I'm okay with this as long as it's handled well and no one gets anything pushed onto their characters that they don't want to have.

The way I see that this could work is similar to heirlooms: Your character could create a "spellbook" heirloom of their mounts (or vanity pets) that they send to alts whom can then use it to browse and learn the mount spells they want to have - if they so choose!

I'm currently rep grinding Cenarion Expedition for an alt and while I do not mind it too much (gets me a nice extra penny and some of the instances have nice things for mogging) it would be better for me if I could just grab the mount from my main. Personally I don't see how it's taking anything away from anyone if they can "juggle mounts" inside their own account. You worked for it once already, your alts shouldn't feel like they're missing out!

I do admit that when I saw the blue proto drake drop for me a second time; it was mind blowingly awesome. Still, it was already mind blowingly awesome to see it drop the first time and I would be more than happy to just "send" or "copy" the mount over to my death knight too instead of having to grind Skadi all over again.

I can see where the people on both sides are coming from with this, but I also believe there are ways to keep everyone happy even if mounts become available account-wide. I do not think it will be a blatant copy-over from one character that has lots of mounts to all others you have. Never say never but I'd wait and see before having any heartache to one way or another?

My personal guess (and it's really just a stab in the dark) is that this is why the stable masters have been turned into vendors. It seems really pointless to have them sell leashes and nothing else. It could be that in MoP their "product range" increases for your characters with every mini pet and mount you unlock, so that you can take a character there to get any creature you want on that character.

Wait. So locks and pallies don't have their special class mounts anymore, anyone can get them? Likewise for DK horses and gryphons?

I don't think I like that idea. I feel like they should remain special to their classes and be individual. I feel like they should get that perk for their own class.

Nono, i dont think class and profession specific (such as carpets and helicopters that require the profession to learn), most probably TCG, arena, and promotion deals (scroll of resurrection and recruit-a-friend) will be account bound, but all the normal ordinary vendor, in-game acheivments, monster drops, and quest gained (i think i covered all the in-game ways of acquiring mounts) will be. Though i dunno about retired ones either.. cant say if those would become available to the toons of a player who owns one or more of say, the plagued proto drake or the black proto drake or a vanilla non-armor epic mount or the ZG mounts. We need more info but this is all i think speculation and more like an idea rather then a serious decision atm. Although if the quote on the first page is word for word, perhaps it really is a serious decision in the works o_O

I think you misunderstood.

Class specific ones stay to their classes. The rest will be account bound.

Ah, okay. I've been sort of skimming all this new info, so all I got was, "AAAAALLLL the mounts are account bound yay 8D" and was like, "lolwut."

It's subject to change, of course, but from what I understand, thats how it's gonna work.

I wouldn't complain *at all* if the tailoring/engineering mounts became account wide too. And even better if they just removed the profession requirement to use them.

God yes. ><; Totally not fair other professions can make money with mounts they make but we tailors cant....

If they make the mount tab account-wide, they can just put a class-restriction on the class mounts.

I'm all for this! Just the other day I was dreading having to grind out rep for Kurenai, Netherwing, and the Skyguard for my druid... I have ocd... so I try my best to have my characters have the mounts the other has... if mounts do this, this girl will be VERY happy and relieved of all this stress!

Heya guys, since I made this thread a few days ago and gave my rather negative opinion at the time, I've come to like it a lot more. I'm very prone to changing my mind rather quickly and I have to say that you guys being positive about this has made it come to light a little better. Yeah, I have to agree, reputation farming is booorrrriinngggg. Especially doing it more than once. And if they also make the profession mounts account wide then I'll be all for this, really. I can understand a lot of people's problems with not having this in the game so it seems like a better idea to me now.

Nothin wrong with changing your mind. I'm still curious to see how it's gonna work cause theres no real specifics.
