resemble wolves, and female worgen resemble, I dunno.....badgers.

Or, male tauren resembling bulls, and female tauren resembling horses. They just aren't the same, regardless of what their common name might be.
However, I know it's a fantasy game blah blah and if they can have giant talking cows, they can certainly make female pandaren a completely different species than male pandaren but call them the same thing. >.>

They look similar though and yeah, your last line was what I was about to say. XD There could be different appearances of the pandaren.

Thank you. There was something about it a few pages back. Taluwen said they should/could be different species cause "no one knows they aren't the same." They aren't even cousins. They are very distantly related. Sure they could but it would be flat out stupid of them to do so. As bad as your bulls and horses comparison. Like making male gnomes be goblins and female gnomes be dwarves, cause they're all short. It would just be stupid.
Common names....ok, there are two plants called black nightshade. One is Solanum nigrum, a plant cultivated and sold as food in many parts of the world. The other is Atropa belladonna. It is extremely deadly and its the plant you probably think of when you say black nightshade. Are they the same? Interchangeable? Maybe to some people but I sure as heck don't want an Atropa belladonna salad....

How do they look similar? The way a weasel looks like a grizzly in that they are both mammals?

I think it's because of the vaguely similar facial markings and that they both have dark legsā¦
Honestly Red Pandas don't look like pandas at all. >.>

Agreed on the don't make it a red panda please. I suppose they could allow the colouration for the pandarans in general.. I mean.. no reason that a pigmentation mutation couldn't cause the black to come out more reddish... But... if you actually look at it, red pandas barely even resemble pandas. So it would be a HUGE difference (google them, the marking pattern is completely different, and yes, does resemble raccoons more than pandas).
To the person that said red pandas are "slim" and "sleek" ... have you googled a real red panda image?

They're adorable, stocky, chubby little red raccoons, heh. I would never really use the terms slim and sleek to describe one. Maybe not AS pudgy as a panda.. but definitely not fitting into Blizz's notion of... well... I probably shouldn't describe it the way I was going to.. Let's just say, even a red panda, which isn't even remotely related to bears at all, wouldn't follow the slim figure, 1000Cal diet most of the WoW females must follow to keep those figures <.<

Damn, that artist makes chubby panda girls look
badass.
Personally, my theory is that Pandaren are probably a pseudo-joke race (I would say Gnomes are that too, but the Gnomes in canon are usually the Butt Monkeys of WoW;) you may laugh at the chubby non-intimidating panda-man at first, but we'll see who's laughing when that panda-man kicks your ass with his bare hands without breaking a sweat. Kinda like Hunter-owned Tallstriders but fatter.
But I digress. Fat people can be badass too. Just look at Coop from Megas XLR. Blizzard, don't do the same thing you did for the Draenei here. Even though the female Draenei now have Dem Hips, the supermodel route's not gonna work for the Pandaren gals.
